- Untap target mountain. It becomes a 6/1 red Elemental creature with haste until end of turn.
- Destroy target land or artifact.
- Creatures without flying can’t block.
This seems like it should be a sorcery, as LD almost exclusively is, and that keeps this from being a removal spell for creatures as well. I'm concerned the middle mode is already "modal". The last mode needs to be "this turn"
Force of the Wild2G
Instant (U)
Choose two -
Target creature you control gets +2/+2 and Trample
Target creature you control fights target creature an opponent controls.
Target creature you control gains “this creature must be blocked this turn if able” until end of turn.
Mode one needs to be "until end of turn". Otherwise seems balanced.
Blessed Resurgence3W
Instant (U)
Choose two -
Exile target attacking or blocking creature. You may return it to the battlefield under its owner's control.
Creatures you control gain lifelink until end of turn.
Target blocking creature you control gets +7/+7 until end of turn.
Seems maybe a little pricy? I mean, this is a hell of a blowout on defense. I'm also concerned that again the first mode is itself modal.

Madness has long been one of my favorite mechanics, so I'd love it if there was a way for it to be viable in Cube. With that in mind, here's a bunch of enablers and madness cards that I'd love to see:

Whenever Stromkirk Flayer deals combat damage to an opponent, put a +1/+1 counter on it.

When Olivia's Vintner enters the battlefield, you may put a -1/-1 counter on target creature
1/1
Krosan Hermit G
Creature - Human Druid

Madness W

homicidal instinct would have madness cost BB at least. The burn spell is just... Great, I want 11
Yeah, Homicidal Instinct is probably a touch too pushed. The burn spell is another one I'm not sure on - for a deck that can benefit from the discard, it's both halves of a Staggershock, but can also kill 4-toughness things.

Poxis couldn't be printed in any product. It really would need to be 2B kicker, or maybe 3 colorless? I like the Phalanx, I feel like it might want another keyword to be what I want it to be though, maybe vigilance?

I run a 360 cube and I would run the proposed card with singular kicker, comparing to nekrataal, a card most cubes run to my knowledge, it's 1 cheaper for no flicker/ reanimate on synergy. Niether body really matters. The goal is to design a card that would be good in cube without being too broken to print. The card could never be printed in a draftable set, but I guess potentially it could be printed in a commander precon, but I don't see it happening.
I agree though, the madness cards are on a whole too weak, but with a few suggestions the balance can be knocked out, they really aren't that far from cubable.
My bad on the wording of that one, I meant both bodies are comparable in value on a utility dude, 2/1 first strike lets you kill aggro guys, 1/1 deathtouchers lets you trade up for value.
Like I had said, Madness has long been one of my favorite mechanics, and I'd like a way for it to be relevant in Cube. I'm toying with the idea of a partial-custom Cube loosely based around Odyssey Block - it'd have a lot of support for Madness, Threshold (and Delirium), Flashback, and similar mechanics.

See I feel that RB Madness Vampires is already relevant in cube. You are basically playing RB aggro, with a 1 drop who lets you play your deck on a whole new axis and some efficent creatures with relevant abilities.
Anyway, I've been trying to work out how I would do a better UG cheat into play deck. Right now, the power between Show and Tell and similar effects is huge.
I'm wanting a flexible gap fillers, a sneak into play spell that can either scale or be cast earlier than the 5 mana green from hand or 5-6 mana top 6 or so.
Compare Specimens XXGU
Sorcery
Each opponent may put an artifact, creature, enchantment, or land card from his or her hand onto the battlefield. Then, put X artifact, creature, enchantment, or land cards onto the battlefield.
So cast it for UG, you get nothing. Cast it for 2UG, you get a Show and Tell. Cast it for 6, you get a double SnT etc.

I'd love to cube with this. A four mana SoT is still reasonable and I like the scaling option to make it (even) less symmetrical.
Warrior's Wisdom1WR
Enchantment
Creatures you control have prowess. 1U: Return target spell you control to its owners hand.
Very cool design, but I'm not sure if it's pushed enough. It's essentially a tricolored anthem that requires you to have a spell and spend mana on (plus some counterspell insurance).
Elf's Revenge XG
Creature - elf
1/1
Creature comes into play with x +1/+1 counters on it
Sacrifice Elf's Revenge: Destroy target artifact or enchantment with converted mama cost less that or = to this creatures Power T: add C to your mana pool. use this ability only if Elf's Revenge power is 2 or greater. 1t: add a +1/+1 counter to Elf's Revenge
I think this would be an interesting card for cube.
We always need more useful artifact / enchantment interactions. You could play this turn one to kill your opponents moxen etc.
It ramps, but offers no color fixing, and it can only do so on turn 3.
its not a bad late game card since it scales and can be a mana sink / mana generator.
The biggest problem with a card like this, is it might have to many abilities / text on it?
Not to sound overly critical, but I'm not sure it's all that interesting. It's basically a modal charm implemented as a creature (A hydra pretending to by an elf, no less.)
If you could find a better way to interact counters with mana and/or artifact and enchantment removal, it might be more cohesive. It is also pretty inefficient at everything it does, even if it is very flexible.
So I'm looking for some more support for Eldrazi in my cube. Here is what I've got.
Mind-Warping Wailer 2C
Creature - Eldrazi
When Mind-Warping Wailer enters the battlefield, target opponent reveals his or her hand. You choose a nonland card from it and exile that card.
When Mind-Warping Wailer leaves the battlefield, return an exiled card you don't own to its owner's hand.
3/2
So it is a thought knot seer that has synergy with ingest.
Formless Skulker C
Creature - Eldrazi Processor
When you cast Formless Skulker, you may put any number of cards an opponent owns from exile into that player's graveyard. If you do, Formless Skulker comes into play with that many +1/+1 counter on it.
2/1
I run Eldrazi in my cube, and a fair bit of GY hate, so really on their own they are a 3/2 Mesmeric Fiend for 3 and a 2/1 for 1 who can grow, but if you draft right big pay off
Merfolk Shipscourge U
Creature - Merfolk Rogue
Skulk
Whenever Merfolk Shipscourge deals combat damage to a player, you may draw a card and then discard a card.
When Merfolk Shipscourge dies, draw a card. 1: Merfolk Shipscourge gets +1/-1 until end of turn
0/2
Angelic Anthem 1WW
Enchantment R
Creatures you control get +1/+1.
Coalesce as Angel 4WW (4WW: ~ becomes an Angel creature in addition to its other types. Put a [undertermined name] counter on it.)
Flying
3/3
Moldering Wellspring - 1GG Enchantment
Whenever an opponent casts a spell, you may discard a creature card. If you do, put X 1/1 Saproling creature tokens onto the battlefield, where X is equal to that spell's converted mana cost.
Shaman of Nature's Balance - 2GG Creature - Human Shaman
Whenever a creature enters the battlefield under an opponent's control, you may search your library for a creature card with less than or equal converted mana cost, reveal it, and put it into your hand. Then shuffle your library. X, Discard a creature card with converted mana cost X: Shaman of Nature's Balance deals X to each creature with flying and each player. 2/2
So basically copying an instant or sorcery card in your hand for an extra U which essentially lets your ignore colored mana symbols? Seems rather strong. Is there a precedent for this card or is this totally novel effect?
I'm expecting a new keyword ability that appears on conspiracies, possibly conspiracies with one-shot effects.
Yeesh, way too good. It's kicked Into the Roil or Snap or a free card draw?
