I'm curious if anyone has had any thoughts on running this guy. I know I wouldn't run him mainboard but possibly as a 1-2 of in the Sideboard possibly.

My take is that we're a bit too creature-light to comfortably play this guy. Short of a long attrition game, we're rarely going to have 6 in our GY.
He comes in at 5 mana, which raises our curve, and is most likely a Desecration Demon replacement. Bonus, we do get to kill one of their creatures. Downside, odds are we're sacrificing one of our critters.
So who are we saccing? Nightveil Specter, Desecration Demon, Gray Merchant of Asphodel, or Pack Rat (I guess also Mutavault if you'd like). If I had better GY recursion (i.e. a consistent Whip or the like) then being able to sac Merchants would possibly be a boon. But we don't have great GY recursion, we run maaybe 2 whips out of 60. And now the combo requires we have 2 2-ofs to go off, and just cost us creatures the rest of the time.
I did try it though, and there may be a way to tweak the deck to have more success - making it a Reanimator style deck or something like that, maybe.

Yep thats the problem with him.
He is really solid but we have no creatures that we like to sac for his trigger because of all them are better on the battelfield for the eventual Gray Merchant.
If we had creatures that become useless later like Elvish Mystic than he could certainly work but right now he is basically a five-mana murder than can block for a single round.

That's what Magic is about, after all. A game of poker. With dragons.
