Dimir Kefnet is a midrange style deck that uses many instant and sorcery spells in conjunction with God-Eternal Kefnet to get value, and eventually win. For those who actually know the deck, I would like to ask, is the deck actually good? Is it viable in standard with all the Esper control? I just want to know if this deck is competitive, as I’m considering getting the deck on paper.
I like that deck as a "mid budget" alternative. It uses many format staples and a popular land base, so part of your investment will not go to waste if later on your decide to invest more and get a Esper (Control or Midrange) or Grixis control.
In Arena it's a much more popular deck because the only card you need that won't fit in other decks is Kefnet himself who is just a mythic. And in Arena mythic cards are "cheaper" then rare cards because despite orange wildcards being harder to get there are only a few mythic cards you will end up using anyway.
I have a dimir discard deck that relies on kefnet as an alt win, or main win con after the opp has nothing in hand.
It works better than I expected and thrashed a couple of meta decks yesterday.
It's a bit obnoxious to play against since it's discard, but it has game against most decks in the format.
