I've added my thoughts on some of the 30 or so matches i've played with this deck on mtgo, i'll keep updating especially when I play my league matchups but I think i've played a few games against all the T1 and T2 decks in standard so far. And yeah thanks for the Displacement Wave hint, that might just be better than Hallowed Moonlight in situations where it really counts, plus it can be a one sided wrath if you have a sphnx out and has the potential to nuke planeswalkers!
Luckily between Anticipate, Epiphany at the Drownyard and card draw from Thraben Inspector I have almost never gotten mana screwed in my games. If anything I've gotten flooded a few times when i use multiple anticipates to sift through spells i don't need at the moment and then hit multiple lands in a row.
Anticipate and Epiphany At The Drownyard. You just need a two land hand and Anticipate or a three land hand. One of these scenarios happen almost 100% of the time for me. Also, Displacement Wave is nuts. Beat a G/W tokens build handily today due to it. Wiped about 8 tokens and some clues.
I'm starting to build this deck now, the metagame at my shop consists of mostly midrange brews and a G/W tokens deck, I'll let you know how this worked for me.
I've been toying with a UW control deck idea off and on and I think it's going to be the deck I go with for the coming months.
Here is the list I have right now:
I've tweaked based on my experiences and what has been commented on in this thread. I have yet to put this together but do have most of the cards already. I used to play an Esper Walker build, which is why I am running 3 Narset and 2 Jace (both of whom are fantastic both at card draw and as a means to reduce damage aimed at you). Any feedback on the deck would be appreciated and I'll update as I use it.
I like the list Dusk, Overwhelming Denial and Swift Reckoning are interesting cards, but do you find that their being conditional makes you less consistent than something like Declaration in Stone and Void Shatter? In the meanwhile i've been trying out Bygone Bishop instead of Thing in the Ice in my original list, which seems a bit promising. There just seems to be too much removal in standard right now for a slow card like thing to be consistent.

This seems good! Two Negate mainboard is a commitment but its based on your meta, correct? As written above, Overwhelming Denial is good late game but Void Shatter is better than it almost all the time. Jace is amazing. Very great at absorbing damage and I think you're running enough Narset as well.

Correct. Negate is a concession to the meta I play in (lots of G/W Tokens, control, and enchantment brews in my LGS)
Overwhelming Denial, imo, starts being better than Void Shatter at turn four. It is uncounterable, which can't be said about Shatter (without Sphinx on the field), can be surged out for one less following an Anticipate or another 2 mana instant speed card. Different strokes for different blokes, I guess.I'll test both when I finish putting the deck together and see which I like more.
In the Esper build I was running having 3 Narset was great because one almost always ate a Ruinous Path while still netting me card advantage either in knowing what my next card is or getting an extra spell in my hand. The scry 1, draw on Jace is one of my favorite reasons to play him.
My issue with Declaration is that it gives our opponents a chance to refuel after we've dealt with their board state/hand. It is a great card, to be sure, but for a deck that focuses on controlling the opponent's board/hand state giving them access to extra draw seems like a huge negative

People always become scared of Declaration because of the clue we leave on their side. While they do get to draw, that exile effect creates openings. Against an experienced opponent, they'll attempt to net cards at your end step with the clues (or if desperate, tap 2 on their turn to find an answer). That's when you'll have creatures to swing and/or counters ready to ruin their plans. Reflecting on what I wrote earlier, Declaration and Displacement Wave are gross together; exile multiple copies of things and then Displacement for 2? There's no coming back from that game 2 if it's needed.
While I agree on Overwhelming Denial being a counterspell after turn 4, we shouldn't be vomiting counterspells everywhere to need an uncounterable one; I always end games with one or two hard counters in hand. I also have not faced an Esper build with this yet, so O.D. would be great in that matchup.
On Friday I'll be going to FNM so we will see how it goes.

I think it might have just been a long stretch of them getting good draws to my mediocre ones, although i don't think the matchup is great, i beat a few today that seemed to have average draws. Kind of annoying since everyone and their mother seems to be running W/x humans nowadays on MTGO. I've been trying out 3x Radiant Purge in the sideboard with good results as it can take care of Fevered Visions which destroys control decks and does double duty by taking out manlands at instant speed, something i've noticed this deck has issues with. With the upside of getting rid of random dumb things like The Gitrog Monster and Olivia, Mobilized for War. I tried out Myth Realized for a bit in the 1-drop slot with less than great results in most matchups although it does get BW control pretty good. Is anyone using this type of deck still running Thing in the Ice? I cut it and haven't missed it but it might be a decent SB card for when most decks take out their removal G2 against you. I updated my original post with my current decklist.
Radiant Purge seems like it could be good right now for us. I agree on the man-land thing; that's where my losses come from so that's a great observation and addition to the thread. B/W control seems like they would hate Radiant Purge and it saves you from using a counter that would be otherwise baited or forced.

Thankfully there's no humans in my metagame (I was the only human player), but I lost terribly to planes walkers, if they managed to resolve one it was game from there, man lands are also a big problem I lost a couple times vs other control decks because of that, but overall I had so much fun playing this deck there's a certain satisfaction that comes when countering spells, anyways thing in the ice didn't perform at all anyone got a good replacement for it ?
I'll add to the discussion later. Got to go to bed. Yes, Planeswalkers and man-lands hurt but I'll explain my intuition for dealing with them later on.

I am looking for some help with my W/U control deck. I have taken a look and like what I have seen here. I used this deck at FNM two weeks ago and finished in 4th place. I lost to a Esper Control. So I am trying to improve the deck so I can finish hopefully in 1st or at least better than 4th this week. I have made some changes to the original deck I had so here is what I am running now.
I don't have 4 of the rare lands in the deck because I do not have 4 of them at this time. I only have what I have in the deck except for the Caves. I tested Sorin the best that I could without actually playing a game and he seems to work pretty well with the deck. He gives me another way to deal damage to my opponent, create creatures, and gain life. I had Stasis Snare in the deck but replaced it with Anguished Unmaking since Anguished targets anything and not just creatures. I thought Noyan Dar would be a good add in the deck with Outburst. One thing I did seem to run into was being able to get rid of creatures when they don't attack with them like Sin Prodder. What could be some good answers for that? How could I make the deck better? Thanks for taking the time to view my deck and for all suggestions. Thanks Guys!!!
Time for a huge update. I apologize for the late message. Eldritch Moon has released and now we have a lot more goodies to use from it. Summary Dismissal, Spell Queller, Niblis of Frost and Unsubstantiate are all awesome mainboard decisions that we can make, as well as having Blessed Alliance in the sideboard.
Having multiple copies of Thing in The Ice is probably not the best idea, but I do run it as an one of. Hmm... I'm going to try out these creatures and see how it goes. Niblis of Frost is awesome. At the moment, I'm running 4x Reflector Mage, 2x Sphinx, and 4x Niblis of Frost
There's no point for Niblis of Frost. Curious Homunculus is amazing in here though. Tournament report incoming tomorrow. I went 3-1-1 with a variant of this deck, losing to Mono Green Eldrazi Ramp and getting mana screwed twice.

Overwhelming Denial has found a place in my deck as a one-of, but Spell Queller just hoses it still.
With nothing very important rotating in October from this deck, we have a chance to shine.
From testing, Thing In The Ice is too slow now. I have also committed space for a Jace, Unraveler of Secrets and four Niblis of Frost
You can also do a creature based control build using 4 Mausoleum Wanderer, 4 Spell Queller and 4 Niblis of Frost.
Thoughts?
