WELCOME TO THE MTGSALVATION MWS T2 LEAGUE'S HEADQUARTERS
Please read carefully the following sections before asking questions, thanks!
The League is a small but dedicated community inside the Standard Deck Creation board that aims to create a space for members to test their decks in real time using the software MWS (Magic Workstation) without having to resort the random list of players that plague the program's server and are oftenly known by their poor sportsmanship and unreliable skill. The community will be based in this thread and its dedicated IRC channel #MTG-Salvation at solidirc.
MWS is a software for Windows that provides dozens of tools for deck creation, compilation and playtesting. Although it's shareware, it's eternally free to test and play, so you only need to pay if you choose so. This thread provides several links for download and instructions of installation
IRC mean Internet Rely Chat and consists of a group of free, user-created chat rooms that can be accessed with especial software. The best known and perhaps easier to use is mIRC. You can get the mIRC client here (with instructions here) or alternatively use a web-based client such as Mibbit or http://irc.netsplit.de/ Also, chat programs such as Pidgin, Trillian or Xchat provide IRC connectivity. Having said that, you don't really need to have/use IRC to belong to the community as you can simply use the thread. However, the IRC channel provides the benefit of finding people in real time and having a place to pass the time while a suitable opponent appears.
Devonnn has put up a handy tutorial here to connect to IRC using Mibbit, no excuses to get in now!
Simply state your intention of joining and provide your MWSplay nickname. Members of the League MUST affix the tag [MTGS] to their nick (e.g. [MTGS]Pylgrim) whenever playing league games. You can remove it whenever else but it's encouraged you keep it always to help other memebers spot you in the server for quick, unscheduled games and also to promote the league. You're also encouraged to make your joining post also your profile sheet following the example given in the second post of this thread. Once you join, your name will be added to the member list in this post and linked to your profile post.
"?">
All the opposite. Whenever you play a game against a stranger who proves himself a good player with a good attitude, encourage him/her to join the league. The more people there are in the league the easier it will be to find a good opponent at any given time.
First and foremost, be a decent human being. Playing games pseudo-anonymously in the Internet gives raise to all kinds of unsportive behavior who mar the experience for anyone else and is the very first reason the League was created for. Unsportive behavior will NOT be tolerated. Whether you win or lose, respect your opponent and yourself. Members are strongly encouraged to report via PM to me if your opponent behaved poorly. Repeated reports can lead to a permanent ban from the League.
Second, play always, at least 2 out of 3 games (what's called in tournaments a "match"). One of the main purposes of the League is to be an active extension of the Standard Deck Creation board for members to playtest their creations as opposed as simply make a thread with the deck and beg for opinions. A single game represents hardly any real data as luck is for better or worse a big part of Magic. Repeated testing will balance the odds of good/bad luck in the long run allowing the deckbuilding and playing skills to be exposed for true. If you think you'll have no time for a 2/3 match, please make sure of stating it. Maybe there will be someone up for a quick game but don't involve someone expecting a full match. I recommend that if you got hold of a good opponent, keep playing with him/her, maybe alternatively changing decks to get a good amount of testing.
Also, although is not enforced, it's encouraged to be sensible: if your opponent mulliganed down to 4, allow him to try drawing 6 again. If he's visibly manascrewed/flooded, scrap out the game and start anew. Remember that the main purpose of the league is decktesting, not playing for winning and the petty reward of the shortlived victory. If you still want a "serious" game with full rule enforcing and taking luck as it comes, please state so when you request a game. Anyway, there will be League Tournaments in which you'll be welcome to be as fiercely competitive as you can; at every time follow the golden rule of treating your opponent as you wish to be treated by him.
Third, have a handful of competitive, tier 1 deck lists you are comfortable to play with. We understand that us, deck-creators often frown at so-called "netdecking"; however, like it or not if you want to play your deck in even the slightliest competitive environments, you'll have to play against those decks without fault and being able to test your rogue deck against them will give you a proper idea of the competence of your deck in the meta, so be ready to play them if an opponent requests a particular match. Moreover, forcing yourself to play with tested quality decks will definitely improve your deckbuilding if you pay attention to how the deck works.
From time to time, and after we have a established user base, tournaments will be held by the league to allow all that decktesting be put under proof. We might even hold a standings systems to encourage players to tune their decks to their best.
If you successfully joined (i.e. your name was added to the member list), just make a post requesting a game, state wheter you wish to test against certain archtype or just a random deck (or want a "serious" game) and wait for an answer. This might take some time while the League grows its user base, but eventually should become more efficient.
Alternatively, jump on mIRC, which may give you a better and quicker idea of the number of people available for playing, or just get on a MWS server and check for the trusty [MTGS] tag.
Members: Please provide a post with a basic profile following the example in the second post of this thread. Once you do, I'll link those posts to your league nicks. Please use this thread only for profiles and game request. For any other discussion please use the original thread of the league that has been repurposed for that. EDIT: If you have threads in this board for the decks you are testing, it would be a good idea to link them, as I did. You might get direct feedback from your opponents that way.
I'm calling it right now- worst rare in the set. Even good limited players will find better bombs at common and uncommon no sweat. Worst. Episode. Ever.
I really do predict this to be our worst rare in set award winner. I'd be happier opening a jar of eyeballs, so I think anything worse is highly unlikely. This card wont just have zero constructed potential, but not be significantly better than a mass of ghouls in a draft.

Have a helicopter drop you off out front. Light your cigar with a small Indonesian boy holding a black lotus. Then bust out a craw wurm deck with no sleeves. Raw dog shuffle, loose terribly, flip the table, leave in a hovercraft.
I have heard vague rumors of a moustache-dispensing vending machine in a distant laundromat, across the street from a tattoo parlor. However, this information is shaky, and time is of the essence.
