Snap 4 of in all the best decks? If you don't have it you're losing.
Overhyped card that will do nothing.
Somewhere in between those?
My personal feeling is that an army in a can is always strong even if you have to throw your lands into the mix which makes her a good top deck late but I'm not sure she is that much of a game winner.
I'm going to say that she'll be a popular card but not a world beater.
given we have so many mana dork option and the possibility of getting her out on turn 3.. she really is going to put a huge pressure on your opponent the turn it land especially if you have an untapped land to hit your opponent with.
i played BG Rock in Modern and i had her in my deck as a 1-of currently to replace Garruk Wildspeaker and so far i'm pretty happy with the work she does, she's more resilient than garruk and make a permanent beater without getting her loyalty down although i know i will never be able to fully use her ultimate since my deck don't really run on basic land..

She's really good! Especially since lifebane zombie is rotating and green is the only colour that can still use nykthos, shrine to nyx. There will be green everywhere. And not only that but the best answer to nissa is often mizzium mortars, but since that's rotating we won't have any more 1-sided jokulhaups happening.
Elspeth is a better card. But green is the new black, and UW control is not going to matter in the slightest this season.

I think that's a little hasty. UW has access to fated retribution. That card... laughs at nissa all day long. UWx control will still be a deck post rotation.
And nissa will still be amazing.

I really dont think UW control will be tier 1. Not to mention End Hostilities has a higher chance of saving you from dying since it doesn't cost 7.
UWR control is shaping up to be a fine control deck... post board will go up to something like 4x anger of the gods, 3x end hostilities, and additional burn like lightning strike and magma jet. Almost forgot Nyx Fleece Ram. Sounds pretty good vs. aggro to me.

With so much great support coming out for G in KTK I see Nissa Sitting pretty and prob going up in popularity. I would expect to see a LOT of Mono Green, Green Rush and even some RUG tempo/Control. Expect Nissa to hold at least 2 if not 4 spots in most decks that run forests, just her ability to make trample creatures will be an asset and since board wipes are no longer uncounterable I see RUG being decent just to run a few counter spells for the few board wipes you'll see. I'm guessing she'll hot close to or over $40 in the first few months of the next Rotation.

I've played against her and did not like the results. I know a lot of brewers and pros are liking her, especially since Green is supposed to be the color to play with Courser of Kruphix and Sylvan Caryatid.

I faced a deck featuring Nissa with my bant control deck last weekend and was able to hang in there til my deck almost ran out, his lands also almost ran out and the time ran out. Nissa's land animation is great if you are able to close it out within next few turns, but if you can't close it out against control decks you are screwed.
But the thing is that the control archetype gets weakened much Nissa would work a lot better than the last few months.

You're right. UW won't be a deck. UWx will be. My appologies.
Some version of UWx control will be viable and tier 1.

UWx will be. UWx CONTROL will not be. The cards all rotate.
Edit - I should say that there will almost certainly be a RW control deck with Chained to the Rocks, Banishing Light, Anger of the Gods, End Hostilities, Stoke the Flames et al, splashing blue for Disdainful Stroke and maybe dig through time and SB clever impersonator or whatever. But that's not a UW control deck. It's a RW control deck with a couple blue cards in there.
and with all the discard cards revealed and the aggro component it may be even more difficult for a control deck.
OK I'm making it happen over here:

I respectfully disagree. UWx CONTROL will be super viable. Yes we loose sphinx but we gain dig
