This is intended for competitive type 2 play but does not meet all of the requirements for that portion of the forum so I figured that the best place to put it would be here.
The basis of the deck is fairly obvious. Counter things and kill things. I wanted to play Mono-U but with Shackles rotating out I decided that having no board control is a bad thing so I added red for removal.
Not bad, but I would probably take out the Kumano for Shard Pheonix, and instead of Yamabushi's flame, Pyroclasm to improve your matchup against WWr. Once the Izzet comes in, this could be a very cool deck.
My problem is that Pyroclasm kills Jushi who is sort of the engine of the deck. If weenie becomes big in my meta I will probably MD it, but for now Meloku and Kumano have been working pretty well at holding off aggro.
Shard Pheonix could be a good idea. I'll have to test that. It has the same anti-synergy problem but it could be worthwhile; at least a sideboard slot for now.
I'm building this deck now with Izzet in mind. I want a deck that could be cheap but competent now that I wouldn't have to totally replace as more sets are released.
So far I have liked Jushi's because of the ability they leave to have counter-mana open. Telling Time has been pretty good so far because it can find me the answer I need fairly quickly but there have been a few times I've been forced to leave a card I don't want on top. I originally didn't like magpies because I want to draw cards as early as possible and if I drop a magpie turn 4 I'm tapped out and cannot counter a lot of must-counter threats so this change would probably force me to run more Boomerangs but it does open up some good sweepers. The telling times also help me fix my mana. I probably will replace the Jushis with magpies or with tidings but I won't ditch telling time or I will be out of cheap card draw. I'll post a hypothetical list after school.

3CB and 4CB5CB!What has your experience with Telling Time been thus far? It seems kinda iffy to me.
I encourage you to run a full set of Magpies or Jushis main as well as do some testing with Tidings
