I took the Phoenix out for Hell's Thunder. It gets the damage there much faster than Chanda's pet. My group would only ever bother with the phoenix with sweepers or a large flying blocker it was such a low key threat for 3 mana. Spot removal just landed on my hellriders and such.
I still run Phoenix, as red 3-drops still are on the weaker side and I do like the evasion. I've also won/lost games because of the rebuys on it as well. It stays for me (for now) at unpowered 540.

I don't quite get this; in two attacks they are even, and with a third attack Phoenix is ahead...and Thunder won't come back for quite a long time in red agro decks (if you are drawing a nice ratio of lands/spells. Do your games not last until t4? =/
I can say nothing more about Squee than my previous post
I was close to cutting Squee for a time but decided to force draft him and some interactions with him to be certain. It turned out that I liked him a lot more after that and I've kept him around. He's a nice fill card when you have those few interactions and even without them he's a blocker every turn or carries a sword every turn.
As for Phoenix, I still like it, just not super excited about it. I don't like Pyrewild, though.

For me, Squee is part of the core of what makes CUBE fun. He provides a relief from a core mechanic/drawback in the game that is rarely found elsewhere(discard). I can relate him to a card like Crucible of Worlds that changes a base rule of the game for the player using it. Those types of interactions are always powerful tools worth building with.
He's fun to build around or just throw in to see what great interactions come up with your opponents cards. He's a reusable blocker and interacts with so many cards it's just silly. I also like to use him with recurring nightmare and birthing pod. I often search him up with fauna shaman or Survival of the Fittest even if I'm not playing red. He's also a consitent source of damage with cards like Goblin Bombardment.
Most recursive creatures like Gravecrawler and Bloodghast can't block. Squee gets around this drawback even if he's a little more pricy as well as having a much more powerful recursive effect. He's solidly included in my 450 cube and will likely never leave.
I could see cutting Chandra's Phoenix, but it's currently still in my list.
Decks that can use Squee really don't need it. Same idea with how I cut Purphoros: he needs tokens, but tokens doesn't need him. Squee needs discard outlets like Survival of the Fittest, but Survival doesn't need Squee at all.

I don't agree with this. Porforus is still busted for us. Tokens are great, but Purphoris is the best card in a token deck. And Squee is still broken with Survival, Fauna Shaman and random stuff like Skullclamp.
I do think it depends on how you draft and how big your cube is. The smaller your cube is the better and the more cards you see more during the draft the better. In a 720 Cube Squee might just end up being a recurrable 1/1 for 2R, which is very crappy. In our cube (8 player Rochester) he is always part of some broken combo (or ends up in a sideboard). We don't see it as a red card, but as a 0CC colourless card.
Squee is amazing. So many ridiculous interactions everywhere. Not leaving my cube.
Pack Rat's, Masticores, Pox effects. Love it

I use descriptive language. Assume that I'm being nice and respectful. (I'll tell you when I'm not.)

Saw this thread and decided to see what I could make. Not a perfect list, but pretty darn good.

That's funny... I just drafted this from Humpty's list: http://www.cubetutor.com/cubedeck/43941
Edit: I counted 8 interactions in Theogeny's deck. Theogeny wins by a nose!
