I like this card a good amount. Potentially digs 4 deep and it's pretty easy to cast. Seems like a conditionally easier to cast Sign in Blood, which some cubes still run.
I still like Night's Whisper (the original "easier to cast" Sign in Blood, lol) more, simply because of the mana savings, but this new card is just about as good (scry 2 is worth 1) and has cooler flavor.
It seems very close to being good enough for me. Digging up to 4 cards for 3 mana, only 1 of which is colored, is a strong effect. I think this will be a testable card in any cube above medium size.
Close, but black has way more quality 3 drops than it does 2 drops. I can't really see using this when Night's Whisper exists and is in a less competitive slot.
scry 2 eliminates the one or two useless cards you wil be getting so it roughly translates to Draw 3. Will include in pauper, but not in unpowered cube.
Weird. While I am super hot for Omenspeaker, Read the Bones leaves me rather cold and will probably not make it into my 600 cards cube. I guess it has something to do with the low number of good blue 2-drops and the plethora of black spells that cost life.
As WTW mentioned, Night's Whisper is better, and I cut it a while back. I'll take a 2 mana draw spell over a 3 mana draw spell with scrye 2. It hurt to lose Whisper too, as I had made a cool foil proxy to replace the terrible art on the card.
I really like this card. Not sure it's good enough, but it's really close. If my cube were 540 cards or larger, I'd definitely try it out. At 500, I'll give it a whirl and hope it performs.
Awsome card, could be underestimating it, but think it's just short of making my 450.
Draw spells are wanted most in control, and tapping out for 3 mana and taking damage hurts a lot. The effect is really really good though.
Read the Bones was discussed here in the Random Cube Card of the Day thread. You don't have to read it, but make no bones about it, your missing out of you don't.
I think this card is extremely underrated. I have been very impressed by this. For one more mana you get Scry 2 with Night's Whisper. Being able to filter AND draw is so big, especially in black.
Sorcery 2B
Scry 2, then draw two cards. You lose two life.
