Trivia
* Just missed: Sower of Temptation (2.8), Show and Tell (2.5)
* With less 'unpowered' votes this year, Ancestral Recall has a near-perfect #1 ranking (19.1 out of a maximum of 20.0, over a 17.3 last year), with Time Walk and Jace, the Mind Sculptor also keeping last year's #2 and #3 places.
* Rise and Fall: #12 Dig Through Time is this year's only blue newcomer, and Time Spiral (#19 last year) is the one to leave the Top 20. Most cards didn't move more than 3 places in the ranking, the exceptions being Meloku (#15 to #19) and Venser (#16 to #20) both going 4 places down, and Phyrexian Metamorph's great fall of 6 positions (from #12 to #18).
* 52 different cards received votes.
And Mana Drain should be third. That card is nearly Power. You have an already strong card (Counterspell) and then get a one-time boost of 2, 3 or even 4for absolutely free! That is insane mana acceleration in the early game. A turn two or three Drain can effectively win the game due to the incredible tempo swing. Jace, the Mind Sculptor is a super strong card, but it is like a fair card compared to Drain. It costs four mana and it takes a few turns to get full value from it. Tinker is capable of equally broken plays as Drain, but needs more set-up and a specific deck. Therefore, I would rank it below Drain if we were considering general power level. Since we are talking about first picks here and you can draft you whole deck around your first pick, I can see it making a higher place than Drain though. (Btw, while there is a strong correlation between general/average power and first pick priority, cards like Tinker have a discrepancy here. If we were ranking cards by their average gameplay power alone, I would place it a lot lower.)
I'm guessing metamorph fell a bit due to the printing of Clever Impersonator. While it didn't make the top 20 I wouldn't be shocked if a few votes were pulled away from it for that card.

Well, Clever Impersonator got absolutely no votes.
Over half the rankings (14 out of 25) this year simply didn't include Phyrexian Metamorph at all - including influential cubers like wtwlf123, hardb0dy, rantipole, calibretto. And me, too.
Yup, Metamorph snuck in at 20 on my own list, narrowly beating out Cryptic Command since I decided I'm more likely to choose Metamorph P1P1 to remain open and not dedicate myself to Blue.

Funny enough I already cut Clever Impersonator from my cube. I wouldn't have guessed it would have such a short stay when I first brought it in.
Same here.
I really like Metamorph but the clone variants are super variable so I don't take them that highly. They are great mid-pack picks. I will grab Metamorph immediately if I'm in the Tinker/artifact deck. Also good in Sneak Attack, as Sneaking in an Inferno Titan and then hardcasting or Sneaking in Metamorph to copy it is pretty boss.
But cuttups's talking about results outside the top 20 and other people's votes made me think on a way to give access to whoever want to see my data on the rankings.
