I started playing MTG not too long ago, and finally my collection grew out of the Deckbuilders Toolkit Box.
Now I have bought the Cocraft Carry Lite Suitcase, which has 10 detatchable compartments which fits a whopping 230 unsleeved cards (sideloaded) each, and 5 compartments at 50% the size for accessories.
The case is technically made for tools, so it's really sturdy, with two great locks and a good handle.
The lid sits right on top of the compartments, so even the smallest plastic tokens won't fall out of its place.
Price: about $40
(I use Ultimate Guard Supreme Matte Sleeves)
Hey guys!
Has anyone has tried printing on Ultra Pro perfect sleeves before?
I want to include textless cards but want to print the oracle text on the inner sleeve so that it can be understood by newbies.
That's a really cool idea, but I've never tried it. Our printers at school can print on transparencies, so the idea of printing on plastic at least seems plausible. That's a slightly different type of plastic though, so I don't know if there are any pitfalls.
I am about to complete a 450 card Pauper cube sleeved with Dragon Shield sleeves (Plus 400 sleeved basic lands). I want them in a convenient box to carry, that will also have room for a selection of token cards and some Fallen Empires boosters (For Booster Tutor). What box will snuggly fit these things that I can still fit in a back pack to bring to work and then my LGS? Or more simply, what box snuggly fits 1000 sleeved cards?
Too many is better than not enough, but 400 basics is overkill. For 10 person drafts 40-50 of each basic land will be more than enough.
As for cases, it looks like the Quiver is back, and it should be the right size for your cube. The Stack'n'Safe is a good budget option that would be big enough for your cube (but not the lands). It's the first cube storage box reviewed on this Tolarian Community College video. You could keep the lands in a Fat Pack or Deckbuilder's Toolkit box.

I have 40 of each juuuuuust in case (which would be 200 total) and clearly it's never even been close to an issue. That's enough basics for two people to be mono red and two other people to be splashing red. Keep in mind, in cube you'll have way more non-basics than in typical limited.
400 is double what I run as an in-the-absolute-worst-case scenario.
I've had 30-35 of each basic for the last ~10 years of cube drafting, and I've never once run out.
A Pauper cube would need more basics, though, because they usually run a lot fewer fixing lands. Most Pauper lists I've seen only run the Ravnica bounce lands and maybe also the KTK tap duals. I use the same basic lands box when I draft my Peasant cube which has 3 cycles of duals (bounce, KTK, and tri-lands) plus the Vivids, and I've come a lot closer to running out of certain colors when I draft Peasant.

Even in a pauper cube for 8 people. 30-35 are going to never be a problem. At least, it never did for mine.
Has anybody ever made fabric "boosters" to put the cards into for packs? I'm considering taking on that project this summer.
I've been googling for awhile trying to find someone that could make something like that. I currently use the ultro-pro team bags but after a few uses I need to replace them. Something exactly like the team bags but made of fabric/leather with a magnetic closure would be ideal. Let me know if you end up making something like that.

This is the fabric I'm most likely planning to use: http://www.spoonflower.com/fabric/2881194-magic-gathering-by-amacejka
That website lets you order in a variety of different fabrics. I think satin would have a cool feel to it, but I'm going to ask some people I know who sew what they think would hold up best. Magnets are probably a better system for a closure than the velcro too. Thanks for the idea!
The question is just when I'll find time to get around to it.

Anyway, just get a couple of BCW boxes (http://www.bcwsupplies.com/cat/trading-card/trading-card-boxes/800-card-storage-box) and fill in blank space with little boxes (duel decks, old pre-con decks, whatever fits) to make things snug.
