there is no good white devotion deck rite now. with born of the gods coming out, do you think there will be a white devotion deck that will be as good and popular as the black and blue one? if so what do you think the list will look like?
I made a primer on it and have been playing it a little bit. It really doesn't have a bad matchup and is really fun to play. There are a few BnG cards that make it better, but I don't think it's better than Blue or Black.
Well the list looks solid, but theres nothing taking advantage of the white devotion except for heliod, its pretty much just a bad white weenie. However, there are a few botg cards like acolytes reward which would work well to finish off an opponent

"Black should at least be able to kill stuff, right?"

Eidolon of Countless Battles ain't bad either. Devotion is overrated, I think playing the deck as a bigger aggro list is probably the way to go now (Mutavault > Nykthos).
An issue with the list though, is how many damn good three drops white has now. Let me list them all:
Brimaz, Eidolon (although Bestow is the real draw here), Banisher Priest, Frontline Medic, Spear of Heliod Ajani Caller of the Pride, Xathrid Necromancer (if black splash), Fiendslayer Paladin (out of the sideboard)
That's 6 playable three drops, not counting sideboard slayer and the Necromancer. Getting the numbers right seems hard and will probably require hardcore testing. I'd hedge towards Bw devotion, with card choices made to beat Demons, Rats, Barons, Bile Blight, etc.
With that in mind Brimaz is 3-4 copies for sure. Wescoe stated that he would play 4, ignoring the legend rule as when one dies you can just jam another (the power on the card is insane). It's fine logic and might end up the way to go. Banisher Priest picked up a lot of steam due to Mono Blue Devotion, but is a Gray Ogre against control. We'll play 2 for this example. Frontline Medic is outclassed at this point I think, which is unforunate as it's a very strong card in a vacuum. Spear should be 2-3 copies, no questions. Ajani should be at least 1 copy I think, he supports what white is doing extremely well while providing a tangible threat against control, reach, etc.
Eidolon is interesting. I'm not sure it's a 4-of; it's flexible, but Crusader of Oldric isn't playable by itself, so we are mostly looking for the value Bestow with the option to play it as a 3 drop in certain matchups/curves. Keep in mind that it works well with Mutavault. I would start 2 copies as our "curve topper".
As such a list might look like:
30 Weenies
4 Boros Elite
4 Dryad Militant/Judge's Familiar/Loyal Pegasus (probably bad)
4 Soldier of the Pantheon
3 Daring Skyjek/Spirit of the Labrinyth (giving it to Skyjek for now)
4 Precinct Captain
3 Imposing Sovereign
4 Brimaz, King of Imbalance
2 Banisher Priest
2 Eidolon of Countless Battles
8 Spells
2 Spear of Heliod
2 Ajani, Caller of the Pride
4 Brave the Elements
22 Lands
18 Plains
4 Mutavault
Sideboard
2 Banisher Priest
2 Eidolon of Countless Battles (Bestow seems strong against control)
11 cards

The deck is so much fun. Casting big Angels Turn 4-5, thoughtseizing late to protect the big guns.
Brave the elements protects the whole deck, save for *** which gets eaten by Thoughtseize/Collector/Duress(post SB)
Still trying to figure out how to get better CA, but for now it's functioning like a great Tier 2 build. Sometimes I do have problems having a hand full of angels as the curve kind of sucks (part of the problem relying on nyk/devotion strategy). ALmost feels like GR Monsters...
