I vote for spellbound dragon.
"Casting sorceries as flash" still hasn't come up for me. Hypersonic is basically Volcanic Dragon with 1R replaced with U.
Spellbound, on the other hand, is great. Good blocking and improved card quality are a nice package. Also, watch out if you discard something hefty.
Hypersonic. I much prefer haste and the possibility of playing Draw-go to something that is only as powerful as your hand is.
I prefer spell bound for almost the exact same reasons, and a couple more. Hypersonic is arguably more a victim of "only as powerful as your hand is." since his ability is only relevant if the rest of your hand is good sorceries. At least spell bound loots. Another plus to spell bound is he blocks better, can abuse some graveyard strategies, and survives wildfire.
The haste can be relevant, because it's more likely to guarantee you damage. But the Spellbound survives Wildfire and friends, which is a nice bonus. I don't think either make it into anything but particularly large cubes.
Also, shouldn't these types of threads be in the This or That thread? I thought that's what the sticky was for.
Though both look pretty weak for a gold card, I give the edge to Hypersonic Dragon. Haste is a very relevant ability.
They should have given it flash as well. That would have been interesting.
I play spellbound now, tho it's still a low impact card. He blocks nicely and survives wildfire etc. The looting is what makes him better - overall dmg can be higher over a couple of turns.
It's too slow and fragile for a 5-drop. By the time I've drawn some cards and shot some creatures with the Chemister, my opponent would've been dead from one of the dragons.

Depends on what you're playing. Chemister can be almost unbeatable in times when the dragons are fairly easy to block down. Removal on a stick and a card draw engine, where Spellbound draws you slowly and doesn't get you card advantage, and Hypersonic doesn't gain you any value at all.
Think about it this way. I'd rather draft tons of cards over these two dragons to have a dumb beater; Consecrated sphinx and Inferno Titan come to mind. Chemister does something completely different, but is still in the "answer me now or die" territory, much more so than the dragons since you can't simply muscle past him as easily.
But you probably won't have tons of cards, because the card is vulnerable to everything. I don't play 5cc gold cards that die that easily without providing value.

The two dragons also die to everything, three damage burn spells notwithstanding. It ends up being risk/reward. A Master of the Wild Hunt sort of deal.
Chemister really could find another slot if you must have another Craw dragon, though. He can replace Chandra Nalaar if you support red control.
Master is a 4-mana one color card. I like Chandra a lot more than this guy, and it's only one color. There are a lot more cards in the cube that can kill Chemister than the 2 dragons, and the haste dragon gets value against most of those answers because of the haste.
You asked for opinion about the Chemister. I think it's pretty bad. I think both the dragons are better, and they're already not good enough.
Disregarding everything else you need to loot a 5 drop for them to deal equal damage in the first two turns.
Spellbound Dragon Lives through wildfire an Can lead to a super blowout, while also filtering your cards
Hypersonic dragon can deal more damage faster on average and makes sorceries instants. I prefer HD.
Although i also prefer Mercurial chemister to Spellbound Dragon because the chemister is so versatile, if he lives...
I only run HD of the three, and hes still in testing.

Yes, you're totally correct.
In any case, I think I value Haste over Looting, all else being equal.

Tantarus: It didn't make the gaka greifer level, so it should be fine
I like hypersonic better but think neither is necessary until something like 1200 cards.
Spellbound's looting was really awkward for me because I simultaneously really wanted to discard land and really didn't want to only get 3 damage in with my 5 drop.
FIGHT!
I'm having a hard time picking which one is better, personally.

Both are very much under construction. Please stop by and talk about it!

It's ok either way. You can make a separate thread for questions like these or put it directly in the This or That thread.
