Sorcery
Choose three modes, you may choose each mode more than once.
-Deals 1 damage to each creature.
-Deals 2 damage to each opponent.
-Destroy Target Artifact.
This seems like a slam dunk to me. The ceiling for each mode is:
1) 3 damage to each creature.
2) 6 damage to each opponent.
3) Blow up three artifacts.
While no mode on it's own is super efficient, the ability to mix and match seems pretty good.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but choosing the second mode three times results in 3 instances of 2 damage, right? Can each instance be redirected to a planeswalker independently, potentially killing a 2-loyalty walker, burning my opponent for two, and also blowing up an artifact? That would be even sweeter.

From the article talking about mechanics:
"It's important to remember than the effects happen in the order written on the card, no matter which modes you choose. If you choose a mode more than once, you choose their relative order. So say you cast Fiery Confluence choosing the first mode twice and the second mode once. As it resolves, first each creature will be dealt 1 damage, then each creature will be dealt 1 damage again, and finally each opponent will be dealt 2 damage."
So I think it works like you said, that you can choose to redirect one instance of the 2-damage to player to a planeswalker, and deal the other 4-damage to the player
This card seems great! 6 damage for 4 mana to close out games, anger of the gods at a slightly increased price (and scalable - so you can save your 3/3's and kill their 2/2's), and kill up to 3 artifacts and get some bonus damage too (for 4 mana this is a smash that does 4 damage - not the worse). This card is so flexible I love it as a main deck card.
I like it a lot. Playable player burn is rare. As is dedicated artifact destruction. This card can be played in so many ways that its versatility offsets its low power.
This is a pretty interesting card. I'm having a hard time evaluating it because of all the options it presents, but that seems like a good problem I suppose?
Also, get a new pic and add the description to OP, as that pic is broken/not working.
I love this, especially for powered cubes. Who doesn't want a maindeckable near-Shatterstorm that can clear out weenies and dome opponents/planeswalkers for 6?

Probably, though Smash might be better in really aggressive red decks with a low land count. But mostly this card seems better for most builds. It could also replace a Vandal or a 2 cc anti artifact dude, depending on how many of those you run.
I think this is going to replace Torch Fiend for me.
Seems like a good switch. I never liked the Fiend variants as they always had really *****ty bodies even for the cost and having to pay a cost & sac to activate was pretty *****ty too.
Awesome design. Playable in aggro, midrange, and control. Also plays well in both 1v1 and multiplayer. 6 damage to each opponent is no joke and the shatter clause is insane in a powered cube. I've been looking to cut Mizzium Mortars for a while now and now I've finally found it.
It looks like the picture isn't there (I attached it to this.)
I like this card as a nice Lava Axe/get wrecked artifact player type of thing. I honestly feel like the mass removal option will be utilized least but hey, can't hurt and it's nice to have that option stapled onto something to give that option to aggro decks that wouldn't normally want to play that kind of thing.
It's also much better than Incendiary Command but that doesn't really say anything.
I had just decided to include Acidic Soil as a cubable Lava Axe for red aggro decks... And two days later, Wizards previews an even better cubable Lava Axe!
Smash to Smithereens is another potential cut though. While paying 1R for +1 damage sucks, this gives a lot more options than that. People are a bit hesitant to maindeck StS, but Confluence can always be maindecked.
Red is sometimes used in control decks. Like Counterburn or Wildfire decks. I guess those are the decks that would use the mass damage option the most.
This makes me really excited for the other four Confluences!
As soon as I saw this card, i thought to myself "insta cube." 4 mana is a lot, but damn. Pretty much any red deck will be happy to play this card - blowing up artifacts is always good, but midrange/ramp/control is happy to have access to that PLUS a sweep, and aggro is happy to have that PLUS face damage. Obviously Smash is WAY cheaper which makes it generally better, but it's also more situational - seems pretty fine to me to have access to a deal-6 at 4 mana in a burn deck. And that's in my UN-powered cube (it still has a strong artifact theme). In a powered cube, this card is obviously crazy.
In smaller cubes I can see Avalanche Riders getting cut (assuming you're keeping your curve). As much as I love Riders, I recall there was a lot of discussion about cutting him in the near future when Pia and Kiran Nalaar was printed, this card is also poaching on its territory. I wouldn't blame people if they cut Chandra, Pyromaster for this.

If better wrath is one of the modes it's going to be absurdly expensive.

Card text added to OP. Thanks for catching that.
Yes, this seems like basically an upgrade as you get so much more flexibility for 1R more. It's Main Deckable, unlike smash in most cubes.

Going to guess black looks something like this.
Creatures your opponents control get -1/-1
Target opponent sacrifices a creature
Draw a card lose a life (Maybe 2 per card) One seems very pushed.
