is there some way to not spend like $100-$200 on sleeves for the cube? is it just getting lucky on ebay? is there a decent site to get sleeves for reasonable prices?
You really don't have to get lucky, ebay is always selling bulk stuff
While the old Ultra Pro sleeves with the glossy back aren't that good - they quickly look battered - I still use them for my cube, because I had over 500 of them lying around... and they are quite durable. The newer Raven Black shield with their matt back are quite good however. I use those for my tribal cube.

They have sleeves available by the case. I got 800 KMC Matte Blue sleeves for $45 and 1000 KMC Perfect Fits for $30. The whole thing was < $100 for 1800 sleeves.

Seconded. I sleeved my entire Magic: The Gathering cube, my A Game of Thrones cube, and my Warhammer: Invasion cube for a fairly inexpensive price.

I did the same thing. Potomac is great. Note that they do have a minimum order amount which might be in the ~100 to 150 neighboorhood but there are a lot of cool things you can pick up to get over the limit.
Edit: I'm also thinking of a cube for another game. If I could think of a way to make it work for Netrunner I would do it in a heartbeat.

When I see Healing Salve, I'm often like "Oh girl, I wish I could turn every card into this." Thanks they removed the gain life part, otherwise this would have been broken.
You need to decide if you want to include both Marvel and DC sets, which teams will get the most support, how many team-stamped PT's you will use, and if you're using super-crossover. (If not make sure to include a lot of team-ups...)
If you're drafting only, I would say nix the super-crossover. If you're doing some other casual format it's up to you. Make sure to include teams that have lots of support and you can draft multiple strategies with. Good luck!
P.S. I recently made a VS. Cube myself and it's been awesome. I've gotten my friends to play (even though they didn't ever play before) and not having to buy or provide their own cards was the deciding factor.

My apologies, children, for I am afraid I cannot save you all.
Are regular KMCs/perfect fits ok on their own or do they have to be doubled up? I'm really annoyed with the Ultra Pros that I use in my cube and that deal looks amazing.
I have an "Illuminati: New World Order" cube (that I only played with once). And thought about building a Jyhad cube.
I have a semi built VTES cube. I have the vamp section complete and combat, but keeping the disciplines spread evenly and not making DOM overpowered is hard.

Perfect Fits are just smaller penny sleeves that the cards fit into exactly.
The regular KMC sleeves are just like other sleeves.
When you put the card into the perfect fit first, it then goes into the outer regular KMC sleeve just fine. They work better if you use the same brand for this method. Like, you could put a card sleeved with perfect fits into an UltraPro, but it fits better (more exact) into an outer KMC sleeve.

Ok - I have a major Jyhad collection, but not anything from other than the base set. I have atleast one complete Jyhad set, and alot more. Is it even worth something anymore?

you can use them alone, and the super perfects are awesome btw. But dont get the KMC mattes, they suck balls.

Not really, most of the cards are still in print, the vamps are unique to that set. A few cards are worth something: Parity Shift is the main one.
I've known Ultra Pro to be kind of sub par lately compared to their quality from years past. Back when Ultra Pro sleeves came in a card board box with a jester on the front and you could only get red or black, their sleeves were solid. In fact I still have some of those sleeves and currently have EDH sleeved up in them. The last batch of Ultra Pros I bought have seen a fair amount of play but most all of them have busted open across the bottom.
We're using Max Pro sleeves at the moment for our cube, but I voted for KMC because that's what we're getting in the very near future. The Max Pro sleeves are fine, but they tend to get wavy along the top and the tend to split down the sides. And when I say split down the sides, I don't mean completely so that the card could come out, I mean it's as if there are two layers of colored plastic and one layer comes loose from the second layer. We've had these sleeves for quite some time, so they've put in their time, but I feel like they should last a bit longer than this without the issues we've had with them.
I probably won't get the perfect fits unless we ever actually include real power instead of proxies.
I started using Perfect Fits particularly because you can potentially get a lot of dust and wear on the top part of the card when single sleeved. My Survival of the Fittest and Vampiric Tutor have serious permanent marks on the top because of this.
I assume people know to fit the cards in the perfect fit sleeve upside down, so that the top of the card isn't exposed.
I have been running Ultra Pros Over KMC perfects for just over a year now. At first everything was great, but recently I switched to kMC over KMC Perfects. The Ultra PRos were great, however over the last couple weeks I have had an insane increse in the number of sleave breaks, betweend 3 and 7 sleeves per draft. Still haven't ran the KMCs,but they seem perfect.

Really? I was under the impression that these were the consensus best sleeves for both durability and consistency.
Mine have been great. I don't know what the specific compliant is.
On spoiled card wishlisting and 'should-have-had'-isms:
