Hi(Again if you have replied to my closed thread due to laziness).
Hi guys. I recently thought of playing a splicer and it isnt going well for me.
My friends tell me to squeeze Adaptive automaton and Solemn simulacrum, i just dont have the space to. Etched monstrosity and Melira are kind just backup. I did play test the deck before i took my friends on and it went pretty well, provided i have a good hand at the start. After that, it was just full of shet.
Out of 10 games, i lost all of them. Either i got too much mana, or no mana at all. So yeah. Thanks in advance for your replies. The rules are just too many to follow in like 2 minutes and infraction right of the bat, lulz.
I hope i've done it right this time and not some hidden rules that i should know but i dont.
In the other thread you considered "birthing pod" a so-so idea but then thought that shape anew combo was a good one
So ill save the rest of my suggestions for someone they wont be wasted on... but you should cut every single card in the first category I listed to start.
'Out of 10 games, i lost all of them. Either i got too much mana, or no mana at all.'
nope you lost because your CMC curve is complete nonsense your deck is very poor at best, and as a result your perception of your mana issues were altered.
Good decks can still miss land drops multiple times and win (or have a manabase that nearly never misses land drops)

It is a pretty good idea, but not really viable. I still had to sac an artifact right? I get what you mean by sac-ing blade splicer and finding the other splicers but i really think it is so-so. I'll till take up your suggestion and try it out. So if i am to remove those on the list and add 4x birthing pod, anything else i should have?

I dont understand what you mean you would not be saccing an artifact.
birthing pod is in play
You play blade splicer and blade splicer enters the field and triggers the golem creation
You have ONE 3/3 golem and blade splicer
you SAC blade splicer (the artificer not the golem he made)
You then search your library for a 4cmc creature lets say master splicer,
he then enters the field and you have master splicer and TWO 4/4 golem creatures in play
the pod lets you also run less of the worse splicers and use them as tutor targets for their abilities
If you are going to do splicers, U/W is best, then you have access to Venser and Wing Splicer, as well as counters. You also have access to Cackling Counterpart, which is very good for splicer decks.
You really need to be playing blue, not inky does it give you access to flying (via wingsplicer) but also let's you run Venser, both his +2 and -1 are killer in a Splicer deck.
It also allows you to run stonehorn dignitary which allows you to buy time.
Precursor golem is just bad unless you can defend him (shatter, doom blade, and incinerate become one sided, two mana wrath of god. Milera and monstrosity are WAY too inconsistent as one ofs without tutoring

Thanks guys. I'll try it and see how it goes. Right so i should have the usual standard blue spells like leak?
Probably 25, maybe even 26, but I wouldn't recommend running a standard blue control deck. Not all blue needs to run mana leak, and I think that your deck is one that wouldn't. What you would want/need are cards that make you resilient to cheap removal (i.e. Vapor Snag). Now, Vapor Snag doesn't work all that well against you anyway since you can just cast it for value again, but, cards like Cackling Counterpart make your opponents removal seem null and void. Mana Leak is a good card, but I would go with things that allow you to win quicker over cards that prevent you from losing. My $0.02

Mana leak is for those threats. A "just in case" situation. Otherwise, do advice.
I would say you don't want to have green. It doesn't offer much besides the regeneration splicer, and maybe Parallel Lives, but even that isn't that good. Keep it U/W. I doubt I would run counters, but that is just me.
I have a deck that is focused towards Splicers and it is generally pretty consistent, even with it taking up 3 colours. At FNM's I managed to retain a pretty consistent 2-2 (general 50/50 win loss rate, which whilst not great in some eyes, 99% of the time the losses came from control decks with Delver and Snapcaster. On average it hits harder than other aggro decks and generally outpaces most combo decks.
How you design this deck is mainly gonna depend on how you want to play the game. If you want to aggro out and generally hit hard and fast, its better as a GW deck, if you want control as its basis, with the Splicers as your attack base, its better to take it UW. Personally, I see the GW as the better choice, especially if you play intangible virtues or Tempered Steel. There are few plays better than a turn 2 Blade Splicer and a turn 3 Virtue/Steel.
I agree that GW is definitely more aggro. But it seems like the UW is somewhat faster with ponder and gitaxian probe. I did manage to get 3 tempered steels with ponder.

The only reason why i would have green in the first place was cos of parallel lives. My friend then suggested that i could pump my guys with precursor golem and mutagenic growth. But it didnt turn out well.
I dont see the benefit of Etched Monstrosity in a splicer deck, it just seems a wasted space. I'd much rather put a Titan (Sun, Primeval or Frost) or Elesh Norn in that one of space. Splicers as a deck hit hard and all 4 of those aid in that, Etched generally hits the field and just sits there as a vanilla fattie.
If you are going UW, it would be worth playing a Venser, the Sojourner, blinking splicers has no downside, nor does the unblockable ability.
Much like the person above me, I've been working the splicers to death for a long time now and am fairly happy with how they are, 50/50 win/loss rate at FNM isnt great but it shows promise (and most of the decks that I lose to are control which is the deck's weak point because of the high mana costs), that said, it has gone through 4 different iterations since my last FNM.
BTW, thanks for all the help guys. I find that UW works better than GW for me. I may splash G to try some time, but im just going to leave it like that for now.
Ghost Quarter is in there mainly for Wolf Run and Inkmoth. Though it can also hurt Frites at times because of their light basic land count.
Also, because of a limited card pool, I run a variation of this deck for extended/modern games in my LGS, where the ghost quarter is a godsend at times.
If you're having trouble with sweepers, Moorland Haunt can be a huge bonus. Turn those lost creatures into more creatures. Seance works just as well.

I guess they're worth a try. Looks promising.
you should try out intangible virtue and mimic vat and maybe some dispatches. that what i run.
