anyone else think it sucks how they can be an absolute game winner at times but usually cause some serious CA for your opponent getting a 2 for 1 by removing the targeted critter
Regular enchantments don't usually get 2-for-1'd. It is Auras that lead to problems. Even then, if you play Auras as removal (Pacifism, Arrest, etc.), it is harder to be 2-for-1'd.
But actually enchantress standard before shards rotation was incredible:
4 kor spiritdancer
4 mesa enchantress
4 arbor elf
4 spider umbra
4 hyena umbra
4 sigil of the empty throne
4 trace of abundance
and in the old extended i played with 4 ghostly prison
and 2 wheel of sun and moon.
What Allsunday says proves to be right. Kor spirit dancer and mesa enchantress both gave draw a card, and with the sigil create an army of angels. Was amazing, could take on polymorph any sunday. I also used some canopy cover, and for a while i included some blue with the seaside citadel and halimar depths to play lorescale coatl and spreading seas, this last one worked wonders against jund.

Encantamientos is the word in spanish.
Artifacts are much more versatile than auras. Equipment doesn´t die with the creature unless he is hit by a turn to slag. Artifact creatures fight while there is no enchantment creature that is worth.
If only auras were not as fragile, kor spiritdancer would have rocked in standard.
But that is another story.
Very poor enchantments were printed in mirrodin block. Tempered steel is the only one mentioning, and is a boring one: just pumps weenies. If you wanna pump a weenie use the Tezzeret´s -1 on an ichorclaw myr.
Some are absolutly horrible: Dissipation field is less than meh; inexorable tide is worthless; painful quandry is ugly.
true conviction si fantastic but too expensive, ascetism is just awsome but also too expensive. Very worthy in commander/EDH.
Corrupted conscience is a great tool in the U/B infecting tezzeret that i´m brewing. But that is about it for enchantments in bieseged.
Exclusion ritual seems interesting in the venser/splicer deck, but phyrexian unlife is just the silliest card they printed. No one is goning to play that, not even if Melira was a planeswaker.
Glistening oil worked wonders at the pre-release. And parasitic implant is great removal for limited. But bludgeon brawl? Really? Trying to make the ichor wellspring more useful... maybe with puresteel paladin... hopefully.
So yes, in conclusion, not a good block for enchantresses, or enchantors. We´ll wait to see if Innistrad brings some nice stuff, far from metal and infect.

Playing:
Death's Shadow Jund
Played:
Kiki Chord, Zoo variants, Goblins, Burn
It can be a huge pain to get online tho and can easily be disrupted after you do

Legacy has a fun deck called Enchantress that uses tons of enchantments to win and actually generate card advantage via Argothian Enchantress and Enchantress's Presence.
Auras are bad and you should feel bad, though.
