I went 2-1 in the last FNM I went to Friday night. Played a kid who was playing gruul but did not really know what he was doing and won 2-0 the next guy was playing an izzet deck but got mana screwed both games and i won 2-0. The next deck was a jund deck and i lost the first game, won the second game and was winning the the third when i had to leave for work. The deck runs better with thought scour in the main. I will post more results as i play more with the deck
Here are more results. I went 2-2 again with the last match being a drop because i had to leave for work. We started game three and I had a killer hand which would have been favorable for me. Could have went 3-1 and made top 4 probably.
My only true loss was to a boros aggro deck that maindecked Aureila she won my opponent the game in the last match. The other two decks were two rakdos decks and I easily beat them. The last game was against jund and i kicked ass in the first game. He would play a huntmaster of fels and I would rewind the heck of them and after I untapped my lands I would flash in a Resto Angel or A 5/5 wurm and that was just gravy!!! This deck is preforming well for me with rakdos being favorable and 50-50 in Boros matchups. I can beat Jund but i never get a chance to finish the games because of work.
Round 3: 1-2 to Domri Naya
Game one was really grindy, he eventually got in there on card advantage over the course of the game after playing 3 Domri Rade and 2 Voice of Resurgence.
Game two I boarded in very similar to the Boros matchup, although I think I might've sided in Oblivion Ring as well.
I just played Supreme Verdict on turn 4 killing 3 of his dorks then Advent of the Wurm on his next turn after and he had a hard time coming back from that.
Game three was disappointing. Open hand was 5 lands, a Terminus and some other high costing card, so naturally I mulligan. Then I draw a 1 land hand, mulligan again. Then 5 cards, no land. Mulligan to 4 I keep 2 Temple Garden, a Sphinx's Revelation and Restoration Angel. I played no spells that game and he won swiftly after. I'd really have liked to see how a proper game three would've turned out.
Round 4: 2-0 to BUG Control
Very grindy matches also, we just kept dealing with each others threats as soon as they hit the table. I won in the end purely from playing 2 Sphinx's Revelation in game one. Game two I dont remember much details, but I would've played the role of the aggressor, hanging back counter magic for Aetherling. He kept trying to bait the counters with removal spells on my creatures. Don't fall for it! Aetherling is much worse.
Sideboard was tricky, I had never played a deck like this or was prepared for it.
From memory I sided:
+ 2 Aetherling
+ 2 Oblivion Ring
- 2 Unsummon
- 2 Supreme Verdict
I wanted to side out more, such as Azorius Charm and Augur of Bolas because they just didnt do anything against this matchup.
Finally Round 5: 2-0 to R/W/B aggro.
Game one I played a snapcaster into his attacking Boros Elite, then just picked off the next few creatures one by one until I could play Advent of the Wurm and he conceded.
Game two was long, there were a few times I was about to die but just had the right answers at the right time.
In the end I was on 6 and he played Aurelia, the Warleader and thought he had me, I sphinx's Rev'd for 3 putting me back on 3.
Then I swung in with the 5/5 Wurm, and Restoration Angel for lethal damage, giving them lifelink with Azorius Charm.
Even if he blocked there was no way he could deal 11 damage next turn so the lifelink is what saved me.
Sideboard was the same as the Boros matchup also.
All in all, I think this deck still has some chops if your meta is right for it.
Cards like Voice of Resurgence and Strangleroot Geist do make this deck tough to play though.
I'm still considering adding more Righteous Blow and maybe some sideboard cards for Control matchups. I'll let you guys know if I change anything.
I went 1-1-1 in the last tournament i was playing this deck in.
I beat esper control because he go stuck with bad land matches and when he did beat he drowned me until my library was empty. 2-1
The next matchup was jund and i lost both matches due to either color screw or getting really bad augur or bolases. I played two augur of bolases last game and in the first one i put on the bottom two snapcaster mages and the second bolas put a third on the bottom those were what i needed to stay alive and get his pesky voldaren off the field or his pesky huntmaster. I lost 2-0
The last game went to a draw she was playing a W/G populate deck with resto angels and sigarda and advent of the wurms. I lost the first match when she townshiped a lot of wurms on her side of the field. The next game i sided in unsummons and supreme verdict and supreme verdict killed her. In the last game we went to turns and it ended with her at 4 life. I could have won that one but it went to turns to it was a draw.
Overall this deck is pretty average sometimes its great and works like a charm and some games i get color screwed stuck with three U/W lands and a temple garden trying to cast an advent. Its not cool when that happens.
I have been on Prime Speaker for a while and just not seeing much success.
(Which really figures because you just don't see that list very often at top tables, and if you do its usually one list placing 9-16 - and never in multiples)
Recently I decided to return to my control roots and switch this up to a more Bant Flash / Control style and have been winning quite a few more games and matches since I did.
Not sure how I feel exactly about the SB, and I have a few cards from M14 I'm trying out - but the list feels a lot more consistent and I don't miss top-decking a mana dork at all.
Topdecking Farseek is not much better but at least it takes your possibility of decking a mana accelerant down not running the dorks)
And I really love being able to still outright win with beatdown from good creatures. And I've never liked Augur so I don't miss him here at all. Though I have considered running Snapcaster as a 1-2 of.
Any thoughts on how this list could get better?

What decks are you facing against? I ask because I have been still playing wolf run bant and it feels like it has disappointing results at times.
So I played the deck again at Game Day. Spent a ton of money on fetches for Modern so I didn't build anything else. It was a small event, only 17 players; we had a big Modern tournament the previous week so people weren't up for Standard it seems. Here's the list I settled on:
Fairly standard list. I went up to 3 Augur and 3 Restoration Angels, they seemed really good. In hindsight, I would have preferred only 2 Angels. The 3rd Augur is okay though. I also went to a 3rd Rewind main, I think it's the best card in the deck.
Round 1: Naya Aggro
Game 1:
So I'm playing against Naya; Voice, Domri, Thundermaw, that sort of deal. I mull to 5 game 1, it's hard to do much. He resolved a Domri and Voice early and the game just got out of reach. Thundermaw on 5 was devastating and I couldn't really grind out with 5 cards.
Game 2:
I start double Augur and grind him out. Augurs early can put pressure because they attack and normally net you the return value. They were great here and I just ground him out. Drop a Snap and yeah, not much else to say.
Game 3:
So the game is just us going back and forth for the early portion. The games have lasted a while though, and it gets interesting when we're in time. Game gets interesting at time because I realize I can probably win. Let's skip to turn 4, where I have 2 Angels and 2 Wurms. Turn 4 he attacks me with Huntmaster and a Thundermaw. I block the Thundermaw with one of my two Angels in play and take the Huntmaster. He has 3 mana up after attacking so he has to have Rampager/Boros Charm AND a Pillar, and I think they board out Pillars against us, so I figure I'm safe. If I block the Huntmaster and he uses Rampager to kill the blocker, I only deal 8 or 10 damage to him. If he has a follow up play off his 3 mana, it'll be bad. So I take it, go to 6, and he casts Reckoner and passes. Turn 5 and I should be fine. I've got a pile of lands and Sphinx's Revelation in hand. Any answer to Reckoner and I win. Trample should be enough actually, but if he has Boros Charm in hand we might draw out (turns out he did). I drew an Azorius Charm and that was it. Bounce his Reckoner when he blocks, attack for 13, game.
Record: 1-0
Round 2: Bant Hexproof
Standard Bant Hexproof, Geist, Stalker, Fiendslayer Paladin, and a bunch of auras. I hate Geist, I lose to it in Modern and lost to it like 4 times last weekend.
Game 1:
He doesn't have any hexproof creatures so the Fiendslayer doesn't get there. The game goes pretty fast, he hits a few times with just a Fiendslayer unequipped while I just pound him with a Wurm at some point.
Game 2:
He plays a turn 2 Invisible Stalker and then just goes to town. I didn't see any answers and lost to two hits of 10.
Game 3:
I got mana screwed. He has Geist and Stalker with Spectral Flights equipped and I just need the land for Supreme Verdict, or Ray of Revelation and go to 1. I see neither, and scoop.
Record: 1-1
I can still easily top, X-1-1 should probably make it, we're only running 4 rounds. X-1 definitely makes it.
Round 3: UW Control
Standard UW Control list, counters, draw spells, and Snaps + Aetherlings.
Game 1:
It's extremely grindy as I go double Augur and play a Snap early. We literally just grind the game tooth and nail and eventually I lose to Aetherling. He was one turn away from losing. Close game. 15 minutes left in the round after, wow, we're gonna probably draw it out. Or maybe I'll lose if it's 1-0 (that's how it works right?). Let's hope this game goes faster.
Game 2:
Early Voice and then a turn 4 Wurm. That's all she wrote. It took like 5 minutes, so then yeah, I can at least draw the round out. Since X-1-1 is good, I should be fine.
Game 3:
I think I go double Voice this game. It was really fast. I can't believe I actually won this game. I was expecting us to go to time and draw but we didn't even go to time. Things are really looking up.
Record: 2-1
I might be able to draw in depending on how the math works and draws and such.
Round 4: Jund
No draw sadly, he was paired up from 4 points. If I win I'm in. If I draw, I'm likely in. If he wins, he's in and I'm out.
Game 1:
Double Wurm but he has Olivia and steals my dudes. Ouch. He was really low but I end up losing to Olivia at 7 and my Wurm. He miracles a Bonfire the last turn that I Dissipate. However, with 12 points of damage and only Sphinx's for 2, I'm dead.
Game 2:
I grind out this game with a Wurm and Snap. He has Scavenging Ooze but I'm bouncing it and Rewinding. It worked as the deck should, just curve out well.
Game 3:
Our games took a while, so we run into time. He has a fast start so I just play defence. Knowing that I can top if I draw, I literally just ensure I can't lose the game. We end up drawing and he decides to give me the win. On 5 points he won't make it in for sure, but there's maybe a small chance X-1-1 doesn't make it. It's just how it goes, right?
Record: 3-1 (though technically 2-1-1)
Top 8:
So I make top 8, turns out all the X-1-1s made it so it wouldn't have made a difference if my opponent didn't give me the win. I play a different person but whatever. All I hope is I don't play this one person because I just always lose to him, regardless of what deck either of us play.
Round 1: GW Dudes
I'm not sure exactly what this deck is. It has Elves, Rancors, and Fiendslayer Paladin, with some Oblivion Rings. Annoying for sure but my 5/5s beat 4/2s.
Game 1:
I actually Unsummoned an Elf turn 1 and he went double Elf turn 2. Turns out denying him early worked out, as I just eventually cast a Wurm and he couldn't deal with it. He had like 3/1 Elves thanks to Rancors but like, Restoration Angel and Wurm block them so well, I probably I got him with an Angel too. I think there were some Sphinx's for a bunch too, the life total on the paper beside me just keeps going up for me. Easy win.
Game 2:
He goes early Fiendslayer and Rancor, but it's no match for a giant Wurm. Wurm block the Fiendslayer and survive. Then just bash for 5 a bunch until he dies.
Off to round 2. The guy I didn't want to face lost, so the finals are looking good actually. The UW Control player and the Naya Aggro player I played were in to top 4, as well as some kid who just started playing and has some janky Boros deck. He got into top 4 because of collusion apparently. The guy he played told him he'd take the packs he'd get as a 3rd/4th place finish (9 packs) and give him the win. There was no judge there or else they'd definitely have been DQ'd. Oh well, whatever, I'm told by some friends I would crush him.
Round 2: UW Control
Playing against the same person as before. It should be interesting cause the matchup is probably 50/50 or so.
Game 1:
He drew poorly and missed his 4th land drop for like 6 turns. It was crushing obviously, whatever. Scoop 'em up and go to the next one.
Game 2:
Really grindy but eventually he just gets there with Aetherling. The card is a lot of trouble for us to deal with. None of our removal kills it, and so I lost to it.
Game 3:
It was a REALLY long game, and really intensive. Almost no attacking or anything until his Aetherling resolves. The game ended really bad though. I drew lands for 4 or 5 turns straight with like a Voice and Snapcaster in play. When I drew Augur on my last turn, I hit 3 lands. I scooped showing him 3 lands in hand, 3 lands from Augur, with 15 lands in play. GG. He actually got to Jace ult me and take a Wurm too.
Result: top 4, $30 store credit.
Ultimately it wasn't bad, and the deck's not bad. Going forward, I would 100% move to play Pithing Needle in the board. It stops Aetherling and Planeswalkers and it's not even bad against the lands like Wolf Run. Also stops Ooze. Since Aetherling is the hardest card to deal with, it's definitely a good choice. The deck's biggest flaw is having no hard removal for anything, and having no non-creature removal. I think a Cyclonic Rift or Oblivion Ring would be really good as well.
Rewind was an all star again, surprise surprise. Snapcaster Rewind into Angel or Wurm is just so much value. Dispel out of the board is also insane. I would definitely cut an Angel and add like a Rift or something, the Angel isn't that good and I cut it a lot. I also think Thought Scour loses a ton of value with Ooze in the format.
Augurs were hit and miss for me. Double Augur openers happened a few times and were insanely good. That said, I think I hit 3 lands like 40% of the time. It always happens to me and I always lose because of it. It happened the last time I played this deck too. And the thing is, I'm generally flooded in those cases too, both had me drawing tons of lands and losing the tournament to Augur 3 lands. I don't think Call of the Conclave would have been any better though.
Here's my current list:
4 Snapcaster Mage
3 Restoration Angel
3 Thought Scour
2 Unsummon
4 Azorius Charm
2 Essence Scatter
2 Think Twice
2 Dissipate
3 Sphinx's Revelation
4 Advent of the Wurm
1 Rewind
2 Supreme Verdict
4 Breeding Pool
4 Glacial Fortress
4 Hallowed Fountain
4 Hinterland Harbor
1 Island
4 Sunpetal Grove
4 Temple Garden
3 Renounce the Guilds
2 Rest in Peace
2 Selesnya Charm
2 Oblivion Ring
2 Supreme Verdict
2 Aetherling
1 Terminus
I'll tell you a bit about my matches from last nights FNM.
Round 1: 2-0 to Jund
I dont remember much of the gameplay, I just countered/removed his threats and beatdown with wurm. Sideboard was:
+ 2 Oblivion Ring
+ 3 Renounce The Guilds
+ 2 Selesnya Charm
+ 2 Aetherling
- 2 Unsummon
- 3 Augur Of Bolas
- 4 Snapcaster Mage (incase of graveyard hate).
Renounce the guilds is key here, gets rid of everything especially Sire Of Insanity.
Round 2: 2-0 to Boros Aggro
Pretty easy matchup with Augur of Bolas, Unsummon/Azorius Charm and Snapcaster Mage. Making them top deck their 1-Drop Champion of the Parish or Boros Elite keeps them off their mid game. Remember to play around Boros Charm! I think I sided like this:
+ 1 Righteous Blow
+ 2 Supreme Verdict
+ 1 Terminus
- 2 Dissipate
- 1 Rewind
- 1 Sphinx's Revelation
Righteous Blow was amazing here, thinking of adding more.

(Which really figures because you just don't see that list very often at top tables, and if you do its usually one list placing 9-16 - and never in multiples)
Recently I decided to return to my control roots and switch this up to a more Bant Flash / Control style and have been winning quite a few more games and matches since I did.
My current take on this list:
3 Restoration Angel
4 Thragtusk
2 Jace, Architect of Thought
4 Azorius Charm
2 Detention Sphere
1 Dissipate
4 Farseek
1 Plasm Capture
4 Sphinx's Revelation
3 Supreme Verdict
1 Syncopate
2 Terminus
2 Think Twice
4 Breeding Pool
4 Glacial Fortress
4 Hallowed Fountain
4 Hinterland Harbor
4 Sunpetal Grove
4 Temple Garden
2 Acidic Slime
1 Archangel of Thune
1 Clone
1 Cyclonic Rift
1 Domestication
2 Negate
1 Progenitor Mimic
3 Rest in Peace
1 Supreme Verdict
1 Syncopate
1 Terminus
Not sure how I feel exactly about the SB, and I have a few cards from M14 I'm trying out - but the list feels a lot more consistent and I don't miss top-decking a mana dork at all.
Topdecking Farseek is not much better but at least it takes your possibility of decking a mana accelerant down not running the dorks)
And I really love being able to still outright win with beatdown from good creatures. And I've never liked Augur so I don't miss him here at all. Though I have considered running Snapcaster as a 1-2 of.
Any thoughts on how this list could get better?

In round 1, game 3 I am trying to imagine how you got 4 4cc cards into play by turn 4. Unless there are other wurms/angels I am missing.

It was turn 4 of time, which is the 5 extra turns we have to complete the game. The game prior to time in the round eludes me. Sorry that was unclear.
