MTG Salvation

I’ve been playing magic for a little while now. I’ve always played casually with my buddy though and have never followed any type of format. Unfortunately, he moved out of state a few years ago. Anyway, I found two local shops that do Friday night magic but they follow the standard format. Anyone suggest a few cards that have good synergies or a combo that I can assemble a deck around for FNM? I don’t need a full deck list, just two or three cards to build around. I usually play aggro or mid range control. I’ve recently been trying to branch out and build combo decks. If that helps. Thanks in advance
