Interesting build! Thanks for pointing it out to me. At first glance:
22 land seems really ambitious. I realize they've got 8 mana dorks to compensate but in this environment that feels too fragile. High risk high reward tho.
Adventurous Impulse is one I hadn't looked at, and will add to my shortlist.
I do like how low to the ground it is (I've been considering ways to pare down my top end).
Lack of Jadelight is interesting - I spose that's due largely to it being an unprofitable body against Chainwhirler even when fully plussed. I like it because I'm running Climbs to benefit faster, but that could just be flat-out wrong at this point.
I'd really like to see how Allosaurus performed. I've dismissed it previously but maybe it warrants a second look.
Vehicles. I'm missing out on that package and sadly there's nothing I can do about the Hearts. I can find Skysovereigns and Harvesters but there is no replacement for Heart, and without Heart I don't know that the rest of the vehicles are enough. Maybe I'm wrong in that?
Definitely going to take a longer look at this list and see what testing I can do with it.

With +4 dorks and 2 Impulse I wouldn't mind going to 22 land.
Allosaurus is indeed intriguing!
if you have Magic cards laying around then get on PucaTrade and ship them out to get points you can then use to get cards you need!
I do it all the time, love it, built the deck using it!
One of the traditional downside of Stompy is the draw engine. The blue splash in Memory is strong for it. But the opponent also draws 7 cards....
Stompy has one of the better draw engines, or just card advantage in Branchwalkers and rangers, if they are played main.
SB playing bestiary is HUGE, especially in versions with Rampager.
Committ is the main reason for the Blue splash, counters settle the wreckage and deals with difficult creature like scarob go, GFG, PHoenixes, hazoret......
draw the cards at the end might come in handy.
Then the 2 negates are obviously good against control.
Committ though! genious!
I wanna read a report from someone from that team!
With GP Orlando a few months out, Ive decided to make my return to competitive Magic. Opted to go with Mono Green as its a good non interactive deck to get my feet wet with since its been over a decade since my last tournament. Picked up the cards last night and will be looking to test the following (not sure If I can make a local FNM tomorrow but next week for sure):
Not sure about the Carnage Tyrants. I picked up a few Duress as well but early access to black mana could be an issue given the mana base. Regarding the mana base, wondering if a singleton Swamp would be worth it in case Field of Ruin rears its head.

With MonoRed and R/b Aggro being so much of the meta, I think the reason there were ZERO deck lists with Scrapheaps was because they dont block. I think using Ballistas as the list did or Khenras might be the way to go.
Played UB control last night on mtgo and happened to be paired against Steal Leaf Stompy with the blue splash.
Mono Green splash for blue is a build I'm considering with the upcoming RPTQ team event. The counterspells work wonders against control decks. It makes cards like Blossoming Defense even more of a blowout. It's one thing to try and use spot removal for Steal Leef and friends; but a follow up Negate is so back breaking. My opponent did cast memory and drew into Negate and Blossoming Defense. That quickly made my short of me in G3.
So as a player who is constantly testing, I'd highly recommend the U splash. It is better against the things the deck is traditionally weak against, control and sweepers. Also, with the older version of Steal Leaf Stompy being destroyed at the PT, the inclusion of Servant of the Conduit helps mitigate the eventual T3 Chainwhirler blow outs. The versions I played against also played Adventurous Impulse which is you are looking to cut GB snek from your trio, this card allows the threats to keep coming.

That's fair but
1) for all i know my local meta could be sweeper heavy
2) Explore creatures dont line up well with Red in general already.
A "beefier" build may indeed be called for but I'll know more as I familiarize myself with what the locals are playing.
Assuming Chainwhirlers everywhere, what are your thoughts on Adventurous Impulse replacing Llanowar Elves? It loses the explosive T2 plays, but gains resilience. Plus Impulse is a far better late-game draw.
So i was thinking about the blue version of this deck. What about replacing Allosaurus with Ripjaw Raptor? Draws a card off Chainwhirler and still defeats it in combat. If you play Ballista, you can ping your own Raptor to draw cards, giving green a "Pay 4, draw a card" ability. Nature's Way would essentially read "destroy target creature.Draw a card" as well. Thoughts?
Played FNM and then a small Standard tournament this morning. UG version went 2-3 (W's v UW Control & UW Gift, L's v BG Snake, Jeskai Superfriends, & UB Midrange). BG was 1-2 (W v RW Aggro, L's v R(w) Aggro, UG Merfolk). Despite the record, BG felt like the better deck to me. May go full on Mono Green next week.
I tried the Ballista + Raptor package but only had it active once the entire night. Always found myself holding Commit and nothing useful to do with it.
Hello everyone. I've played six leagues over the past few days with the G/u version of the list to an 18-12 record. With some tighter play, I'm sure it could have been around 20-10 instead, but the punts are real. Here's the list I'm currently at:
As far as this version goes, there are a few specific things worth mentioning. I'm a big fan of the Baral's Expertise. I tried Time of Ice, but found that it never was able to get me back into a game when I was behind. The expertise, however, allows you to not only remove their board, but add to your own, so its a huge tempo play and can bring you back into games no other card can. Also, I haven't found the double blue to be too hard on the mana base.
I only play two Heart of Kiran because without Scrapheap Scrounger from the black splash, there's two few ways to crew it. I was not very impressed with the Resilient Khenras, so I'm going with servants and branchwalkers.
The matchups that are the hardest imo are those with Ravenous Chupacabra. That things is a beating and I never want to see it, and if they ever get it back with The Scarab God its basically over. I don't really mind the UW control match up, though I haven't faced it with my newest list. Just play around settle the wreckage and get a little lucky and you should be alright. The 4 Thrashing Brontodons help a lot. Against other creature decks, Baral's Expertise is a complete beating and if you cast something off of it its probably game. And we're naturally good against the red decks due to our size.
For sideboarding, against control decks I generally take out the Ghaltas, the Skyship, the Ripjaw and the Baral's expertise for the Nissas, the Carnage Tyrant, and the Counterspells. Then, if its a black based control deck, bring in the sanctuary's for mana creatures. Bring in the canopy against white based control decks.
Against R/x aggro, I take out a Heart, the Commit, and two mana creatures for the two harvesters, and the two scavengers.
Against random midrangey creature stuff just grab the extra expertise, the skyship and carnage tyrant if they're good, and ride big creatures to victory.
If you have any other questions, feel free to ask. I'm probably gonna keep playing this deck for a while, as I'm really enjoying slamming big green stuff in this format.
I want everyone to test Memorial to Unity to see if you like it as I do as as 2 or 1 of.
I wouldnt play it tbh. Dont wanna risk not being able to play Steel Leaf (or any 3 drop) T2 because of a tapped land. If youre looking for some sort of filtering like that, just play 2 Adventurous Impulse imo
I really like your take, especially on Shapers'Sanctuary. I think it's a seriously underrated card. I'm curious how the Merfolk Branchwalker's have been working out for you? Also, when do you bring in the Deathgorger's usually?

I've never had the kicker fight ability from Territorial Allosaurus be relevant, but having the extra power over Ripjaw Raptor is nice.
Finally, I absolutely hate Lifecrafter's Bestiary out of the board. It's just way to slow, and Shapers' Sanctuary has been great as a replacement.
I'll try to post my matchup stats and analysis later, but I gotta get to bed.
