FAQ (Shamelessly stolen from Juju's threads in the spirit of, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it.")
1. What's a Secret Santa?
A Secret Santa is where where the people who sign up give gifts anonymously to other members of the group. Each person who signs up will be given a random person to send a gift to, and will receive a gift from a random person in return. It's a nice way for everyone to get a gift, without having to spend lots of money.
2. Is this for me?
If you're a member of this esteemed Cube Forum, and you have a desire to connect with the community by giving (and receiving!) gifts, then this could very well be for you. We have had some issues in the past with people not sending gifts etc. so while we do not wish to be exclusionary, we do expect you to meet some criteria. Ideally, you are an active poster within the cube forum, and you have a cube, or are building a cube yourself. I reserve the right to deny entry into the Secret Santa if you are a very new member (i.e. no posts, or no posts in the cube forum). Please don't be offended!
3. Is this expensive? How do I know what to get?
Slow down there! That's two questions! We have found that a gift of around $15 in value (or more) is reasonable, as that can really make someone's day with a cube staple or two. Be as generous as you like, however! Everybody's budget is a little bit different, so don't feel bad if $15 is all you can muster. The most important thing is just the fun of giving and receiving some cube goodies.
As for the question of what to get, I will be asking people who sign up to send me a wishlist of cards that they want. Please make your wishlist as big as you can possibly make it, to give your Santa more options!
4. Do I have to give cards?
Nope! You can get as creative as you like. If you've signed up, at your request, I can potentially ask your recipient if they would like something that isn't on their wishlist. For example, I usually ask if they would be happy to receive altered cards. (However, please understand that most people are looking for cards. If your partner has specifically requested cards, please honor that.)
5. Hot Damn, how do I sign up?
Follow these steps:
1. Reply in this thread with your intention to sign up.
2. Private Message me (DSF) with your postal details and your wishlist. Please give as much information as you can in order to make it easy on your Santa. Feel free to link to wishlists or collections on other sites.
3. I will then get back to you when signups close with your recipient's details. (Sign-ups will close December 1st so I can have partners made by Sunday, December 3rd and people can have some time to shop.)
6. How soon should I mail my gift?
As soon as you can! You don't want your gift to arrive late, so get on it! Remember that holiday shipping can take some time, and international shipping even a little bit more time.
7. What do I do when I receive my gift?
Post a picture of it up here in this thread, and don't forget to say thanks! It's great to see the gifts that get sent each year.
8. Could I be asked to send to someone in another country?
It's possible, and we want to have this activity open to everyone on the forum. In order for someone in Ireland or Korea or Dominaria to participate, we need to have people willing to send around the multiverse. If sending internationally is completely out of your budget and you feel strongly that you are not comfortable with that possibility, contact me via PM. However, if you're willing to ship one or two singles without tracking, an international stamp is only #1.15 in the US.
I'd like to sign up. I haven't participated in the cube forum much over the past year but I broke out my old 4-player cube recently since I found a new LGS. The guys there have never cubed so I'm trying to get them into it. I've been an active member of the forums and the trading community here for nearly 10 years, hopefully that qualifies me.
The more the merrier! You guys both have established a presence in the cube forum. That guideline is really just to keep completely unknown people from creating an account and leeching off the exchange without holding up their end of the bargain.
Does someone else want to do the pairings if DSF is too busy? I can manage but I could do it over the weekend (right? Maybe its more complex than I'm giving it credit for) it if no one else can, but I'm fairly busy over Christmas. It would be fairly handy to get my gift bought and sent so I can take it off my Christmas gift budget.

If it would be trouble, I could do it as well, it wouldn't be a problem for me. Whatever happens, we should probably figure something out soon, though, if we want people to have time to shop and ship for their recipients to get their gifts before the year is over.
Let's nominate someone to make the selections. It's as easy as pulling names from a hat and copy/pasting the wish lists. I'm fairly busy with work but I could easily devote 20 minutes to this tonight.
That's fine, I'll take care of the matching and wish list distribution. Looks like there are only 8 people participating (judging by the replies in this thread) so if everyone can forward me their original PM to DSF, I will draw names and copy/paste wish lists ASAP. I reserve the right to fall back on DSF should he pop up to reclaim the thread.

Don't forget to include your postage information along with your wish list!
I owe you all an apology. I committed to do this, and then both my own grades for my middle school classes were due this week, as well as two big projects for grad school. I didn't manage my time well and I'm sorry.
FuneralofGod - if you sent pairings out or are in the middle of doing so, go ahead. If not and you'd like me to resume, let me know. I'll PM you.
Thanks everybody for your patience, and again I apologize.
Sparki/Aspen, if you do want to participate, please get me info today so that I can get things going. Otherwise we just have to roll without you so that I'm not holding things up any further.

If these 4 instead to participate and get me their info ASAP, I would be happy to finish the pairings myself.
