I've taken my Red Midrange deck out a few times with good results. Seeing Bedevil reminded me of the one sided wrath that Goblin Chainwhirler + Status // Statue presents. If the mana works, Bedevil is nearly Assassin's Trophy without ramping the opponent and Statue covers most of the rest.
I can see RB being reasonable but the mana in this seems off, especially just to essentially be splashing for status//statue. Some kind of Jund deck could be good but I wanna wait to see what else we could get

I was drawn to Bedevil as a better Hero's Downfall. But that was when I thought Bedevil was RRB. As it stands, the mana is fugly. I left it here as a placeholder to start discussing Jund. I am counting on more good Gruul and Rakdos cards coming.
Dropping Bedevil and tilting the manabases more G could accommodate a good Domri. The last one required lots of beefy creatures to find and fight with. I could see dropping the Treasure Maps and cutting some of the Commanders for Domri, Find and creature to be named later, this is just baseless speculation.
TLDR: yeah, the posted deck seems worse than Big Red. Still psyched for Jund and wanted to get the ball rolling.
I think that there's gonna be a cool jund deck after Allegiance is released. There's already some good cards in Golgari, as mwell as the individual colours. Bedevil is neat and it'll be cool to see the correct combination of cards like assassin's trophy, bedevil and vraska's contempt to name a few.
We don't know too much of Allegiance yet but there's more than likely be a good Jund deck
