I've found Mardu to be pretty good at racing opposing creature decks. I play 4 Blessing of Belzenlok, lifelink is huge and it's been a better Intergity overall.
Cool. List, please? I am curious about whether Judith fits. Bladebrand is a cantrips, but it doesn't seem that useful.
Wow thank you all so much for responding to my little brew, I got my shell on pre order so I'll give it a try,
Is this sarcasm about the other Feather thread? I didn't even look until I saw this. I could tell from the title that I wasn't interested, but I would have looked if you had posted in this thread.
Jeskai is VERY interesting and with a mana base this good why not play three colors will probably drop more money in if I like how the deck feels
Yes, and I think Ryder052 has been very creative in addition to testing. I can imagine a meta where a Jeskai Aggro-Control/Tempo deck could be powerful.

Well I'm not super high on Judith in comparison to Krenko that I liked quite a bit. I feel like a card like Dreadhorde Butcher would fit better as he deals a ton of damage when he dies. However I tested none of them yet. Black has Duress in the SB to ensure our 3-drop will live, that's the 2nd main benefit of running black.
Krenko, Tin Street Kingpin definitely is a card to consider. I'm shocked he completely overlooked Jeskai though.
It looked to me like a decently researched article. I think he found Dive Down, but not Beamsplitter and thought U didn't have enough. I am not endorsing his conclusions, but rather offering his article as a vein of ideas to be mined.
I think someone (maybe in a Reddit thread?) found Krenko unimpressive, but maybe they were testing it differently. Soon, we get to see!
Planning to make this deck after war release, love following the post. Is niv going to be too color intensive to run in this deck? I like having one big guy to count on along with Aurelia and possibly Lyra. I think I want to include too many cards, have you tested justice strike, deafining clarion, shock, or Kefnet? Maybe I am wanting to go more of a mid range style not sure which version would be best. Tya
Longer answer: try packing all the rare duals in a deck. You need 19 W sources for a 90 % chance of casting Feather on T3. You have 16 and having to make R makes it even harder. Now consider Niv. Two thirds of your lands only tap for one useful color. You are likely to need 8 or more lands to cast him. Feather seems best in an Aggro or tempo shell. 8 lands is a lot.
This is the first real workable list I've seen/tested with Feather in it. I don't think the card is really good at all but this shell works good with it. I usually don't care to cast her because the other guys seem to get it done a lil better. I do think if you are running it, God-eternal kefnet should probably be in it. It might be the best creature in the set and fits so well in this shell also.
Would it at all be feasible to have the Jeskai version take a minor in G for Wilderness Reclamation?
What would be the use of it? Untapping your lands to have mana open for protection won't work since they can counter or remove before it triggers.
Ryder, have you tested that in there at all?
I considered it, but it's a 4cmc beater with 23% chance of generating CA each turn and that reveals my draws. I might be wrong though, you're more than welcome to try!
Recall, and I had to remind myself this as well, that if you cast defiant strike on beamsplitter mage, you draw two cards, and two creatures get +1/0 FOR ONE MANA.
That proved to be much overrated during my testing. Two cards and 2 damage isn't the greatest of setups, when you need 2 creatures to target. One of which is very fragile. And without this setup, it's at best 1 card 1 damage. Not very impressive.

I figured being able to use your spells on your turn and then still have your counters/combat tricks open on your opponents turn might be useful. That being said, can't wait for your primer.
I've revised the cards list for Feather archetype. Introduced Mardu and 4-5c sections.
Notable additions: Slaughter the Strong - Removes opponent's fatties likely not touching our creatures. Seismic Shift - Recurring land destruction Narset's Reversal - Potentially great tempo card against certain decks Finale of Devastation - Tutors Feather onto the battlefield Bolas's Citadel - can it actually make Mardu Feather a thing? Neoform - surprise Feather in a GU deck? Skirk Prospector - T2 Feather in Boros is a possibility after all.
The Primer is going to be a big thing, I want to get it done correctly, so it'll be a few more days probably until I finish it.
Played more control decks. After all, I might not yet be ready to make this primer.
There is an argument for making at least a placeholder thread and improving over time. I'd be glad to help with formatting and filler. Just let me know.
Alright, I can write a roundup of all available options and provide my decklist with reasons, add those two lists from Joel Larsson and that will be it for now.
What's the reason to go Jeskai in the first place? Protection.
What goes well with protection? Creatures worth protecting.
What's the best creature to protect in Jeskai? Probably Lyra Dawnbringer.
What other stuff works with both Feather and Lyra?
RNA Standard: Grixis Midrange, Jund Deathwhirler, Sultai Vannifar
GRN Standard: Red Midrange, Mono-Blue Tempo, Wr Aggro, Gruul Experimental Dinosaurs, Sultai Midrange, Jeskai Midrange
Modern: Bant Spirits
Forcing a single archetype in all formats: too many colors, bad mana.
T1 whatever
T2 Arcanist
T3 Colossus, recast with Arcanist, swing for 9, Thud.
