I am having trouble with inkmoth infecting me to death. Is there any other answer out there besides divine offering? They are usually carrying a sword so its more than 1 point of infect damage. Dismember maybe?
Not really but I never seem to have them at the right time. And with Keesig in play, trample and infect = gg for me. Suggestions Mel?
Ah, I encounter more MBI than Kessig decks, so the Inkmoths are 1/1s that stay that way and they just trade. I know people used to (back when this was in developing competitive) talk about siding ghost quarter in place of Moorland Haunt for that matchup. Mostly I just drop an early Mirran Crusader and kill them way before Inkmoth Nexus is relevant though.
Obviously, that solution isn't foolproof. I used to recommend Spellskite for that matchup, they wont' even attempt to pump as long as it's on the field, but I'd only do that if your meta is overflowing with wolf run and you have a lot of trouble with the matchup, it's otherwise a bad fit for the deck. If you're really desperate, Dismember will do the job and it might already be in your sideboard for dealing with Infect. I haven't tested much against WRR though because I don't see it in my meta.
what's the context? inkmoth nexus is in alot of decks and performs very differently in each one. is it inkmoth in Wolf Run Ramp? inkmoth in UW Blade? inkmoth in mono-black infect? makes a big difference.
for example, i think its reasonable to try and actively disrupt the inkmoths in UW Blade since they are often investing heavily in them (by equipping with swords, for example) and have trouble replacing the land if you kill it. it wouldn't, however, be worth trying to destroy inkmoth nexi against a Wolf Run Ramp deck. they can put all 4 into play very easily and losing the land won't effect them much.
@ Mel maybe you are right and ghost quarter would work in the haunt spot. Two matchups I lost last week were both to inkmoth. One was MBI and the other was U/W with swords I think. Ghost quarter would have helped in both. I will have to test it.
Thanks to xeno for the sig and avvy!!!

I tend to trade with it with a spirit token, are you having trouble keeping those in play for some reason?
