I think the flavor of the gods and planeswalker works exactly the same.
Quote from Planeswalker"s Guide to Theros, Part 1 »
Domains:Thassa is the god of the sea and also presides over aquatic creatures and the secrets of the briny deep. But she is also the god of ancient knowledge, murmurs, gradual change, introspection, vast distances, long voyages, and far-ranging searches. Thassa might also be described as the god of patterns, such as those of tides, currents, ripples in water, and even the passage of time.
Scry and unblockable seem to fit. The indestructible part is obviously because you can't simply destroy the presence of a god.
It's not an elegant card. I don't see how anyone could argue otherwise.
It is certainly not an elegant card, but it is a very flavorful one. Maybe one could argue that the fitting flavor that ties the abilities together to form a good representation of this goddess makes it elegant from a flavor perspective. Still, from a purely mechanical perspective it is quite inelegant.
As for Thassa in cube, I think that without turning her into a creature reliably, she is not worth it. And blue would have the most trouble turning her into a creature, since it is the color with the least permanents and many control oriented decks don't run that many (non-artifact) permanents anyway. So, she is probably a miss for me.

Since Scars, they've been designing with top-down mentality. Flavor is the number 1 priority. Cards are going to be like this for a while still. Honestly, I don't really mind. Despite it being a bit messy, we're seeing some very different designs. Inelegant or not, it's fairly interesting.
I'm cautiously excited about this God. The free Scry every turn is interesting and the activated ability is pretty decent too, not to mention cheap. I can't wait to test her out.

Agreed. Easily my favorite god so far. It's only 3 mana, and has two abilities that work well with what I want to be doing in my typical blue decks.
With this card, I may start swapping out some out some of the durdly blue cards and add more aggro/tempo creatures - to dream: 1 drop (ok there are no good blue one drops...cursecatcher? delver flipped doesn't count anymore toward devotion), coralhelm commander?, Thassa, scry - flip delver, aether adept, swing!
With my testing so far, I'd say she's probably more of a 450 card (blue 360 is just so damn hard to crack), and even there, she might get bumped to 540 in a set or two. It steals the control mirror though, which is pretty sweet, and she's been surprisingly reasonable to "animate". Blue has a lot of UU permanents, so she has (several times now) had a "surprise" activation by dropping one more permanent alongside a Clique or Baby Jace on the table. The big reason why she's good is the 3cmc. She comes down earlier, which benefits both of her abilities, because the repeatable scry is solid, but you want 3+ turns out of it in order to get your investment back. Like I said above, brutal in the control mirror for that reason.
When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
I am a fan of Thassa from a few drafts with it last night. Most games she just sat there and did the scry thing over and over to allow for unwanted cards to head to the bottom of the library. Then at the end of the game she would make Grave Titan or some other big nasty dude unblockable and win the game out of nowhere.
Hmm, thank you for the comments. It gives me a good perspective on her. A little disappointing, but I guess I agree she doesn't break into a 360 list.
I don't believe she is 360 worthy.
I'm happy to run her at 450, but I do have a decent amount of tempo support.
If I were to drop to 360 and power was the ultimate goal of my card composition a few tempoish cards and thassa would be the cards cut.
To be fair, it's pretty hard to evaluate her, even after playing her a few times...
The scry value is stretched out over many turns. She has a lot situational value as well... When she turns into a creature or the 1U: is relevant.
One of my favourite archtypes to draft is G/U tempo/opposition and she is fantastic in that deck.
Last night we got to see Thassa for a second time since we added her post-prerelease. She was consistently amazing. I was playing her in a UB ramp re-animate deck and her scry was incredibly useful. While she does seem good in control vs control match ups, she is also very good in combo-y decks where she helps find the pieces you want and thin your dead draws.
She is also amazing with control magic. Steal your blocker, swing for 5 is pretty insane.
In short, after two outings the whole group is impressed with her. She has secured her spot for the present.

Similar results here. She has been super sweet. Scrying every turn really helps you hit your reanimation/tinker pieces.
My understanding has really cooled on thassa, because i was offered a trade valuing her at $20, and said nah, she really insnt that important. At best, she isn't gamebreaking she's just good. I don't know if just good can make 360, I'm still going to test her but she isn't a sure inclusion. (only card from theros I don't have/haven't tested)
She's been good for us too. Repeatable scry on an indestructible platform is really nice. And consistent unblockability is important for making it useful, which she brings. Randomly becoming a 5/5 is just gravy.
I only just added it properly, but so far it's been pretty good. I really like that it's an extra playable in any deck, being only one U and being decent in every archetype. That's great for 2 player Winston drafts in particular. The scry every turn is great, turning bad or useless draws into good ones.
So now that the dust has settled… How many people still run this card? I have a 720 unpowered Cube, and I recently added her to my list, but I have not seen her in action yet.

I have no interest in it at 360.
I'll be making room to test her for sure. I'm also making room for Aether Adept.
