Hey all, took a break for a bit due to life, but am back on mtgo and playing! I tested this deck out in a few ques and am 5-1. Racked up enough points to jump into a league and will do so later this week.

UW GPG 2-0

RB Vehicles(Midrange whatever lol) 2-1
Loss to Abzan/x Approach? PFFFTTT. If approach deck comeback mono green is toast. 1-2 loss here
My version was something like this: (Still tweaking)
When the deck draws well, IT draws really well! I've had players scoop to a T3 Ghalta more than once. The deck does have some issues, the beefy cards do a ton of work while the filler cards tend to be pretty anemic on their own. I think you need to mulligan if your opening hand doesn't have a:
Curve (1-3 Drop at least)
A Pay off (Rhonas, Rishkar, Ghalta, Heart, Steel Leaf)
at least 2 lands
The deck is good, in the little testing I've done I've won way more than I've lost. 5-1 in ques, 9-2 overall. Hardest match ups are UW/x control. Be patient, apply pressure and when you get to the Settle the Wreckage phase of the match, send in 1 dude at a time and hold back. If you have 0 creatures and your opponent plays Teferi, scoop. Don't waste time, that match is over.

How are you liking Rishkar? Better than other card at that spot?
It's card that's been on my mind since I net decked the first list I put together. It's impact varies from "meh", to, "YES". Against decks like UW control, spreading +1/+1 to your Branchwalkers and Llanowar's allows to keep up pressure without needing to send multiple creatures to meet a Settle the Wreckage. Rishkar also allows for a more consistent T4 Ghalta. Is Bronto Bro better? Depends on what you are expecting in your meta. If it's heavy UW, the 3rd Brontodon is probably better. The 3 drop that comes to mind is Jadelight Ranger but I'm not so hot on that card in this iteration of mono green stompy. Jadelight did wonders in RG monsters because that deck needed to hit all of it's land drops to curve 2,3,4,5 and then 6 to start bringing back Kherna's.
More testing needs to be done, but I like Rishkar in the deck so far. He is also a flex slot after SB when you need to bring in PW's and more interaction. It's one of the first cards I cut along with the 3rd Rhonas to start opening up slots on the draw.

Hey guys, kind of new to standard. My sideboard is pretty similar to the ones listed so far in the thread. I'm having trouble deciding what cards to take out/bring in against certain matchups. Any tips?
This is my rough list right now. I find myself in control matchups, such as U/W Control, not really knowing what cards to swap. Against aggro I have the general idea of bringing in the Aethersphere Harvester, Cartouche of Strength, and Vicious Offering, but I'm unsure what to take out. Like I said, I'm kind of new to this standard so I'm a bit unfamiliar with some of the matchups. Sorry if it comes off kind of vague :/ but I appreciate any help!

I figured on paper that Brontodon 3 and 4 is better against control decks and aggro decks in that it has the built in natualize affect against control but the big butt against aggro, better blocker.
I am just building my sideboard. I still think BG version gives more flexibility post-side board.
I agree, splashing black adds depth in the sideboard but I wonder what the scroungers replaced; 3 ballista and 1 gearhulk, X# of khenra and jadelight ranger,
against UW control, I was doing something like this:
Out: -1 Rhonas, -2 Rishkar, -4 Ghalta, -1 Rampager
In: +2 Nissa (Yes 100% necessary here), +2 Naturalize, +2 Brontobro, (Sure on these 6), from here it's really a matter of what you expect from the UW deck after SB. Lyra? Knights? More enchantment based removal? That part is hard and I don't have enough reps. 3cmc Destroyed an enchantment seems...okay? I mean yes this is probably the better card to bring. The issues with playing cards like Bestiary and Vraska, is that UW/x control won't care much. The deck has so much raw card advantage that a 6cmc walker doesn't fit with what the deck wants to after SB. I may be wrong though.

Is there room in this thread to look at 3-colour builds? I just hopped on last night with a little bit of testing against WB Vehicles and Jund Walkers, and was suitably impressed with the results to think there might be something here. First the deck:
Right off the hop, I'll concede that this version is prolly a turn or two slower than mono-green or the single-splash decks, and it does lose out on the turn 3 Ghalta option. In return, it gains a more resilient later game plan which can be a real asset in some game ones. The sideboard is where I think this approach really shines. The walker package changes the dynamic of post-board games (an earlier iteration of this list forced a concession from WB with Dovin, Teferi and Oath on board, so that's a thing). Threat diversity is the name of the game here. I'll note that the sideboard Settles and Negates are strictly my first thoughts here, as I was just looking for cards to round out the walkers during testing. I'm quite sure they will change.
Well this isn't a build I've seen tried yet but I think the only answer is met with a redundant question. How is it testing? as much as we don't only want to be result oriented, how's it doing against the "current" best decks in the format?
The addition of Shalai is nice, that card does get shut down Settle the Wreckage, and it's possible that a T3 Shalai is something we should be looking at doing. I hope your testing yields results, please report back!
A have a few buddies PT bound this go around and I'm, excited for our arch type. I do think it has potential to make an impact at the PT. We should look closely at the 7-1 lists from the MTGO PTQ. Those just missed on breakers for Top 8.

I am SO High on bestiary that I have to debate you on that. 2 Bestiary (I am kind of thinking 3) is hard core! That cards gives you SO much card advantage, ESPECIALLY with greenbelt rampager!
we're playing different lists so that wanes a bit, but right now I am sideboarding:
I figure Ghalta is too big to cast, too easy to kill for the investment. I like Scavenger over SLC to attack their graveyard to prevent Azcanta from flipping and Gearhulk spell recursions.
I would like to know how UW SBs against Monogreen.

Constructive critiques and suggestions welcomed!
I like the thought of a blue splash just for Spell Pierce!
So I’m working on both the Bant and G/u options. Prolly taking Bant to FNM this week so I will be able to report back on that. From reports last week the turnout was 60/40 aggro. If it scouts the same this week it’s really tempting to main Settles over B Defense.
Spell Pierce is near the top of my shortlist in both sideboards. I’m really high on Hadana’s Climb right now... T1 Lawnmower into T2 Jadelight into T3 Climb & flip right away is a crazy good start and enables ridiculousness (one of my test games saw me down 5-17 life facing lethal, and I won out with a Rhonas activation on Carny T then flying over for 18). Shalai feels like a worthwhile inclusion as well simply because she makes removal less effective.
One way or another I think there is real potential here.

If one is playing Hadana Climb then you go with black and use constrictor and ballista and Gearhulk and its a whole other deck. One would be cheating themselves trying to play climb without constrictor.
Climb is better with Constrictor, no question. But it's not trash here. One of the main things I've found this deck stumbling with is chump blockers. Climb gives us an out to that. It also lets us make our own blockers for Hearts, Lyras, dragons & birds.
The only one that seems "obvious" to me is vs U/x control, in which I would bring in Duress, Bestiary and Nissa for sure, with cuts being Ghalta and likely some combo of Rampager, Steel Leaf and Harvester. I have no experience against the meta (aside from a few games against WB vehicles) due to recency of moving into this deck, so I won't pretend to give an informed analysis of anything else. Instead...
This is a recent tourney report using a very similar list (the main exception being no black cards at all, it's just for Scrounger) where the pilot goes into detail not only in the matchups but also in sideboard choices. We can't do a full 1:1 comparison but this feels like a good starting point which better minds than I can apply to the "ideal" list and see what cards work there.
Played in paper last night (first in paper casual event since Feb) Still my LGS has some very good competition.
Beat Sultai Midrange 2-0
Lost to RB Aggro 0-2 (Bomat List, good player, grinder)
UW Control 2-0
@Redirus91
I SB'ing with your advice in mind and pretty much, crushed this deck? This is an outlier as I'm sure this isn't a favorable match up but I got off to some quick starts. the triple Scrounger draw alongside my constant pressure made it so that by T4 he was already at 8. I forced my opponent to play settles on 1 creature and held back all Scroungers. I set up the Fumigate turn for him, but I also left up 6 mana to bring back my scroungers and quickly won G1. G2 was just a a steady stream of threats, with me holding 2 Nissa's in hand.
I SB'ed like this:
In: +2 Bestiary, +3 Nissa, +3 Crushing Canopy
Out: -1 Rampager, -1 Steel Leaf, -1 Skyboat, -4 Ghalta
Steel Leaf is great but not better than Brontodon, or Scrounger. Skyboat isn't where I wanted to be at 5, Nissa was, and Ghalta will never really matter or resolve.
It worked out.

oh yea I forgot, SLC is the one that goes.
Utilizing a different SB, one I like:
+2 Bestiary, +2 Canopy, +2 Vraska, +2 Nissa, -4 SLC, -3 Ghalta, -1 harvester
I kind of want Scavengers in there though for early damge and to work the graveyard early to prevent azcanta from slipping and gearhulks that would probably inevitably come in.
What is Nissa doing that other cards arent? Are there key card that .....dunno.....need to play more i guess.
The biggest draw to Nissa that I can see is coming down right after a Fumigate and immediately throwing 5 hasty damage to the face (more if we've got a Heart still on the board). Without her we are spending that post-Fumigate turn rebuilding with little/no pressure, which allows the control player extra time to get themselves set back up.
So yeah... the 3-colour list is slow and inconsistent. Far too many stumbles to stay even with RB and get ahead of UW. Shifting to G/u now (I'd go G/b but one collection is feeding multiple decks, and the Scroungers & Hearts are spoken for so that's a non-starter). Anyhoo. Here's the first iteration of the list:
Tonight's testing vs RB, WB and Jund walkers (no UW built yet because reasons I guess? I'm not in charge of the collection so whatcha gonna do?). I'll be honest, it was not pretty. So many whiffs with the explore team vs RB, but I felt on the back foot pretty much every game. WB was more even. Jund is good if I can get a fast start cause that deck's removal comes online slowly.
Thoughts after tonight:
- Cartouche is excellent given how skewed to aggro/midrange things are right now. Prolly going to make room for 1-2 more.
- Nissa is surprisingly meh. Maybe just bad luck as she only came out & stuck around a couple of times. I will say that scrying me past 6 lands in 3 turns was helpful.
- Branchwalkers don't cut it. I'm moving to Untamed Kavu in the 2-drop slot.
- Lawnmowers are necessary for enabling explosive starts. They should prolly come out against RB (especially on the draw) but I don't see that they can be cut from the main despite Chainwhirlers everywhere.
- Climb is reasonable. It can get guys out of some common removal ranges, and flipping with a trampler out is smexy.
- Rhonas... ugh. On the one hand he's such a strong enabler, but on the other it's so easy to shut him down.
Going forward, aside from the Kavu inclusion I'm thinking that I lose a Rhonas and either a Nissa or a Climb to make room for the last two Cartouches.
I don't have a firm sideboard yet given I'm still tinkering with the main, but if I had to play this deck tomorrow I would run:
I'm posting lists, rather than discussing card choices. Have a ball.

I agree, splashing black adds depth in the sideboard but I wonder what the scroungers replaced; 3 ballista and 1 gearhulk, X# of khenra and jadelight ranger,

Constructive critiques and suggestions welcomed!

4 Llanowar Elves
3 Greenbelt Rampager
4 Merfolk Branchwalker
4 Sraphead Scrounger
4 Steel Leaf Champion
2 Rhonas the indomitable
4 Thrashing Brontodon - I have SB space for now so -1 and +1 ranger
3 Ghalta, Primal Hunger
3 Blossoming Defense
3 Heart of Kiran
2 Aethersphere Harvester - added another in place of the heart of Kiran
1 Skysovereign, Consul Flagship
Lands - 23
10 Forest
4 Blooming Marsh
4 Woodland Cemetery
4 Hashep Oasis
1 Scavenging Grounds
3 Deathgorge Scavenger
2 Hour Of Glory - Mono red for Hazoret and or Phoenixes/bringers
2 Lifecrafter's Bestiary - control, love this card, add a third?
2 Crushing Canopy - Angel and enchants from U/W
2 Ancient Animus - fight flying creatures
2 Silent Gravestone - Gearhulk and Scarob God
2 free spots - dont know
+2 Bestiary, +2 Crushing Canopy, +3 Scavenger
-3 Ghalta, -4 Steel Leaf Champion
I figure Ghalta is too big to cast, too easy to kill for the investment. I like Scavenger over SLC to attack their graveyard to prevent Azcanta from flipping and Gearhulk spell recursions.
I would like to know how UW SBs against Monogreen.
I like the thought of a blue splash just for Spell Pierce!

Beat Sultai Midrange 2-0
Lost to RB Aggro 0-2 (Bomat List, good player, grinder)
UW Control 2-0
@Redirus91
Modern: Decks I'm playing right now:
G Mono Green Tron (34-10-3 paper record, only SCG/Regionals/PPTQ record)
C Eldrazi Tron (9-5)
UG Infect
RW Burn
oh yea I forgot, SLC is the one that goes.
Utilizing a different SB, one I like:
2 Canopy - U/W, fliers
2 vraska - kills all
2 nissa - dont know why, but everyone has her
2 hour of glory - PHXs, Scarob, hazoret, larger fliers
3 scavenger - aggro, grave decks
1 harvester - aggro
1 scavenging grounds - Gifts
+2 Bestiary, +2 Canopy, +2 Vraska, +2 Nissa, -4 SLC, -3 Ghalta, -1 harvester
I kind of want Scavengers in there though for early damge and to work the graveyard early to prevent azcanta from slipping and gearhulks that would probably inevitably come in.
What is Nissa doing that other cards arent? Are there key card that .....dunno.....need to play more i guess.

This gives me options against a reasonable variety of decks. It's not optimal but it's a starting point.
Hopefully more games through the week and more iterations to discuss.
