I've gone off of Voice, as much as I love the card, I just don't think it lives up to its potential in a list with so few other creatures on board. I realize the trade off for being more aggressive with Paladins and Aces is the potential to get blown out, but I've generally found the risk is worth the reward.
I went with Paladins over Ajani, as some have mentioned, because in a pinch, the Paladin can do work for you on his own, Ajani is a horrible top deck after a board wipe. I also rarely attack with the Paladin if he's paired. He's almost another aura that can be an emergency outlet.
Selesnya Charms are in there in case I do have to rely on Silverblade as an instant speed pairing target, and the pump and removal modes can come in handy. I think I want to drop it to 1 Selesnya though. Maybe a 4th Paladin.
I don't really think M14 has provided too many maindeck options for this archetype. I hope it doesn't die after rotation, but only the new block will tell.
Going to try testing out the rare color haters in the sideboard to see if either warrants maindeck consideration. I think both definitely have potential. I'm especially excited for the new Paladin, since pro black/red is kind of psuedo-hexproof

Have a helicopter drop you off out front. Light your cigar with a small Indonesian boy holding a black lotus. Then bust out a craw wurm deck with no sleeves. Raw dog shuffle, loose terribly, flip the table, leave in a hovercraft.
This is the deck that Jon Stern took to a 3rd place finish at a PTQ in Montreal Canada on the 6th of this month. Are we going back to Paladins now, because I like that idea a lot...

I think that voice may have pushed decks that run red removal toward pillar instead of spear, which does make for an environment that is friendlier for silverblade paladin.
I have been working a lot to try to find the best mix between auras, hexproof creatures and spells and silverblade is more of a spell than a creature in the way that we use it. I don't mean that as a negative of course, it's just something i've been thinking about.
On the other hand fiendslayer paladin has the same cost and it has a number of abilities that if taken together may be more valuable than the conditional doublestrike granted by the silverblade. Silverblade sometimes steals games but fiendslayer is more in line with the core purpose of the deck.
I think it would be interesting to play stern's deck with a direct swap of paladins.
I just don't see where we have room for her in this format. When we lose stalker maybe she can replace him. Do you feel she is more valuable than any of the creatures in my post? The arbor elf is a mistake, and needs to be removed. That was back when I was running only 21 land which I now feel was a mistake.
Gladecover is for the all-in approach I think. Makes the deck feel more combo-ish rather than aggro-ish. Don't think I didn't try some games with her as soon as it was spoiled. I was definitely excited. BUt even in modern I play a more consistent, beat-down oriented, version of this deck. Rather than the all-in bogle version
Agreed regarding gladecover. Combos out big but also sometimes falls on her face.
If we don't get any other hexproofs from theros then we're stuck with gladecover. In the meantime we get more consistent results out of stalker.
I think that if we get a premium aura to complement ethereal armor (daybreak coronet style) then we can afford to run the combo oriented creatures. We need another premium aura though. 1 or 2 mana and a mix of buffs that makes gladecover a must answer threat.
If divine favor were buffed so that it also granted flying and vigilance, that's the kind of thing i'm talking about.
Running hexproof bant with some of the new M14 cards....went two and two last night and two and two monday night...bonfire hurting, along with hellkites and the like...I'm wondering what people are running with their sideboards and what you replace...it feels like if I swap out enchantments I am left with weak creatures, and if I swap out creatures I am left with enchantments with no creatures to enchant...
I am looking to run silence as a slow down to all other decks which should allow me to get my deck going and finish them. I tried 2 and came in 11th out of 74 (only losing to a mega fast red deck when I didn't see them). Any thoughts?
