I think keeping just one of those two 2BB sweeper cards at 450 is a good move as along as you already have Damnation. One of the weak points of black aggro is shallow pool of two-drops, and the Scrivener definitely helps to address that.

I don't run either at 500 so I certainly would drop both at 450, assuming you are running the usual suite of white and multicolored sweepers, Disk, and Bane of the Living and Living Death. Scrivener is definitely a good replacement for at least the Barter in Blood.
I'd say Scrivener sneaks into the top 10, which is otherwise pretty clear cut except for their relative order (not counting Bitterblossom). In light of which, I think makes him super fringe for 360 and a possible/likely inclusion in all Cubes sizeably larger than that. I've yet to be convinced that Pox y/n? will be a decisive factor in playing him, but its possible.
I will say that he doesn't merit this much discussion as he is just obvious filler. Personally I think hes worse than advertised in this thread because everyone seems to be taking the fallback that hes normally just Goblin Pikers, which is acceptable. Newsflash, Goblin Piker is horrible and about as "acceptable" as herpes.
That's not really fair, it's just that if trading it as a 2/1 is actually better than leaving him around to generate card advantage, then that's what you have to do. Sometimes you have to trade Oracle of Mul Daya for Goblin Guide, but if you're on 2 it's certainly better than not blocking at all.
I am reinstating black aggro in my 360, and he's going to be a part of that to see how it works out. Looks okay, not great. A discard outlet would make it spectacular.
Just about he was in testing after being spoiled. For each time he trades with a dude in combat or eats removal, he'll go hellbent and draw somewhere between 1 and 3 cards in a game. He averages play as somewhere around a 2cc zombie 2/1 Phyrexian Rager. That card would likely be better because of increased consistency, but the games where this guy gives you runaway CA is pretty sweet.
Finally got some play time with this fellow last night. He was great! In one game he just acted like a 2/1 beater for a few turns and died to removal, which was fine. In another, he drew a ton of extra cards for me, and sealed the win. It's great to have a creature that's fine in the early game, but not a dead draw in the late game.
I just drafted him last night in actual RTR limited. The times you draw 2 it's really nice. I think I had like 6 triggers in 4 loose rounds (only drew and played him in 3 games). Idk how he translates into cubes, but if you can get his effect even half the time, it's well worth it.

I mean, hell, we're all on a forum for something that most people would describe as a "children's card game"...do what makes you happy. You are never too old to enjoy yourself.
I've had mixed results. Trading with everything kinda sucks, but drawing cards has been sweet. It's one of those cards that I think is fine, but would have no problem replacing once they print something better.
First time he's been drafted and I ran him in a pox deck last night. Got him into play as I went hellbent thanks to my balance making me discard down to 2 cards, play land and scrivener. Then I sat a drew 2 cards a turn for 3 turns until i was stomped flat by my wife's GW natural order / birthing pod deck. :-(
Blood Scrivener seems pretty good though, could have drawn me out of that bad spot if it wasn't for my deck being terrible...
Yeah he's on my chopping block too. I'm thinking of pulling him for Abyssal Persecutor (I know totally different slot but I feel I have enough 2cc already).
I doubt I'll remove him soon. He's pretty easy to 'switch on' in my cube, where black has the lowest curve of any colour and is likely to run fewer lands. Sometimes just being a 2/1 zombie is actually OK.

He's trying to unseat Blood Seeker, Nezumi Graverobber, Reassembling Skeleton, Undertaker or Vampire Hexmage. Worth it, IYHO?

In my limited experience with Scrivener I would only put it behind Graverobber on that list so I would definitely play it.
Edit: For a regular 1v1 Cube. I would definitely put it ahead of Undertaker and probably Blood Seeker as well in a multiplayer Cube.

Throw Undertaker out and get Scrivener in.
I used to write cube articles on StarCityGames, now for GatheringMagic and podcast about cube (w/Antknee42.)
That was how I was leaning too. Sold!
I've got Tortured Existence and Recurring Nightmare in my cube already, so I don't think we'll miss Undertaker too much.
