I got t16 at the NC champs competition, playing RDW. I ran into fae x5, 5c x1, kithkin x2.
I saw one other demigod deck at the top tables, everyone else was playing r/w kithkin, ww, fae, or 5cc. I didn't really get a 100% look at what t8 was playing, I was just really psyched that I had placed 16th!
Also, field was 216 players.
I placed 6th.
The top 8 featured white kithkin, rw aggro, elfball. I wasn't able to see all of it, but it wasn't very stock from what I recall.
Match-ups:
Mono Blue Mill
Faeries
Faeries (loss)
5c control
Mono Blue Mill
BW Control
Kithkin Backlash
Red Deck Wins

but yeah, I went 5-2 there, it was rough w/ faeries. Although I did manage to beat my worst matchup twice!
Did I see you, or no? You weren't the Faeries player I played were you?
By the way to all, the final game was won by double Spectral Procession from 2 Windbrisk Heights, 2 Stillmoon Cavalier on the board then an Ajani Goldmane pumping the hell out of them. It was the most amazing game I saw all day.
Oh, and anyone who was there for the finals will get this "Weedle for the win!".
Beat Lark, Beat kithkin, lost to red splash faeries due to a stupid mistake (1-2), lost to burn, lost to RDW, drop!
And yeah. like. Burn. It was crazy. Full on burn. also 3 siege gang in an effing row is awful. >.<
I think the t8 was shaping up as like faeries, cruel, backlash kithkin, and the doran rock.
EDIT: And omfg, like, sea of red. SEA OF RED.
I made Top 8
Utah top 8 was:
3x Wr Kithkin
2x faeries
1x Mono Red
1x Realm Razer
1x ????? (Maybe fae or RDW, NOT 5cc)
I know that 2 kithkin and the realm razer deck made it to the semifinals.
I was the only 5-2 to get in (both my losses were to Top8 people, so my tiebreaks were excellent). I played Wr Kithkin: playing: cruel control 2-1, UBG merfolk 2-1, fae 2-0, los to fae 1-2, RDW 2-0, Realm Razer 1-2, fae 2-1.
I actually didn't see that much red... And the one guy I played got mad when I drew 4 forge tenders and 3 spectral procession game 2.
Chris O'Bryant Kithkin
Jorge Taylor Kithkin
Austin Saylor Toast
Bobby Graves Toast
Chris Backland Fae
Kevin Vashon Fae
Tyler Winn Fae
Jarod Burt Mono Red
Kithkin won in the finals over fae if I understand correctly.
The deck label WW/Kithkin deck in MI top by Shinjutsei was White Weenie, basically the same but with a Ranger of Eos toolbox over Stalwarts and White Orchid + Sigiled Paladin over Meadowgrain + Cenn. The WR aggro was just all the Kithkin Guys + Red Ajani and burn, minus the high drops.
Michigan top 8 resulted like this
Top 8:
WW d 5C Merfolk
Fae d Kithkin
Fae d Lark
Kithkin d WR Kithkin
Top 4:
WW d Fae
Kithkin d Fae
Finals:
Kithkin d WW
9th place on breaks was another copy of the WW deck, 72/75 the same (1 was a missing Elspeth, 2 were SB cards).

Albus Dumbledore, Harry Potter and the Sorceror's Stone
To the well organized mind, death is but the next great adventure.
Pennsylvania states top 8 was:
1 Fae- Brett Blackman Winner
2 Fae- Tim Timlin (Split)
3/4 Fae- Craig Berry
3/4 Red- John???
5/8 Fae- Shea Miller
5/8 R/W Ajani Aggro- ???
5/8 QnT- ???
5/8 Fae- ???
There was one less Faerie, one more 5CC deck in top 8. They were both complaining to me that they had been playing faeries all night (despite going something like 5-0 against faeries in Swiss combined).
There was a crap load of faeries and kithkin. I was expecting kithkin, but thought there would be a little more RDW.

LOL yeah the weedles were tech, i was the RDWs guy chris beat in the quarterfinals BTW. i mean omg triple Cenn and aJani, i even had everlasting torment AND firespout and Pyroclasum and never cleared the table it was sad =[
Justin Meyer won MN states with mono white kithkin. He beat my friend Jason Scouschboe in the finals, and he hasn't played a standard event in like 2 years, and hadn't played a single match of standard in the new format until last night.
me and my team mate made top eight with almost perfect records, my other teamate got screwed because the judge put in the results wrong so we would have had 3 q'n'toast builds of ours in top 8.
Wyoming results:
top eight were
5-8 q'n'toast (me)
5-8 mono black conrtol(got a game loss first round and lost fast)
5-8 the merfolk wizards deck
5-8 reamrazer/bloomtender control
3-4RDW
3-4 Backlash
2 q'n'toast (team mate)
1 fae(he won last year, Meng long)
we had decks that had favorable matchups in all games, the Sb was great and we would have won if he didnt draw lands >,<;;
Looks like Kithkin, Faeries, 5cc, and RDW showed up in huge numbers.
The lack of innovation makes me a sad panda. Wish I could have gone with my Jund Ramp deck.
I can understand this. I too would love to play my Token deck; it just gets mana screw too often. It wins all of the other times though other than against Toast. I think you have to play with whichever deck is giving you the best draws at the time and has the best matchups.

I'm really glad I decided to play RDW :).

Cheeks hadn't played a game of Standard, sanctioned or testing, since Nats, but apparently having one of the top ten highest constructed ratings in the world accounts for something. Also, this will be his third champs plaque, as he won the event in 2004 and 2005 as well.
Ohio had 275 players......it was packed. They actually had to delay the start of the event to set up an extra 20 some tables with chairs outside in the connecting hallways. I went a horrible 4-4-1 with 5-color.....the deck really let me down so many times. I run the usual 26 lands and it seemed as if I was alway land flooded every game except my fae loss which I had great starts and never got to the 4th land and on top of it I had mulliganed both games....oh well.

and yeah, that final game, one hell of a god draw. Bens hand was rediculous too, but Chris played first.

I built 5cc weeks ago and after 2 fnms, opted to not play it because of inconsistency. It was inconsistent enough as it was before starcity wrote 12 articles on it. Now with tons of people running fulminator mage, I decided against it. I had 2 friends running it at states and both had at least 2 draws cause of how long the deck takes to get going.
4 Faeries
2 5-color control (one was cruel control, not sure about the other one)
1 Bant Crashers
1 RDW
Left before the semis ended. Matches were:
Fae vs. Fae
5-color vs. 5-color
RDW vs. Fae
Bant Crashers vs. Fae (Fae won)
I'm assuming that you labeled my deck as Bant Crashers, which I have no idea what it is. I was playing an Aggro-Control Lark variant (UWg). The quarters were:
Faeries vs Aggro Lark (me), Faeries won
Faeries (friend) vs Faeries, friend's faeries won
5-color vs Bant control, 5c won
RDW vs Faeries, Faeries won
Semis:
Faeries (Friend) vs Faeries, Faeries (not friend's) won
5c vs Faeries, Faeries won
Finals:
Faeries vs Faeries, didn't stay to which won, but obviously Faeries.
1 cruel control
1 jund land destruction thing
1 G/B elves
1 bant reveillark
1 planeswalker control
I forget the other 3 but the field was realllly diverse. I played 5 color lark and went 6-2(a friend played u/b fae and was 6-1 (5th) going into the last round, tied to get into t8 and got 9th -_-), and there was a lot of weird stuff doing well like jund mana ramp, 16 planeswalkers.deck, quillspike combo, elves.... I came expecting everyone to be playing toast/ fae/ kithkin. There was a lot of toast, some fae, and very few kithkin, so I had a lot more fun than playing fae/kithkin/toast all day long.
