B/U Lich's Storm Introduction
Hello People and welcome to this thread I created to discuss a deck/archetype I built this morning. I was trying to break Lich's Mastery and got this idea from an article on the mothership (which I've been unable to find back) that suggested it might be a good idea to pair it with Aetherflux Reservoir.
How it Works
The idea of this deck is to create a board state where you have a combination of mana artifacts that can make 2-3 mana at least, Paradox Engine, Aetherflux Reservoir and Lich's Mastery. This might seem like a hard thing to do at first glance but it's actually not that hard to do. Once you have that board state set up properly, every spell you play will gain you life and draw you cards. You will quickly draw your deck and be able to play all your cards, even though you don't have any cards left into your deck (because you must draw the cards with Mastery), because you can't loose the game as long as you control the mastery. This should let you produce a ton of mana and gain a ton of life too, which should let you win by either exiling a ton of cards to Reservoir, bouncing the Mastery (if you already have exile some cards to it in order to stay alive long enough to win) and responding to the "you loose the game" trigger by using the Reservoir's activated ability or playing a giant Torment of Hailfire.
Matchups
Right now I have no idea how good or bad the matchups are because I'm having issues testing the deck out. I primarily test my deck on MODO and people tend to quit the game when they realize this is some kind of storm deck. They won't even check if I fizzle or not because they don't want to sit through the combo...which I can understand in a tournament setting but this in the open play section. Also, just a heads up if you want to help me test a version of this deck, opponents can become VERY SALTY.
edit: changed 2 islands and 2 swamps for 4 Zhalfirin Void
I feel like the deck idea is sweet, but it's just too slow even compared to the mono blue version. The pyramids aren't that great and should probably be replaced with something else maybe Trinket Mages or Glintnest Cranes
