I just like how well both combo pieces work with your overall Marvel gameplan, being able to blink or copy a Virtuoso or a Refiner and let you spin the wheel again, all while providing an alternate kill at the same time. A little unsure on some of the numbers, for example I have been going back and forth on the split of Ulamog/World Breaker. Let's be honest, we're never casting Ulamog outside of maybe against UR control and even there it's kind of a stretch since your Servants never live, whereas World Breaker is actually castable. On the other hand, against other Saheeli decks when you Marvel them on turn 4 and hit a World Breaker there is a reasonable chance they can just kill you on their next turn, and if you double Stone Rained them with Ulamog that is probably out of the question. As far as a SB goes, I have to keep playing the matchups to see where the holes are. I imagine some sort of Tireless Tracker/Negate package for control decks, maybe a 5th eldrazi for when your Marvel plan is more active than the Saheeli plan, and I was considering Aethersphere Harvester as my card of choice for the more streamlined aggressive decks. Radiant Flames just doesn't kill a ton out of the BG decks, although maybe it is a necessary evil for humans. The other thing I was considering for the aggro matchups was to include a "package" of sorts with Elder Deep-Fiend and Kozilek's Return since that is one way to go over the top of BG, and Return likely still kills enough out of the human deck to buy enough time to setup Saheeli or Marvel. Does anyone have any thoughts on the matter? Would very much appreciate any and all discussion.
ok im back and lets see if this thing still has legs.
Tonight was 1st FNM since banning and my 1st edition of this was dog poop so I was trying to brew using the curve of thought knot into Smasher while playing something turn 2 to try and speed it up by one turn.
BUT within the last 3 hours of playing I saw these lists on MTGgoldFISH: https://www.mtggoldfish.com/deck/562170#online
I REALLY hate getting Ulamog stuck in my hand and this deck cant do anything with it. I dont think I can stomach playing 4, 3 max. BUT playing Decimator of the provinces won me 2 games because with this deck we have Virtuoso, thopters, servants and refiners to add extra damage to win that turn if you get it off Marvel then on top of that you can cast it for as little as 6 mana.
I am going to look into a 2/2 split of Ulamog and the Boar with conduit and one Fiend. One of the games I won with decimator was using it after casting and untapping with conduit of Ruin.
Also the conduit was in my hand from the start of the game, imagine if it was Ulamog......
This Brazilian Guy, Tulio Lamego Jaudy, seems to have this sideboard plan of going aggro to go under the combo and control decks I assume, that would work great with the Boar. I couldnt get those commons but I had always dreamed of casting T3 6/6 Vigilance trample wanderers.
I went 1-1-1 tonight at FNM, 1st match my opponent knew little and took too long and took game one.
Match 2 was B/G snake using those new common creatures that give energy when entering the battlefield, G1 T4 Ula, G2 saw 4 lands and G3 saw 3
Match 3 was B/G aggro with rarer cards and he could have put me out of my misery G3 if he wasnt screwed on lands. I kept a loose keep on the draw, 5 lands, 2 were evolving wilds and 2 wanderes.
one got transgressed and I had 15 lands in play at the end of the turns. he lost legacy 1 Ulamog and 2 fiends.
So if you all are still looking for a deck, try it out.
I picked up this deck online, and it's been insane for me. It does the marvel thing, it plays creatures, but the main wincon is Mechanized Production on Puzzleknots. The upshot is you control the board a little but you're gaining so much life, they can't keep you down. Oh and you're also gaining so much energy, it's every turn a marvel and you still have energy to waste.
Saffron Olive posted a very different Marvel deck which uses Paradox Engine to combo: Tap marvel, cast something it finds, Engine untaps marvel. If the something makes enough energy you can just keep going.
Wow just got 3x of Marvelous as a prize pool from Local shop. This card look incredible potential. So I try to build this deck around.
My first look and decide to play as UG. Refiner and Aethertide Whale look cool to start the combo.
So I had this plan that I would be playing Decimator with creatures in play and over run, but the format has a lot of removal and the top decks have creatures bigger than mine so try decimator was lame.
Back to Ulamog, don't know why I ever doubted it, oh well.

I can't stress enough not only the success I've been having, but the ultimate fun this deck is. I changed a few things based on availability and funability:
Looks great. Needs one copy of Second Harvest. For fun. Can cast or Marvel it on endstep, double your Deadlock Trap tokens (the original only isn't a token) and thopters. Untap and win.
