According to Patrick Chapin's analysis on the 6/3/13, Bant Hexproof comprises about 3.64% total of the current metagame over the course of the last 5-6 weeks. If you look at the deck's actual performance on the site you linked, you'll see it took 1st in 5 of the State Championships, Top 8'd in almost half the rest, and claimed 6 out of the Top 16 slots in the Boston TCGplayer 5k. For a deck that is played in such small numbers-- again, only 3.64% of the metagame-- it's performance is exceptional, proportionally speaking.
But hey, maybe your anecdotal evidence > my anecdotal evidence. Who knows.

Have a helicopter drop you off out front. Light your cigar with a small Indonesian boy holding a black lotus. Then bust out a craw wurm deck with no sleeves. Raw dog shuffle, loose terribly, flip the table, leave in a hovercraft.
I went 3-1 - not too bad for just getting back into the game and inexperienced with a deck. Overall I like the deck, but it feels very vulnerable to tempo. It is fun when it opens up on people though.
G/W seems like the most solid choice. Even without Thrag and Resto, there's loads of sweet cards in those colors in RTR block. Loxodon Smiter, Selesnya Charm, Voice of Resurgence, Advent of the Wurm, Unflinching Courage, Trostani, etc.
Definitely a G/W base to get started. I was bored at the lgs one day and they needed an extra player to even out the standard fnm. So I looked in my trade binder and saw i had cards for a G/W aggro with rancors and unflinching courage, Its basically bant hexproof without geists. Had a blast playing it and I went 3-1. The INN cards which cost anything were champions and silverblades, the rest were RTR or cheap commons/uncommons.
Best part is, its easy enough to go naya or bant hexproof depending on how you want the deck to be, since some of the creature base is shared by all.
A UW based control deck actually draws almost all of its power from RTR block as well.
Supreme Verdict, Sphinx's Revelation and Azorius Charm are still the core of that.

Thanks again for all of your input. I took some of the early advice on Naya Aggro and built this list for FNM last night:
