I've seen a lot of draft decks trying to use Clear The Mind to win by decking, so just trying to put something fun together to taker to FNM. Mostly just cards I have in my trade binder. THis is the Arena version I'm playing and my paper version is almost the same, minus 2 Hydroid Krasis.
This may be better served as Simic, but the Insight's can save you sometimes.
How the deck works. Ramp up mana in the early turns while fogging combat when needed. Psychic Corrosion and Drowned Secrets mill your opponent and Gaea's Blessing and Clear the Mind refill your deck.
We have a guy at our LGS that runs a Drowned Secrets. It is U/w though. It is semi successful too! He did get 100% slaughtered by nexus of fate tho. He just can't beat it.
His version is a little more control-ly so he doesn't get slaughtered by the fast decks.
I'm of the mindset that mil is never a viable strategy. I guess it can work, but probably wont in most cases.
With that aside, you have to think of a few things. You need an answer to cindervines and to aggro or burn. Both of those will just slaughter you before you get a chance to mil them out. red aggro is running cindervines to beat ur Drowned secrets and the others are blue or splashing blue for counter magic.
How do you get around a turn 2 attacker with curious obsession? With the tempo, you just can't get enough secrects down to put pressure.
I recommend using opt and growth spiral. You already have the latter in the deck. The former is the #1 card to run if you are running drowned secrets. Also, 4x drowned secrets is needed if you have any intention of actually milling them out. One just isn't enough. Even if it is landed turn 2, you will get overrun before you deck someone...heaven forbid they are running nexus of fate cause you have nothing in your deck that can stop it from shuffling over and over which means you'll never deck them!
You also have WAY to many green spells in the deck for Drowned Secrets. There are lots of split U/G cards that would also be good for you to defend and still mil them. If you are only running sphinx's insight you would probably want to just get away from white altogether. It isn't worth the mana base issues.
Something like that would be a much better start. Then you could upgrade as you go. (i tried to use just the rares you had + like 4 others that are $1 rares.
I like it. I was trying to go creatureless if possible, but I do like the Mystic in there. I will have to put it together and test it out. I will need to squeeze in a Conjecture somehow, I just love that card to much not to.
