Azorius has recently gotten too steep for Venser. Wizards needs to give a little love to some other guilds (pls)
The only words I can think of that magic has taught me is the innumerable synonyms for ways to burn things... I'm sure there are others but this is the most obvious

My Cubes - The Busted Cube. A fully functional, almost 100% custom cube. The project started out by asking "What if other colors got cards on the power level of Mana Drain,Ancestral Recall, and Time Walk?" Draft and enjoy!
I have enjoyed Venser, the Sojourner and still run him. He definitely takes the right deck to make him work at 100% but with the amount of value ETB creatures in cube it isn't too hard to get a solid amount of value out of him.
It doesn't come up that that often but that -1 can definitely gets the job done as well if you just meed to break a stalemate or just punch through those last points of damage. I have been playing tempo decks a bit more so I might try playing him as a finisher to punch through after they stabilize.
I wouldn't be pleased to cut him because my group enjoys the blink deck but he definitely isn't the strongest option for the guild.
I'm certain I have learned new words but I can't remember what ones.
Edit: Abrade. That is probably the last "real" word I learned from magic.

Fleshbag Marauder has been solid for us, easily replaceable but it regularly gets played.
Recently cut him, I've always loved Venser but there's too much awesome Azorius stuff.
I've started to take to the mind set of having at least one 'flex spot' of sorts in the multicolored section, and Venser (who has been in and out of my cube so much) was back in at that spot. Instead of running something like Detention Sphere or Terminate or etc which are better versions of redundant effects already in their monocolored section, I'm trying to run the Vensers or Spell Quellers or Sphinx's Revelations of the world. Not that these are bad cards, but that's precisely the problem--some sections have too much good stuff, and I'd rather change it up as there's too much to choose from but also because it's interesting to see how a card I test X amount of time ago fares now that the cube has changed in Y number of ways. There are some cards that don't get touched (e.g. Vindicate) but for the most part every section has one spot that switches up for me.
I didn't know Horns***gle was a real word until recently, I thought that wrestler made it up.
Cryptologist is really solid. It's the only looter that can start looting on turn 2, which can be critical for reanimator and Welder decks. I'm pretty sure I'd run it if I cut my cube down to a 360.
I love tabletop RPGs. I haven't played in a long time, but I love them.
Agreed. I like Cryptologist. It can loot earlier than most looter variants, and it can turn into a card advantage engine if it survives into the late game.
I like both tabletop and video game RPGs, but lack the time to play either anymore.
I like Looter-Il-Kor more than Cryptologist, but they are both great.
I am currently in a pathfinder campaign, love playing the Mansions of Madness (it's basically a lite tabletop) and recently finished divinity: original sin.
Cryptologist is one of my favorite blue cards. It goes in the blue decks I like to play. Honestly, though, I never realized she was holding a little cube in the art. That's pretty cool.
I like looters but I have never been that interested in cryptologist. I might give it a rethink but it just feels bad that it dies to everything (even at max level), doesn't trande with X/1s and costs 3 mana before I can loot. I think I prefer Merfolk Looter and Thought Courier untill I get Jace, Vryn's Prodigy.
Jace, Vryn's Prodigy
Looter il-kor
Search for Azcanta
Enclave Cryptologist
They're all great, but I would put Search for Azcanta over Cryptologist now that we have Chart a Course. Search for Azcanta goes into a lot of decks and is a huge boon for control shells.

This is probably my ranking, though there's not a massive gap between all entrants.
I would play this before putting Chromatic Lantern back in, but right now I'm not really in the market for a 3 mana stone that doesn't make 2+ mana.
A 1 drop vehicle would be nice, but if we're being realistic it would be cool to have one that doubled as a formerly widely cubed effect/card, like a vehicle that's also an Icy Manipulator for when you can't or don't want to attack/block with it.
I've never tried Caravan, but I prefer Chromatic Lantern to it. I see this ranking reversed by many other cubers. I think the ability to make all your lands tap for any color is relevant often enough. Lantern allows Sneak Attack and other splashes more easily and allows for 3+ color decks more often. It also lets you get extra mileage off ofRishadan Port, Maze of Ith, and Ancient Tomb off the top of my head.
That all said, I think Caravan seems really solid and I think it's fine to run in a 360 list. Any 540+ list should strongly consider it.
i had both for a while and caravan got the cut over lantern for me but I run a slightly heavier gold section than most people so this is why it was the right choice for me. I think in most cubes i would take the caravan over lantern.

My issue with Lantern is that if I need it to make splashes easier, then my deck probably has horrendous mana and games where I don't draw it the deck will suffer; and if I don't need it for the splashes, why would I need lantern? This is often how it played out in practice, I'd look down and realize I could have any 3 mana rock there and my mana would still be fine, or if I didn't have Lantern I'd be in a lot of trouble no matter what else I really drew, and neither of those scenarios were things I wanted to fix i.e. 'rewarding' bad drafting/deckbuilding or adding redundancy when its not needed.
This probably varies cube-to-cube based on fixing, so if you have less fixing or way more gold cards in your cube then Lantern gets better, but in our cube it was either trying to fix a train wreck or icing on top of the icing.
I'm not a fan of Vehicles, but since this does something even when uncrewed, it never becomes a dead card.
That said, the power level is a bit low, and I even excluded it from my artifact cube.
I think a Vehicle will only be playable in cube if has a cube power level ability other than the Crew ability.
Just like we have powerful equipment with no utility besides being equipped (and consequently can be dead), vehicles should not be dismissed. I wouldn't say there are many bomb vehicles as of now, but at the very least we have Smuggler's Copter.

I love board games and before I started cubing, I preferred playing them during get togethers. Now, they're a backup plan.

Between looter il-kor, jace, vryn's prodigy, and kind of search for azcanta i havent felt like i need more of this effect?
jace, vryn's prodigy
looter il-kor
Cryptologist
Search for Azcanta
I think Search is > Cryptologist in a vacume, but Cryptologist supports Reanimate better so That is why I would rank them this way
