What's up everyone? I'm new to the forum, been playing mtg almost a year.
Im just looking for some constructive critiscism for my deck. I've been wanting to get into competetive play lately so i need help figuring out if my deck is good enough to play at FNM.
Skill is an ability that relates more so to the type of deck that's built and how said player pilots it. It also relates to the ability to assess the board and use the cards available to you in the most optimal way relative to each situation.
When a deck is filled with above par cards and every play is solid, there comes a diminishing need to "think" for the lack of wanting to use a better word.
Ever thought about making into a combo deck? I mean you could add Arid Mesa to tutor your Plains and from there, I don't have to tell you about the endless possibilities
An ability exists on the stack independently of its source. Removal of the source after that time won't affect the ability. Some abilities cause a source to do something rather than the ability. Any activated or triggered ability that references information about the source checks that information when the ability is put onto the stack. Otherwise, it will check that information when it resolves. If the source is no longer in the zone it's expected to be in, its last known information is used.
This list significantly slows down Plains.dec. I mean how I look at it is that you can't have 50% of your land CITPT as It really hurts the speed of the deck
I agree that it slows down the deck a smidgeon, but I think as long as you get Plains in your opening hand you should be fine. Just mulligan til you get it; I know there's only one in the deck, but it could happen.

The Arid mesa gives you double the chance to draw Plains, but the problem I'm having during testing is that If i draw it While Plains is in my hand already.. It's a dead card.
How are the match-ups against Island.dec and Swamp.dec?

I think that the ability to force an opening hand Plains means that we have an answer to most of what Island.dec can throw at us. I haven't playtested against Swamp.dec, but since it looks like we've refined it, I think I'll sleeve it up and take it to FNM.

hey. Dont talk about rotations before they happens, thats an infraction.
Personally I'm a big believer in the power of plains.dec. In fact Ive smacked down the plains before and had people scoop upon seeing it (fnm record 78-5-2) But it does have one core weakness... Plainswalkers.
It seems VERY diluted at first glance, as it differs heavily from your run-of-the-mill mountain-deck-wins, but it plays very well. It maintains most of the speed of MDW, but slows down a little so it can work up to the big finish of Demolish.

Some facts of magic:
-Terror is an emotion which, when experienced, results in death.
-The pox was a disease notorious for having killed one-third, rounded up, of Europe’s population. Smallpox, on the other hand, killed only a single person.
-A person riding a horse cannot be stopped by foot soldiers, large animals, walls, archers, or even catapults.

Plains

One plains simply isn't enough to compete in an environment with Spreading Seas.
i wanna sig this for hilarity.

This deck is, well....plain

[MANA]UB[/MANA] Draw, Go BU

I collect Mirror of Fate (18) and Darksteel Relic (5)!
The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's too late to stop reading it....
the decklist would look something like this
1x Arid Mesa
And you could Side in Mountain for those pesky Malakir Bloodwitchs
:symu::symw: Control
Plains
1 Plains
This. It will be legal 5 years from now (too soon?).

Maybe if you adjusted your deck a little, so it looked more like this.
1x Jungle Shrine
[MANA]UB[/MANA] Draw, Go BU

So We can agree that the Optimal Build would be..
1x Arid Mesa
1x Jungle Shrine

With that said, can we make it possible to sig entire threads?
Akuma will wreck you.
4x Baneslayer
Enough Said... XD!!!

Smouldering decay
Take your breath away
Millions of our years
In minutes disappears
that loses to island.dec
I'm currently running this, and it's a bit smoother than plains.dec, and has a great matchup against mountain.dec
It's like this...
1x Island
1x Glacial Fortress
1x Scalding Tarn
The Glacial fortress is against forest.dec, which tends to be run over by it. the white helps a tad bit
2x Rootbound Crag
2x Scalding Tarn
3x Demolish
It seems VERY diluted at first glance, as it differs heavily from your run-of-the-mill mountain-deck-wins, but it plays very well. It maintains most of the speed of MDW, but slows down a little so it can work up to the big finish of Demolish.
