Welcome to the Standard Gauntlet Thread! The purpose of this thread is to compile a list of the most relevant standard decks, and for each of those decks, a sample decklist from a recent tournament (preferably with a good result in a competitive event such as a Grand Prix or a StarCityGames Open). These decks are going to be updated regularly, and the intention is that this thread is going to serve as your first stop when you want to quickly update yourself on what the current metagame looks like.
And on that note, I suppose I should say that this thread is operated by Standard moderators + a small number of trusted regulars. So don't report this thread for illegal use of modtext, etc
For this thread, the "no decklists in the main standard forum" rule doesn't apply. Feel free to suggest decklists to add to this thread. But if you do, also include:
Pilot's name
Tournament
Date
Finish
And preferably a link to the source. Also, no budget decks please. This thread is only for proven competitive decks with results to back them up.
We hope you'll find this thread useful, and that it'll prove to be a handy resource!
I like it. Good start. I would like to point out I think the GW Tokens list is a bit dated. Bland was actually only 3-3 in standard portion even though he came in 2nd overall. I would probably use either this 5-1 list from Worlds on Nov 17th:
I'm not sure if decks that aren't classified as competitive by the mods are included in this list but looking at the MTGO metagame the mage-blade/delverblade archetype has become something people need to be prepared for with 5.2% of all 4-0 decks for the past week fitting in that archetype (compared to GW tokens' 4.9% and Tempered Steel's 3.6% for the same period). I'm not sure if this qualifies as a proper competitive situation but one pilot (Hyper) has managed 12 4-0 tournaments over three weeks (with several others having 6+ 4-0's for the same period) with this list:
The list keeps most of the delver tempo shell but swaps the illusions for equipment and extra token generators. Fundamentally it behaves like a normal delver tempo deck but it has a focus on the mid-game and has a different end game. This list also bears a few similarities to the list Gerry T recently published at SCG that has been getting a lot of attention as a likely evolution of Illusions.
Thanks, MrPajitnov That deck does seem better than I initially gave it credit for, and I'll update the first post with that deck as an alternate (better?) version of Illusions. I'll also probably move the U/W Runepike deck back to the Illusions subforum.
Are we not considering P. Chapin's "5 color control" list as competitive?
It obviously did well at Worlds (5-1 I believe, like many of the decks on this list) and it's inundated my control-hungry meta, however I don't have the research of any continued success.

For those scientifically inclined, check this out. Some interesting points for you to consider.
I'd still like to find a way to get this thread a bit more spotlight - one idea is to have someone post a link and a notice to it on MTGS' facebook whenever it's updated. I think a large part of the problem is that our standard population is so fragmented between various subs, and also, the number of stickies competing for space (there are ten others). Potentially, that could be solved with a redirect to this thread from each of the various standard subs. That could make a deal of sense, since referring to these lists is going to be very relevant for both "developing competitive" and archetype players.
An article digest may also work. We would need someone to contact the writing forum moderators to partner on that.
How many people do we have actively taking point on this? I don't want it to fall solely on Sene's shoulders, as he has a lot of other responsibilities on top of this.
Main post updated with decklists from Grand Prix Orlando.

The Sally Facebook page only has ~250 members, so it needs more publicity. However, updates like this should give people incentive to follow it.

Indeed, but this is because of the nature of the forum. It's so populated and heavily trafficked that I can't see an alternative solution for that, other than de-sticking a few threads (The Official "I Need Help Deciding What To Play" Thread and The Official "Complain About Standard Card Prices" Thread seem like they can be unstuck, and potentially linked to in the Standard Forum Rules like in Magic General). Metamorph's "How to Build Better Decks" thread can also probably be moved to Standard Deck Creation.

With RDW winning multiple SCG opens and top 8's since Innistrad's release, is it Tier 2 because of the percentage of people that play it? It doesn't make sense to me, It's win/loss ratio seems better than some of the other deck types making me believe it should be in the tier 1 category.
Realistically he should only be unblockable without equipment
Guard 1: There goes a sword floating down the street!
Guard 2: Well, he's unblockable, so ignore it.
Eat your greens kids, omnath does, and it makes him strong....
I'm assuming by competitive, that means big tournaments, not just local events, right?
Yes. Pro Tours, Grand Prix events, SCGOpens and PTQ top 8s (when Standard is the format of the season) - those are pretty much the only events we will pay attention to in regards to the Gauntlet thread. Speaking of which, we will soon update the first post with decks from the most recent SCGOpen.
In my humble opinion, i would like to see G/W humans in the Tier 2 list. It has been in the top 8 of events, and i feel that it deserves a place on this thread. Even though its not as good as g/w tokens, with dark ascension you never know.
The re-animator deck listed has 6 unburial rites amongst the 75... Can someone find the original list to correct it?
Thanks for the heads-up, the list on the Mothership was incorrect, found the right one. Those two Unburial Rites in the sideboard were actually Wurmcoil Engines.
Given the recent change in the Competitive forum structure, I thought it would be helpful to offer a reminder that the links to each deck's competitive subforum must be updated.
