Card is pretty good IMO, but I just find it so damn ugly. I keep going back and forth on him.
Last black 2 I cut was I think Vampire Hexmage. I like the abilities, but I've long been against 2-3 CMC double-colored mana costs for creatures, and make exceptions only where I really, really want the card.
I play Graverobber but do not like him. He costs a lot of mana to flip. Late game I almost never have the resources to do it in the aggressive decks that play him. Early game I have better things to do. Sometimes I'll flip him on turn three when there is a single card in my opponent's graveyard and I have nothing better to do, but that is quite rare. Black two drops are still in a bad place as far as I am concerned.
Nice to retain 1 Flip card in cube. While there are multiple aggro options of course, this offers great utility. The Piker worst case is acceptable as well.
Chainer's Edict is a pretty good. It is a bit more difficult to use against certain decks as you often have to craft the board state to hit the creature you want, but the upside is it kills anything unlike most other black removal that has some kind of restriction. The flashback often gets forgotten about once it's buried in the graveyard and I have caught people off guard manys a time with an edict they forgot about.
I often forget Chainer is a person, I usually think of Chainer as a title. mirri's guile is my favourite off the top of my head.
Edit: Oath of Nissa would be the other obvious choice. Does Tourach count? No card but he(?) is in Magic Lore
Chainer's Edict is one of those cards that's forever on the bubble for me at 450. I'm always tinkering with removal, especially in black, trying to balance 187 creatures vs spells, targeted vs edict, creature vs creature and planeswalker, spot removal vs wraths . . . I'm a Smallpox partisan, but I suspect if I weren't, Chainer's would have a more permanent home. I also go back and forth on whether the instant speed of Diabolic is better than the flashback here.
Mishra's Factory is probably my favorite card in the cube named after a character. Hymn to Tourach is right there, too.

I dig edicts, I dig flashback, and I dig a flashback spell that isn't insanely pricey on first casting. Maybe someday it'll get replaced here, but I don't think that'll happen for quite a while.
Edict is one of those cards that gets better the more a game is already under your control. It's not a win more card, but it's one that can push you over the top. Flashback is always good to see on strong cards, though it is quite expensive.
Chainer's Edict is good, but not bonkers. It's probably the most cubeable edict effect. It's one that I would be unsurprising to see in or out of any given cube.
I love Whip of Erebos. It's a pure delight, and reinvigorated reanimation for my cube.
Edicts are good against some decks and terrible against others. Chainer's Edict is one of the more solid choices. I go back and forth between which is better chainer's or Diabolic Edict. Right now I feel it's the later only because it feels like the early tempo benefits from being instant are generally more useful than the late game CA from the flashback on chainer's. Innocent blood is another good edict. Edicts tend to be much more consistent (hitting a critical target) early in the game, so having one for half price is a pretty good deal. In creature focused cubes, innocent blood loses a bit of value since it's not as easy to break symmetry. It still works well though in decks that care less about sacrificing creatures (or something like aristocrats where you want to do that as part of your game plan).
Thanks for grabbing the reins, Mr. Brightside, and your choice of musical cue and bonus question are fantastic! I had a card all ready to go, but now I'll give it about 12 hours.
Chainer's Edict is still in my cube for the moment, but it's on the chopping block. The sorcery speed and the very expensive flashback cost make this clunky, and only really good enough in control decks, which isn't where I want my removal spells to be. Still, there are enough targets that are resistant to targeted removal that I'm not quite ready to cut it yet.
Chainer's Edict is also a bit unusual in that it's one of the the non-rare cards that I run in my rare cube, but not my peasant cube, because the lack of must-kill untargetables make this not really worth it.
My favorite cube card named after a legend is probably Volrath's Stronghold. When we return to Dominaria, I hope we actually get a playable card depicting Volrath.

Don't get me wrong, it's a great card that I play the ***** out of in Pauper, but in cube it's too inconsistent and slow to generally be good. It's a solid card but generally just doesn't make the cut nowadays.
My favorite card named after a character in magic is Kolaghans Command. I've played for a long time but never cared for lore, it just always felt too nerdy and boring for me, but I played 5-Color Dragons back in DTK standard and K-Command was one of it's centerpieces. I absolutely love the card and everything it does.
I think that if you actively support reanimator and other cheaty strategies, having some edicts to deal with those decks is crucial. I like both Chainer's Edict and Diabolic Edict and neither is near to being cut. If I had to choose one, it would likely be Diabolic because I find the instant speed is more often important than the flashback because of hastiness and Sneak Attack.
My fave card with a walker or legend in the name is likely Volrath's Stronghold. The best one is undoubtedly Umezawa's Jitte but Umezawa doesn't have the same resonance as Volrath or Tourach.
Hard to imagine a cube with rares not including Sunderino.

I've cut him recently due to being underpowered. Even when cheated early, a 7/10 without evasion just doesn't win games reliably. It is certainly not getting there when you are behind, either. Not a suitable target for a green ramp deck too.
Easily one of my favorite and most powerful targets for ramp decks, reanimator decks and fatty-cheating decks alike. Any deck that wants big monsters for any reason can take advantage of Sundering Titan, and the mana disruption he provides and his overall flexibility makes him one of the more formidable big creatures out there. Can't imagine ever cutting it for any reason.
I may have to go for Bishop from Aliens (since the objectively correct answer was already used above). The Cyberdyne Systems model 101 was my gut answer, but since Michael Biehn specifically said it's "Not a robot!" ...I respected his opinion and took it in another direction.
I love sundering titan. Unless you're massively behind to board position, ST is going to shut the door on a lot of faces.
One time I drafted a tinker deck with only one target ('twas a tough draft) and on the draw I had an opening hand of Island Mox Mox Tinker and some other cards. Opponent plays Island, passes, and guess what my first draw was? Sundering Titan. I'll never forget it. Still won that game, but it was painful to go from a pretty much t1 win to having to grind it out in a massively long game.
Favorite robot is probably HK-47 from KOTOR. Sweet game, and he was always on my team because of his hilarious dialogue.
Interesting to hear all the positive feedback for Sundering Titan. I run this in my combo cube as a premier fatty and it's clearly excellent there, but it's not overpowered either (my cubes are lower powered rare lists). I think Battleball, Wurmcoil and Sphinx are all more powerful cards than Sundering Titan (maybe even batterskull). Sure, there are games where an early Sundering Titan wins you the game, but it also has bad matchups, is just one body and can be chumped, and does little for you if you are behind. Battle ball stabilizes the board better and represents a more significant clock (also busted with blink effects). Wurmcoil/Sphinx flat out wreck certain deck strategies to the point where they can be oppressive. Batterskull is not far behind.
My favorite robot is the veritech fighter. Does that count?
Last black 2 I cut was I think Vampire Hexmage. I like the abilities, but I've long been against 2-3 CMC double-colored mana costs for creatures, and make exceptions only where I really, really want the card.
