I started with ultrapros and they split like a banana. 2 years ago I switched to KMC Hypermattes and they've been amazing. Basically indestructible - in 2 years, I'm maybe replaced 10 sleeves. In fact, I'm getting ready to resleeve not because they're busting, but because the fronts are starting to scuff up and get a little foggy.
What I'm really looking for is this: I'd like durable sleeves with a design printed on them (because it's a huge pet peeve when people put my cube cards back upside down. Sadly I don't know of anyone that makes decent sleeves with images printed on them. Any recommendations?

Which hypermattes? I've had at least 100 greens split on me in 6 months.
So as I get closer to getting my cube completed, I'm starting to look at storage (for all the cards I have are sleeved in a fat pack box I have, but thats not gonna fit all 450 cards sleeved + lands + tokens + Conspiracy pack if I include that), so I was curious as to what the cheaper options that are still worth while.
I'll be picking up Hyper Matte with KMC perfect fits for the sleeves (Although, there was a strong argument for picking up these, but the quality wasn't too good from what I heard and additionally they're out of print), but I was thinking about just picking up an 800ct cardboard storage box for now. However I was curious if you guys have found any other options that are fairly cheap, being under 20$-ish.
I use a reinforced holiday gift box. My cube is 500 cards. I'll attach a picture. The box in it holds dice. Left side is lands and tokens. It is double sleeved.
Reinforced with what? I use a holiday gift box, too, and one of the corners is getting shabby. I was considering the universal reinforcement (duct tape) but also wondered if something better was out there.
I'm using the heavy duty clear packing tape on all the corners and it also holds the dividers to the bottom of the box. I made sure the corners were well taped and slightly thicker so the box lid fits a bit more snug.
That seems like a pretty good option. I have a Holiday box from Return to Ravnica and it's falling apart slightly at the corners and I was curious as to how to fix the corners without glue and such. Maybe I'll convert it into the cube box, I'd only be worried if that I wanted to throw it into my backpack, I don't know if it'd stay closed and if it'd even fit because how square it is. However, I do like this option far better than just the cardboard storage box though, since I forgot to take into account that it'd probably take two Cardboard boxes to actually hold the cube. Thanks Sparki!

No problem! I'm not sure what kind of bag you have, but my box fits in both my backpack and my messenger bag pretty well. I haven't had any problems with it opening up in the bag.
The RTR boxes are actually the most sturdy out of the three, so you're lucky! The newer boxes are much weaker.
I've been searching high and low for a rook endura steel case for quite some time now, and I just cannot find one on the internet. I've seen these used for cubes before, they're pretty great. Does anyone know where I can find one / is anyone selling one? I'll pay a lot of money for the case.
Thanks.

They're out of business years ago. Your only hope is basically hoping one pops up on eBay or something. No website will have it.
So read somewhere here that someone uses the sticky-sleeve baggies that come with the ultra-pro sleeves off the shelf to store their "packs" for cubing. Does anyone know where or if those can be bought separately? I'd like to try that out for re-packing the packs.

The items you are looking for are called "team bags". You can buy them in packs of 100 for around $4.
This is what I'm currently using for my type-4 stack, but I imagine it would be good for a cube as well. Can hold up to 600 sleeved cards, so it's perfect if you're running a 360 cube with 200-ish basics. As you can see, it's also possible to stow away packs of sleeves in the lid.
It's light weight, very well constructed, the cards fit perfectly, and the best part? It's only 17 bucks at Bed Bath & Beyond!

So who is currently double sleeving using KMC Hyper Mats?
I want to resleeve my cube, and I heard Hyper Mats are awesome, but they are a little short, particularly if you double sleeve. Anyone care to weigh in on the issue?
They're exactly the right length for double sleeving with KMC's perfect fits. I find them a little short for some of my cards that I have in Ultra Pro perfect fits, but I don't buy those anymore so it's basically not an issue. Double sleeving with KMC perfect fits and Hyper Mattes is the ideal sleeving practise, in my opinion.

The only issue is that you aren't sleeving this way.
Thanks guys. I just made an order for some White Hyper Mats for my cube. Hopefully they're awesome! I've been using regular KMC Mat Black for the past 5 years.

I have now sleeved 12 EDH decks with ultra pro pro fit sleeves and hyper mat sleeves. I'm perfectly happy with them but have experienced about 5-7 pro fits that were too big for the hyper mat sleeve so I just cut them down a little myself and they work perfectly. I find that the ultra pro are inexpensive enough that I'll keep using those pro fit but the KMC hyper mat are so superior that I'd pay more if necessary to get them.
Copying from my cube thread, so I don't have to retype this, for those interested in building their own (or having someone else do it for them)...
This was built for me from old jarrah offcuts. Jarrah is one of the hardest woods on the planet (and they use it for bridges, jetties and railway sleepers in my neck of the woods), so you can imagine how much this thing weighs. It is lined on the inside with blue felt. The ribbon in the picture is loose, and just used as a divider between the cube and the basic land / creature tokens.
You too can build one like this if you (or someone you know) has the skill to. Mine was built to the following dimensions - L 15 1/4", H 3", W 3 13/16". These dimensions are the measurements of the internal space inside the box - you can make the outside as big or small as you choose. To fit a bigger cube, make the length figure of 15 1/4" longer. The other two measurements are absolutely spot on (the width is particularly important... you do not want to go over or under this figure). As can be seen above, it holds the 360-card cube and 150 land quite comfortably. The guy who came up with the original measurements says that this length should hold a 500-card cube snugly.
