Anyone here ever play Dragon Strike? The pic below is the game, although not in English. It's very much like D&D, but with a board and prewritten campaigns.
That game was so awesome. I used to play that for hours with friends back then. Between me and a friend, we had the base game two times and every addon at least once. Those were some huge campaigns
Also, StarQuest. Or as many of you know it: Space Crusade. Obviously also including all the expansions, sometimes in multiples.
And the obvious crossovers between the two. Eldar with blackholeguns versus goblins with knifes, anyone? Fun times.
Hero Quest was the first "nerdy" game I ever owned. I think that I got it at christmas 1990. Ohh the memories...
I soon moved on from that though, and began to play Warhammer and all other GW games, followed by magic in 1994. From their I haven't looked back, and have played all games that can be played with cardboard, on a kitchentable or with a computer.
But it was "Hero Quest" that started the adventure.
A card game I like is Tichu. I also enjoy playing our 'national card game', Jass.
A board game we play is Dog. It is basically a variant of a very well known game (well, only in Switzerland as I just realized; we call it 'Eile mit Weile', Parcheesi seems to be quite close) but played with cards instead of dice. That reduces the luck-factor somewhat.
Work has blocked my forum usage so I'm forced to use my phone to browse and post. Anyone else do this and find it as troublesome as I do? Stupid work, wanting me actually be productive.

Haha... I just hope my company aren't listening...
Actually I'm working for a consultant agency atm, so I'm a new place every two months or so. A bit stressful, but ensures that they can't switch off the MTGS forums.... Muahahahaha
Well I just changed jobs. I work I.T. in banking and just moved from a small community bank to a larger state wide bank. The new job has a lot more internet restrictions. Boo on that.
I was gonna ask if there could be an off-topic thread, I'm really glad that there is one.
If you're a fan of the Angry Video Game Nerd (and you probably should be) - he did a video on Heroquest pretty recently (NWS language). Not as good as I'd have hoped, but pretty good, I used to love Heroquest (and Dragonstrike) back in the day.
I never really got into tabletop games because I could never get the group going, but I have enjoyed games like Dominion. There was a time recently when I wanted to cube and people wanted to board game instead, which was quite annoying.
I'm mostly a console gamer, if you've noticed from my proxies, there are a pretty good amount of video game related ones. It's interesting in that my final paper for my capstone course (done with that class, sooo glad) was about UbiSoft and I pretty much knew about the franchises without doing any research - although some things were pretty interesting finds, like finding out that Jordan Mechner is co-writing the Prince of Persia movie, though it's being done by Bruckheimer Studios, so I'm... holding out hope on it.
I really haven't had time to play video games much as of late, but I mostly enjoy RPGs and adventure type games. I have a fond appreciation for early-late 90s video games, something about the feel of games at the time when the medium was exploring 3D technology and the fact that, at the time, gaming was about as cool as being a leper.
That's what I'm referring to. He does reviews of board games occasionally as well (I never played the NES game [edit - for good reason, as I found, because it was never released] though the music for it is amazing, there's an NSF file of it online and there are youtube videos of the audio. I think there are mp3s too somewhere.)
[huh, video isn't loading. Ah well. But yeah, the video covers the board game.]
It was just like that too... we'd get all set up and then my buddies would lose interest like half the way through a quest. Took like 3 sittings to finish one quest. Fun times!
I just went to take my last final. I thought I had until tommorow but it closed today. ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺. That thing was worth most of the grade in the class. ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺. I just flunked that class. ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺. I know the teacher isn't going to open it up so I can take it. ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺. I had a 3.5 gpa for the rest of my first semester. ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺ ☺☺☺☺. My financial aid is dependant on me keeping a 3.0 average. ☺☺☺☺
I'm screwed.

Yes master....
So does this mean you have dominion over more than just the cube forum now?
Are you going to bring the hammer down on us harder now that you're more than just the custodial engineer of the cube forum?
And sorry to hear about your class, Pringlesman.

Ha... can't argue with stone cold facts.
Congrats on the mod position, BK. I think you'll be great at it.
EDIT: I watched Sorority Row today. Great flick if you like awful cheesy horror/thriller movies.
