For six mana and moderately difficult casting cost, it better be good.
I don't really need another fat creature in this color combination, but I'll cube with it if there's nothing else I want in the set. Larger Boros decks show up in my cube from time to time.
And at least it looks like a fun card to cast and attack with.
I don't think that's fair. Your players looked at a card they had never seen and didn't even try it out. IMO, you should wait until it actually gets played or try and draft it yourself before judging it too harshly.

It's a 100% fair statement, it just doesn't say much about the cards power level, beyond the fact that it might not appeal to many players or fit in many decks, which was probably already a given.
Aurelia was a total killer card in the pre-release, but that was to be expected.
Her problem is not that she is not good enough, but that Boros decks are often more aggro centric. In slower, more controllish builds (or as a top end of a midrange deck) she will finish games very quick. Even when cheated into play with reanimation, Eureka, Show and Tell or Sneak Attack she should be very playable in cube. I am just not sure that she is what Boros needs in cube, but I think a lot of people underestimate how hard she can hit. I got up to 14-16 damage easily today in the prerelease and those creatures are peanuts compared to what cube has to offer.

Amen to that. It stole two games from me that its owner had no business being in, let alone winning.
As far as Cube is concerned, I think it is strong enough for cube as a top end, but it isn't really splashable, so you can't play it in the decks that might want it most. I wouldn't fault anybody for running it, I just have it too far down in the pecking order in 360 to give it a shot (under Ajani, Helix, Boros Charm, and Figure of Destiny at the very least).

That's not really testing! I'm sure if anyone added tarmogoyf to a cube when future sight came out, that'd also be true. Ditto for Stoneforge Mystic.
Draft it on Cubetutor!
