So, I've never been a fan of cards like Strength from the Fallen (SFTF). They seem so niche that if there really was a tier deck to build around it, it would be too easy for everyone to spot. But lately I've tried my luck with a Sultai deck that aims to get an unblockable creature through (Den Protector, for example) with some SFTF boosts or a Nighthowler. It's the kind of deck that looks like it durdles for the first couple of turns, then swings for massive damage on turn 4-5 by fetching its key pieces from the graveyard and landing a combo of multiple SFTF triggers and Nighthowlers.
So we're looking at a deck that wants to:
1. Fill up its graveyard with creatures (meaning that the deck needs a *big* percentage of creatures, preferably close to 50%. We're looking for cards that are both creatures and which set up the win scenario, but we also need a lot of SFTF triggers, which means Enchantments Creatures. Fortunately, lots of creatures in the current Standard are either enchantments and/or graveyard dumpers.
2. Put a Nighthowler on an unblockable creature or get an unblockable creature down with a SFTF in play. Or both. Or multiples.
3. Swing for massive damage
These are the 'unblockables' I'm working with:
Den Protector - can fetch the Nighthowler / SFTF from the graveyard, then go through for massive Marang River Prowler - may not seem awesome in general, but in a deck that wants unblockable damage *and* puts a lot of stuff in the GY, it's pretty perfect as a 1- or 2-of. Hypnotic Siren - early flier with lategame applications that triggers SFTF.
These are the graveyard fillers:
Satyr Wayfinder - doubles as a creature and a GY dump. Commune with the Gods - is not a creature, but puts lots of cards into the GY and lets you find SotF and Nighthowler Nyx Weaver - a bit slow, but doubles as GY dump and a fetcher for the key cards. Triggers SFTF. Sidisi, Brood Tyrant - creature, GY dump and card advantage. Gums up the board on its own but gets extra mileage from Nyx Weaver, Satyr Wayfinder, Commune with the Gods etc.
I've tried adding a couple of Delve spells like Murderous Cut and Become Immense, but it's important to stress that this deck needs around 28 creatures to work reliably. That leaves room for maybe 8 non-creature spells, of which 4 should be Strength of the Fallen. In other words, suggestions should probably mostly be about which creatures to swap for other creatures.
