Good. Now I don't have to feel so bad about telling Detention Sphere to stop clogging up my UW multicolor slot. Not that that's technically the correct decision; O-Ring removal has always been some of the best in the cube.
Definitely an auto-include, my only question is auto-include in addition to or instead of Detention Sphere to make space in my Azorius section?
I would say in addition to. O-ring type effects are very desirable, and the U/W decks that are drafted at in my group that have access to D-sphere main it every time.
Um, are you breaking the singleton rule to have multiple d-spheres in your cube? That shouldn't be a factor unless there's some way to copy enchantments that I don't know about.

on an aside i'd say this is strictly worse than oring since you:
1) miss out on oring trigger shenanigans (ex. disenchant oring while ETB ability is on the stack for permanent exile)
2) miss out on targeting your own guys (ex. target your faiths fettered creature to drop the fetters, then flickerwisp to bounce the oring to hit something else, returning your creature back without fetters).
while these are pretty narrow cases... I agree. we basically got another oring.
I feel like there have been just as many times I couldn't play Oblivion Ring in fear of my opponent removing their only target in response (so I'd have to target my own) than being able to take advantage of the "permanently" removed trick.
Possibly neither? I'm going to take out Kor Haven, most-likely, for my replacement. I could see taking Fiend Hunter out if your spells section is pretty stacked. Hopefully you're playing Flickerwisp as well

I can now remove D-Sphere from my UW section! These effects are always welcome and it's great to see that Wizards likes it enough to continue pushing it and to provide us with a functional (almost) reprint.
I don't quite get how the printing of this card and the cutting of Detention Sphere are connected. For me, it seems obvious to find a white card to cut and leave the Azorius section alone.
I find it funny how almost everyone around here gets excited about what is mostly a functional reprint of an existing card, while there is another website about cube out there where the cubers find this boring and disappointing.

Agreed. While I wouldn't fault anyone for doing that, I believe Detention Sphere is still worth of a gold slot; they're similar effects but it's not like this card can deal with tokens, and D-Sphere does.
Detention Sphere is still one of the better cards in the Azorius slots, regardless of this card seeing print. I won't be cutting it, but it does mean I'd be more likely to consider something splashier in that slot in the future, in the same way Dreadbore feels less crucial since we got Hero's Downfall.
Very happy to see this card, splashable and powerful removal for any archetype is always welcome.

Ya, now I get to run O-Ring, Sphere AND this card. Just because we get great new removal doesn't mean I want to remove some of the best existing removal to do it...
I am surprised they did this, and with a very reprintable name. After a season of Restoration Angel shenanigans with fiend hunter and o-ring they are making it clear they want to close that rules loophole. So we get banisher priest and this. I am guessing we will see this in M16 after Theros rotates.
All that said I am buying a foil asap, the art is great, and it is a 360 staple.
As far as the d-sphere issue, it is in the top two with verdict for me. They are just cards the U/W control player wants, and they don't pull people into that guild with flashiness. Also my guild slots are so precious I like to put unique effects in when I can. They are 2 and 3 in that slot(Behind GoST) and I don't see us getting a better Azorious card any time soon.

vvv Yeah, it is not nearly on the same power level however, I'm completely fine still having it in my cube for removal that's easily splashed.

I still have Fiend Hunter so probably that.

Very nice to have an auto-include that's only uncommon. Not sure what I'll take out.

When they inevitably print a "fixed" Journey to Nowhere with this wording, that will probably be the first one that stays out.
