Nice! This card of the day discussion encouraged me to swap out my Fire Imp for Pia Nalaar. Although, having Pia on the table with Pia and Kiran Nalaar will be a bit odd....
He went out I think a year ago, but overall not a bad card. Great when played in curve as he helps maintain the aggro pressure.
I may be un the minority here, but I like the FTV foils, as they are easy to acquire and really stands out. Pack foils are expensive especially the old ones, but I try to get the Prerelease promos because I like them dated.
1. Full art promo
2. Promo (if art is better)
3. Prerelease Promo
4. Pack Foil
5. FTV or DD Foil (if art is better)
6. Regular art
Of course budget is a limiting factor so most of my cards are actually #6
Ice Storm was last post on the previous page. I mention that because it's easy to miss.
Ice Storm is awesome. I'd love to play it if it weren't expensive. It's not on the reserved list, so I could see it coming up in a Masters set. I play Winter's Grasp in its place, which is passable, but I'd like to upgrade.
My favorite keyword on the storm scale is an unpopular one: haunt. None of the cards with haunt are all that great, but I see a lot of unused design space. Something so simple as "Haunted creature gets -1/-1" never got tried. Having creatures that basically turn into auras "haunting" other creatures is super flavorful, and has plenty of potential within the rules.
I'm not a big fan of individual land destruction in the cube. At 720 it's hard to get the deck to come together, and it's not guaranteed to be great when it does, so I'd rather keep supporting cards like Acidic Slime which can bust a land as needed but are more likely to take out something else. I do still have Sinkhole for now, but it's likely to slide back out in a future update.
My favorite mechanic is a 4 on the storm scale, but unfortunately pretty terrible for cube: morph. So I built a second cube, called the Mystery Box, that's all about morph. Can't wait for its number to get called again so I can have more options for that one.
Ice Storm is cool. Green Stone Rain is a nice card in aggressive decks. As I run some bounce lands, land destruction can be very powerful in my meta. I do run more fixing than most cubes though, so the power of LD is not super powerful across the board. I'm not running stone rain or ice storm mainly due to space but also because the effect is a bit narrow outside build-around type cards (Wildfire) or as silver bullets (punish 3+ color decks with loose mana).
I had to google storm scale. Had no idea people were tracking this. Neato. I love Landfall. I guess it's a 3 which is good for me since I'd like more cards with that keyword.
I've been playing around with a pauper constructed deck with 4x Thermokarst, 4x Mwonvuli Acid-Moss, 4x Temporal Spring, plus a few Mold Shamblers and Dinrova Horrors. I think if I ever built a pauper cube, I'd make Ponza a thing there. Such a cool archetype, and from the oldest of old schools, too.

It's a pass for me as well for being to narrow. Cool card though. Direct Ponza isn't a deck I want to support other than running sinkhole in black, but more as a way to disrupt and by a little time vs keeping an opponent off lands for good.
If I were to support it directly though It would probably be an inclusion. If i was looking for another land destruction card though to help against all the manlands I would run pillage or aftershock I think but I don't feel it is really needed in my cube at this point in time.
I cut recently from 465 to 375, but keeping that 2-player package in case we are 10 people. In those 90 cards, I have Stone Rain, Pillage, Sinkhole, Fallow Earth and Ice Storm. I think that these cards are good in aggro (and bad to midrange/goodstuff, the bane of aggro), not just for a Ponza/LD deck. I reworked the 90 card section to enable certain archetypes, not to be the next X best cards to add.
Where are your favorite non-evergreen keywords on the storm scale?
I was going to go with Storm, but after checking the list I like Dredge too. Also, Blast from the Past
I believe WoTC's new policy is to make sure that every color can enjoy the exciting gameplay mechanic of making undercosted dudes and then turning them sideways. Clearly the future of magic.

I don't run conspiracies in my cube at this point, but If I did, I would defiantly run it. Can allow for a fun build around me card. It's one of those cards that can be great if picked early, but if you see in in pack 3 it is usually too late to do anything with.
I have it in my conspiracy module. And when you build around it from the esrly parts of the draft on, and the opponent doesn't ...it can have a huge impact.
never tried it since i havent made a conspiracy module. seems like a fun card but not something that I would include in my cube normally even if it wasnt a conspiracy.
I'm 6'3 and 240lbs... working on cutting down to 220lbs
Haven't seen a ton of it in action, it always seems to come late at a point where no one can start building around it and no one happens to have 'that deck'. Probably one of the worst conspiracies for that reason, which doesn't mean its bad but Im not going to compare it to power like I would with Backup Plan or Power Play.
I'm 6'3" 220, weight has been fluctuating due to dieting and then not-dieting over the past 1.5 years. Went from 260 to 180 to 240 and now back down to 220.
I left Weight Advantage out of my conspiracy section. Something about it doesn't sit right with me... it feels like too big a change to how the game operates. The eight I've got going now are Backup Plan, Emissary's Ploy, Hymn of the Wilds, Immediate Action, Power Play, Sovereign's Realm, Unexpected Potential, and Worldknit. For a while I ran Double Stroke, but I cut it for being too strong. There are some cube cards, like Time Walk, that should never get a second casting for free.
I don't run conspiracies, and I doubt I ever will. I play with a lot of less well-versed players who have no idea what a conspiracy is. I don't want to have to stop the draft and explain a new card type, which already happens enough with planeswalkers.
As a conspiracy, this is one of the cooler ones, and I just so happen to own a copy. If I did build a conspiracy cube, I would definitely include it.
I don't know my height or weight. Maybe 5'7-ish and 150lbs-ish?
I used to play this, Svereigns Realm and Hymn of the Wilds. This got cut because it was an absolutely awful card and the effect was generally a downside, the Realm got cut because we banned it for being too overpowered, and Hymn still remains in our cube to this day. If you haven't tried Hymn in cube I HIGHLY recommend it. It is very strong but by no means unfair. Leads to some fun shenanigans, try it out.
I'm 5'9" and weigh around 150. I love lifting but have recently been eating way too much so I can stand to lose some weight.
I technically have a conspiracy package (that I've never used), but I don't think Butt Fight is there. I recall analyzing everybody's butts and found it wasn't worth to run it.
I'm 5'6", last I checked I was 180ish pounds? I weighed myself for the first time in 3 years in January and found I went from like 160 to 190. I gained 20-30ish pounds of muscle over 30 months of lifting, waist size is still the same.
I like the card and would include it if I built a conspiracy sidecar, which I've thought about doing. If we ever start drafting more regularly, I'll do it, to add variety.
I'm 6' and 175. I was 185 for like eight years and then decided to lose some weight. I got as low as 167 during a summer where I was doing lots of physical labor. I'd prefer to be 170, but those last 5 lbs take lots of work to keep off, whereas staying at 175 is easy enough with eating decently.

Hockey season is coming up, do you think there will be a Power Play this year?
Questions:
-Probably been asked before, but: do you run conspiracies? Do you run this one?
-Are you a fan of hockey?
-How do you determine who goes first? If it's a dice roll, how many/which dice do you throw?
I like hockey. I'm from Chicago and hockey has blown up since the Blackhawks have been very successful over the past 7. I'm not a hardcore sports fan or anything and typically only watch games during playoffs / championships when something is actually on the line. Hockey and football are the only two sports I find entertaining to watch.
Card is bonkers. One of the best aggro cards in the cube. I do run this in my conspiracy module.
Local minor-league hockey is a blast. I like going to games for overpriced beer and a fun time. But I'm just not a huge NHL fan; can't get into it for some reason.
