SCG Open Cincinnati is Standard. It will take place 7/15-16. With Marvel gone, have the random MTGO 5-0s represented the evolving meta? Is Oketra's Monument for real? Is Nicol Bolas good? What other Hour of Devastation cards will be playable? What new archetypes will break through? I can't wait to see!
Day 1 coverage will begin at 10:30am ET.
I'm legitimately excited for this open. The new set might seem innocuous in terms of overall power level, but some of the cards have the potential of spawning new decks or breathe new life into old ones. I wonder if Temur Energy will thrive again with Abrade, and if Abrade and Hour of Devastation can keep UW Monument from remaining a contender.
I'm also quite excited. There's been a lot of new brews floating around internet for the past week and I'm certain we will see players try these decks out at the open. If I had to pick my favourite to win the open, I'd say it's BG energy, but I don't really have any data to back that up.
i'm looking to go to Atlanta and do the Standard classic on sunday, which starts at 930.
What time do they normally cut to top 8? I'm unsure if would have time to participate, with my friends leaving potentially before then
Also, does the

work for the sealed spectacular events they hold?
The classics are usually the last thing going on day 2. Expect to start top at around 7pm -- although it will vary depending on tournament size.
Infinite is quite literally, infinite. You won't get in as many as you'd think but jamming a couple is a good time. I'd recommend just getting yourself into two side events instead of getting the infinite passs (it'll save you a couple bucks), which should add up to six rounds of magic (the spectacular events might be 4 rounds -- I can't remember). If you're there casually, this will be plenty.
Keep in mind that such a question is probably best for Magic General.
This felt like a reasonable day 1. Everyone was doing something fair that, if it gets out of hand, has an answer waiting in the format.
I'd like to see the day 2 numbers, the Hunt and Overturf indicated that lots of Temur Energy was into day 2, but hopefully it's looking pretty diverse.
