I'd love to replace my proxy, but I'm not so sure about the price going down. Karakas is still very expensive, cheapest are around 65€ on MCM ...
I think it will drop a lot. P3K is hard to obtain; a lot of the high price stems from this. See Xiahou Dun, Diaochan and Loyal Retainers - their JR prices dropped significantly relative to the original ones on reprinting. was preordering about £100 for the judge foil at one point, and I recently bought one for about £9. Karakas is just widely played in EDH, but I expect the judge foil to drop a fair bit. I was looking some on MKM but held off so far. After all, it's very new. I don't want an Imperial Recruiter, but were I in the market for one I would wait a while - I think it will be more reasonably priced.
While I don't like foil cards, I really, really hate the stupid p/t symbols on Portal creatures. I also hate paying over 200 € for a small utility creature. I really hope that this promo will cost significantly less. Hm, looks like my cube may get his first judge promo in a few months.

This card will settle around 50-100, since it's legacy playable as well as an EDH card.

Kranny: Do you think that this is why there was that run on Alurens about 3-4 weeks ago? That someone had advance knowledge of this promo?

It's obviously all conjecture at this point, but I personally believe this to be the case. Making a run on a low-dollar Reserved List card isn't necessarily out of the ordinary, but given that this was within just a couple weeks is just too coincidental.

I agree, it seems way too coincidental. I had a lot of the same thoughts that you went over on your podcast regarding this incident, and now it all seems to click into place.
Was this just revealed today? Has the rest of the interwebs been citing the run of Alurens in reference to this?

It was just revealed today. There was a small stir this morning, but not nearly enough people are upset over it. In reality this is worse than the Godbook incident. This isn't someone taking info to win tournaments, they used it to personally make money. Completely unacceptable.
This is much more akin to insider trading on Wall Street, which landed quite a number of people in jail. I'm personally pretty offended by it, and am looking forward to hitting some social media with complaints later today.
I'm thinking of starting a SCD on Booster Tutor. It depends a bunch on your Cube size/environment I think. If you only draft half your Cube then you could randomly get something great from the undrafted half.
At 360, what we do is draft 15 card packs but the 15th pick in each pack gets put aside to be part of the Booster Tutor pool. This simulates the fact that packs now only have 14 cards and a land. And yes, Booster Tutor has ended up in this pile for us before. The irony.
So gee, no one drafted black aggro, green aggro, red control or a few random sideboard cards that are strictly filler.
Its fun to shuffle up 15 cards when someone casts it and see what they get but no one wants to open that "pack" -- its got nothing but the archetypes that NO ONE IS PLAYING.
Incidentally, that list is real but that also happens to be a large chunk of the cards we are considering purging from our Cube. (Not so) coincidentally.
Only if you use an house rule to change the meaning of "booster pack" to include "homemade booster packs". The card's intent is that you crack open a new sealed product each time you resolve it.
I am not sure I would call that a house rule (and this is coming from someone who dislikes Un-cards and house rules). In a Cube draft it seems logical to call a cube booster (homemade as you say) a booster pack. What are we supposed to call them? Packs, Bunch of cards?
Otherwise you could say that booster draft with a Cube is not real booster drafting because you make your own boosters.
I get what you're saying Nof, but that has always seemed ridiculously anal retentive to me, and is a prime case of following "the letter of the law" rather than "the spirit of the law."
Well, the spirit of the law is that you crack open new boosters each time you use it. It's even in the joke of the flavor text, with cracking open Arabian Night boosters as a sign of virility.
But as always, to each its own, my point is not that you're doing it wrong by playing with houserules. It's just hard to make a SCD thread on a card that is mostly played with erratas, which means that each group basicaly play a different card. Chaos Orb has the same problem, for example.
Yeah, cards that shift between groups make discussion on them difficult. That is still the letter of the law though. The spirit of the law is that that cards you look at to choose from are random. That's the fun of the card. The letter of the law is that it has to be a booster pack to find those 15 random cards.
I really hate how many of the SCD threads contain discussions about other cards or whole archetypes / groups of cards.
It would be nice to see the moderators encourage the other members to more discipline there.
Every SCD I've read has given me plenty of information as to how player's perceive the card in question. A few are weird because they seem to be split from another thread disucssing something else but I don't think it is a major problem personally.

I've been annoyed lately as well, especially when they lead into dead horse discussions.

Does anyone know when the judge promo of Imperial Recruiter will be released? I am itching to try him in my cube.
The announcement of this promo's release alone let the price of the P3K one tumble down. A month ago, the cheapest English ones on MCM cost 210-220 €. Now the cheapest ones cost 160-170 €.

They give out new judge promo's at every Pro Tour and world cup(I think?). And they give 2 new ones. So bribery and recruiter are likely the judge promos for PT gatecrash. Though judge foils have been spoiled way earlier than released (mana crypt, sword of fire and ice).

I know that it won't be super cheap, but less than 100 is still far better than over 200. I would actually buy one once it falls below triple digits.
