Oh, right. Well... maybe DoJ in Khans? That sounds fair. I mean, it can be countered and everything, but doesn't require blue and white, just white.
4 mana unconditional board wipes are not a thing of the past. WotC already said they won't be doing them any more. 6+ mana seems to be where they are trying to push them.

Where did they say this, exactly?
They didn't. They said the default has been increased higher than 4 mana. They're still willing to print some that are lower but they don't want us having access to multiple cheap sweepers. So what this means is expect only one 4 mana sweeper every other block (just enough to keep one in standard).

Okay, then where did they say that? Citing sources is important, peeps...
Thank you for dredging this up for me. I'm personally inclined to agree, or at least inclined to think that Standard should have one 4-mana sweeper at the very most. There might be one in Khans. I'm hoping for Damnation. Then black could be the control color for a while.

The problem with Damnation is not that it is in black. The problem is the anti-regeneration clause. They have replaced Wrath of God with Day of Judgment because of that.
I dont know if they want to break what they have said.
I'm just gonna run down the list now, most of which are in Green.

That last one feels so out of place, but I can't really help it. Mana leak is to powerful for standard but THOUGHTSEIZE got the nod for two years!
Is regeneration hate really that big of an issue? I mean there are like 18 creatures in standard that have regenerate including the 1 creature from M15 then there are 4 instants that give regenerate (13 of which will cycle out with Khans and if Theros and M15 are any sign regenerate wont really be in Khans). Most of these cards aren't really viable in standard. Modern already has Damnation and Wrath of God... so I mean... what's the problem?

You don't have to tell me. I find that ridiculous too but Wizards decided to make regeneration more relevant by printing less cards that hose it. Wrath of God, Terminate, Terror are all victims of that. I mean compare those spells to Flesh to Dust.
It really is just feeling like they are doing a weak cycle... Are we looking at the new Power Creep speedbump?
Or are they just trying to shake up meta, by making creatures more viable?
I feel like speedbump is more probable... Hey maybe we'll get another timespiral-esque set after they bore the hell out of us for a while.
Personally i would like to see a standard where aggressive decks are more common as opposed to the "spend your way to victory" midrange and the grindy "let's run out of round time game 1" control decks we have had for the last 2 years. Change is always good.

That's a nice bit of fiction you got going there. Aggro decks are as common a ***** on a male because most of them are budget and a lot of players don't have the money to build a thinking mans deck. Sligh, RW burn, GW aggro, mono black aggro, white weenie, red devotion, mono u devotion are are all competitive aggro decks and are very popular. Last Year Craig Wesoce won the Dragon Maze pro tour with a GW aggro deck against a UWx control deck and utterly smashed him as much as I hate to say as I love Dusty as a player, and Mono U devotion won Pro Tour Theoros. Don't kid yourself, there's no shortage of aggro, hipster. Control is an archetype, one of the main ones just like aggro, so it's never going to go away. And if you can't finish game 1 before you "run out of time," then your so called aggro deck isn't as "aggro" as it seems. And FYI, my mum buys me these Jaces and Elspeths so no, I'm not "spending my way to victory at all, I'm out playing those aggro players with swag. Now, apologize to all the control players out there for wasting their time with this spiteful nonsense.
RTR block had too many very powerful mythic rares which pushed the prices of decks up.
Then there was the mono-color decks which just had Mutavault. Having the same card as a 4 of (3 of sometimes in control) in the 3 best decks just made the price oppressive and it's the reason I haven't bothered playing much recently as just waiting for rotation.
The turn out at my LGS last night was quite low. People are bored of this season of standard, they aren't trying to get every last week with their rotating cards in, they're begging for RTR/M14 to finally go away.
OMG, they didn't reprint Shock! Convoke doesn't make a decent '1 mana' burn effect. It probably would have helped M15 limited a lot more than Lightning Strike did.
OMG, they didn't reprint Murder! Yeah, it's just a worse Hero's Downfall, but budget players could really use something like it, just a simple, unconditional creature kill at a fair mana cost. It would probably have also helped M15 limited a lot.
OMG, they didn't reprint Birds of Paradise! I was annoyed we didn't get this in RTR, because it has an original Ravnica block version, and I was kinda hoping for a new art with Ravnica theme. I guess Elvish Mystic is enough for creature ramp though, and better for limited.
OMG, they didn't reprint Cultivate, Rampant Growth or Explore! Ramp is pretty much worthless at 4+ cmc and convoke doesn't actually make it cost less for these purposes, just one of those three would have been enough to make ramp somewhat more viable. I guess they are trying to push devotion based ramp with Nykthos or something.
OMG, they didn't reprint Young Pyromancer! Expect it's prices to get jacked up once M14 boxes start drying up for the few decks that use it in Modern and casual and such. Sure it was a niece card, but it was one of WotC's better balanced but still constructed playable designs recently.
OMG, they didn't reprint Liliana of the Veil! I'll give them this for balance reasons, but for story reasons it's practically unforgivable, given what is up with Garruk. They could have at least made a new Liliana who still wears the veil but is perhaps starting to regret it like the story is hinting at, as well as has killed some of her contracted demons, unlike LotV who just got the veil. At least it wasn't dark realms though.
OMG, they didn't reprint Banisher Priest! It was a good redesign on Fiend Hunter effect and the sliver is too high CMC to be splashed in non-sliver white decks for that effect on a creature body.
OMG, they didn't reprint the full set of painlands! Seriously, I hate incomplete cycles in standard, especially ones as important as mana-fixing for constructed. I can understand not wanting them turning up all the time in boosters, but they could have used the trick they did this time around with Serra Angel and co. and put them at higher numbers and dropped one of each into the deck builder's toolkits, one into each intro deck, or something.
OMG, they didn't reprint Kalonian Tusker! That guy was awesome, and really good support for green devotion strategies. It's just such a good example of green.
OMG, they didn't reprint Leatherback Baloth! Similar reasons to above, only green devotion hasn't gotten to try him yet in Standard, would have been at least a decent alternative option for them to put in.
OMG, they didn't reprint Predator Ooze! This could have actually made green devotion a potential T1 deck, that would have been awesome!
OMG, they didn't reprint Scavenging Ooze! Maybe this is a hint that they are planning some relatively fragile graveyard based strategies in Khans that they want to work in Standard.
OMG, they didn't reprint Wall of Blossoms! I think it would be nice to have as an option in Modern. A color shifted version of such for blue would have been nice. Or even just _some_ blue 2 drop cantrip etb creature, since card-draw is blue's thing. But really, it's awkward that white has Wall of Omens in modern but Green doesn't get this in Modern, especially when white is supposed to be the color that is the worst at card draw.
OMG, they didn't reprint Sanctuary Cat! Black Cat is too creepy, and Frost Lynx is too ugly, and the Swiftclaw and Pridemate are too humanoid! We want more cute kitties for kitty decks! But most importantly, we missed out on the hilarity of them slaughtering Fugitive Wizards!
OMG, they didn't reprint Dismiss! Budget Modern players could use it as a pseudo-alternative to Cryptic Command!
OMG, they didn't reprint Force Spike! Again, for Modern, it's not like they are banning Mana Tithe, and given that countering is supposed to be blue's thing...
OMG, they didn't reprint Elvish Spirit Guide! Simian is in Modern, but green is supposed to be the primary color for this sort of thing, so...
OMG, they didn't reprint Aura Barbs! Or at least something along the lines of it, basically enchantment hate for mono-red, given the recent enchantment heavy block.
OMG, they didn't reprint Water Servant! It's shifty nature is a good example of an aspect of blue that I think should be shown to new players, especially since Ætherling is rotating soon.
OMG, they didn't reprint full art basic lands! Introducing a new card frame would have been a nice time to do so!
OMG, they didn't reprint Serum Visions! Cantrips are always nice and it would have been nice to put in Standard at the same time as all of the scry in Theros block.
OMG, they didn't reprint Crystal Ball! Also to go with scry in Theros block.
OMG, they didn't reprint Foresee! Would be nice digging and go well with scry in Theros block of course, as noted for above two, although the rest of the scry in M11 is probably too good for current standard, what with a nice sac outlet in the currently overpowered mono-black, the banned preordain, and the Owl generally being better than Omenspeaker.
OMG, they didn't reprint the Scars fastlands! I'd have preferred those to the painlands, it would also enable them to finish the cycle in the first set of Khans without being too concerned about flavor related name stuff, and served similar purpose of aggro-based lands that come in untapped (early on at least).
OMG, they didn't reprint Slumbering Dragon! They have lots of cute dragon related stuff, and it would have been a nice place for it. Maybe we'll see it in Khans block!
OMG, they didn't reprint Platinum Angel! I really like the card, they also didn't put an alternate win condition type effect into the set, after none in Theros block.
OMG, they didn't reprint Bramblecrush! Actually they didn't print any land destruction cards in M15 at all.
OMG, they didn't reprint Smelt! And there is a pretty big artifact theme in M15 as well.
OMG, they didn't reprint Aven Fleetwing! No blue hexproof present, yet the put some in black? Pie wonkiness!
OMG, they didn't reprint Dungrove Elder! No actual hexproof green creatures, only an instant granting temp hexproof...
Personally i would like to see a standard where aggressive decks are more common as opposed to the "spend your way to victory" midrange and the grindy "let's run out of round time game 1" control decks we have had for the last 2 years. Change is always good.

Aggro including budget aggro is very viable right now, it has had more success this season than at any point since Innistrad.
GW aggo isnt even remotely budget. It has a playset of $25 two cost creatures and playsets of $15 and $10 lands. Budget my fanny.
Red aggro decks are not even remotely consistent. If you draw a bad seven, its scoop time. Mull to 6 gives you 1 lessturn of gas which is death to rdw as there are no good draw spells in standard for red. Not even a looting spell. Wild guess eats dongs for breakfast.
Boris burn is good at beating uwx control but nothing else. I rarely see it beat anything else aside from u/b devo and uw control.
It obvious you never actually triednplaying those decks you just like a lot people like to talk out of their ass.
I don't know where you play but here in buffalo NY also known as hell with worse sports teams, all that is being played is courser/sylvan caryatid plus two other colors good stuff decks and aggro loses to that hard. A 2/4 and 0/3 blocker one which gains 1 life per turn and another which is hexproof and generates mana for early fat creatures.

Imagine if red was consistent. That would be absolutely broken. A red deck that can BTE into BTE into cackler turn 2 EVERY match and can continue to draw gas when they've dumped their hand. That's reds part of the colour pie, insane nut draws and speed that can beat anyone on its day, at the cost of inconsistency due to low lands and lack of card draw. You want consistency, play blue.

Giving Aggro too much consistency is dangerous, not to mention as others have pointed out, Aggros been doing FINE since innistrad rav. I put up with more than enough Aggro since then. Honestly I hope something like naya blitz is never ever viable again.
Really I don't get why people complain when the lands are the most expensive component of the deck. It's the one piece that's going to be useable cross format. I ALWAYS feel better buying lands like shocks over some win con like tusk that becomes a dollar card post rotation. Learn to love the splash. You'll be happier in the end.

Have you tried Boss Sligh? It's super cheap and very very good. If you don't like the consistency (it does mulligan a lot) add a couple lands. Problem solved.
