Proven (Standard) Forum Deck Criteria The Proven (Standard) Forum is for housing threads for the top decks in the format. All new and interesting decks should be posted in Standard Deck Creation. If your deck ends up meeting either Proven or Established criteria, it may be moved into the Proven or Established forums.
The Proven (Standard) Forum houses the best decks in the format. They are decks you can expect to see at Preliminary Pro Tour Qualifiers, Grand Prix events, Star City Games Open Series events, and even at your local FNM. Under our data collection, they make up at least 10% of the best performing decks in the metagame. So how do we figure this out?
We collect the all decks that have gone 6-4 or better at the PT. These are the decks that scored 18 points or better (6 wins).
We collect all the decks that have placed in the Top 16 of a GP.
We collect all the decks that have placed in the Top 16 of a SCG Open or Invitational.
We collect all the decks that have placed in the Top 8 of an RPTQ.
We then take all these decks, categorize them, and figure out their percentage of the metagame in relation to all other decks collected.
These data points are maintained and recorded in our spreadsheet for 8 weeks.
To accommodate a changing metagame, once data points have reached 9 weeks old, we throw them out of our data pool. This way, our metagame data only considers results that are 8 weeks old or less.
All decks that make up 8% or greater of the metagame data will be placed into the Proven (Standard) Forum.
Once a deck is in the Proven (Standard) Forum we take competitiveness very seriously and need you to abide by some extra rules. Please refer to our Proven (Standard) Rules if you are unsure about what those are. If you wish to talk about budget alternatives, you should check out our Budget (Standard) Forum.
So is this forum just not being updated regularly anymore or are there really only three decks that fit the criteria in this post?
There hasn't been a large standard tournament in ~ a month.
Though Abzan, Atarka Red, and Jeskai Black don't look to be going anywhere and there are currently 0 decks that look to be moving into Proven (most decks in Established are settling around 5% or lower).
Now for some questions if anybody is feeling particularly helpful.
1. Why has BG snek fallen off the radar so hard? It seems pretty solid to me.
2. What are the tough matchups? I've been doing some testing online and control seems pretty bad. RDW seems to be slightly favoured, I've been told that we have poor game vs zombies and temur, is that true?
3. Is there any decent answers to bristling hydra that I am missing?

This is not on-topic for this thread. Questions about a specific deck belong in the relevant thread. "What deck should I play?" questions belong here. Thanks! - hoser2
