Need help deciding what to play? Keep those type of posts here and others will help you! Any "I don't know what to play" or "Help me find a deck" stuff outside of this thread will be infracted.
I just started playing mtgo this week, and I'm having so much trouble trying to decide what to play once the rotation hits. I've tried zombies, which was so boring to me, as it just involved attacking repeatedly. I've tried a Bant deck involving Restoration Angels, Thragtusks, and Geists - this to me was more fun than the zombies, as it involved slightly more complicated play, however it still felt like I was just swinging with creatures left and right, and then deciding when to drop Angel or a counter.
Basically I'm looking for something that's definitely more control oriented, and more focused on maintaining the board rather than just trying to rush creatures at the opponent. Clearly I'm going to end up playing some form of control.
I've been looking at either:
-UW Miracles
-Bant Control
-UW Control
I just can't make a decision, so I was hoping somebody that's been playing longer than me could help give me an idea of the play style behind each deck, and whether or not you actually believe it could be tier 1 when the format hits. I understand there's been no tournaments yet, however, I don't want to build something that ends up being tier 2, as I would just be rebuilding again.
I have made 2 threads in the Budget section about decks I may want to play, but nobody responds and helps. I am hoping somebody helps me here. I am 13 and not able to get a hold for 4 snapcasters or really any card $15 and up. I like playing w/g and w/b control.
Any advice on what to run?
Why is GB zombies suppossed to be better than RB? I have a full RB deck that runs very well, but ive been seeing so much about GB and very little about RB, so i was wondering, is RB going to be weak/weaker than GB?
I would say G/B zombies might be a bit better than the red variant.
So, I'm thinking either RDW, BU Rats, Selesnya Midrange, or G/B Zombies, what do you guys think on it? I'm leaning on Selesnya Midrange or RDW, but I don't know.
So currently I have an Azorious Spirits deck with a heavy focus on disabling/tapping enemy creatures and then buffing up the spirits with Drogskol Captain, before dishing out a Reaver with hexproof to prevent removal.
I also have the basic Izzet Stuffy Doll deck nonsense for fun goofiness.
I want to make something new, preferably of the Gruul variety of Green of some kind as I have plenty of green to spare from drafts/ravnica.
Anything Gruul/Green that fits the playstyle of either of those decks.

I'm unsure about what I should play, I've made a decent RDW deck so I can compete at FNM, but I was thinking about working towards making another kind of deck for more variety.
I was looking at these 3 archetypes in particular, can anyone recommend any of them? Zombies and Miracles don't interest me very much.
I'm looking for the best control deck to play. The only problem is I can't really shell out the cash for Jace and Angel of Serenity. I assume that you can make a good control deck without those. I can pretty much get anything but those two cards. Bant is something that I was looking at, since I have the Restoration Angels and Thragtusks. I'm just not sure how to get card advantage without Jace and Forbidden Alchemy.

Ditch white, and then go Jund with Liliana, Vraska, Rakdos Return, Slaughter Games, Underground Connections for CA that can smash control decks, and also Olivia that smash Midrange decks.
I'm looking for what to play in the current standard. I was playing G/W Humans pre-rotation, but with rotation I lost Hero of Bladehold and Mirran Crusader. I'm not really sure where to go from here. I've been toying with G/W/B Humans, adding in perhaps Delver and Snappy, or G/W/R with Ash Zealot and Mortars. Any thoughts? Also, if I did stick G/W base, do I drop Silverheart for Thragtusk? It seems like if I did I would want to cut Silverblade as well.
Budget of around 200.00 or so tops. Also, not a fan of Jace at the moment. Too much money for not enough card.

Im looking for a deck that hates on Jund Midrange and has a decent match against aggro. I have been happy with Bant control online, but it's just not all that great in my meta.
Jund is ridiculously inconsistent. In a deck that realistically only sees the top 12-14 cards of it's library why would you want to make your manabase and threats so shaky?
Aggro wins by consistently punching the other guy in the face before they get a chance to do something. There is a tradeoff between consistency and the best nut draw, consistency generally wins as far as decks that Top8 are concerned.
I found the BR variant most exciting to play because it has far more tricks that you can exploit and reach. I found that the BG variant had trouble handing some things and was more likely to get choked out.
a budget grixis control (it can be done), I had been preparing before RTR was revealed and I am glad I get to use Niv (a brilliant dragon!) and not having to bring myself down and use a vampire (Olivia).
The deck is already getting on the nerves of the people I play with. Just removing everything they play and countering their most powerful cards.
We are pretty casual but I am sticking to standard because I get overwhelmed with too many cards in a format, I enjoy the deck building process limitations breed creativity.
The problem is we have a variety of players at different levels of competitiveness and experience so I think I need something simple and cheap.
I don't like zombies, werewolves or vampires (most of innstrad)
Jund dragons is insanely powerful. So far with my deck, if you kill a dragon once, it will make a second appearce very soon. Archwing Dragon is one of the best Jund cards in standard that I have seen so far.

I have been switching it up between turbofog and bant humans, and having only some success.
I'm tired of playing with and against aggro. I've been playing some form of aggro since Valakut, and I'm just sick of it. I was considering America Miracle, but that deck seems so... fragile? I don't know. Someone please, help a brother out.
Are 0 creature decks viable at all? I am not talking about mills but decks like "Trix" from back in the day. Thinking of making an Izzet deck focused around "Overload" mechanic just to nuke the board into dust.
No walkers either. Was thinking if I do need a creature chances are Hypersonic Dragon will be it.
Any advice on how to build a Bant Control deck or Jund Midrange for $200 or less?
Probably start without using shocklands. Leave Jace out. Go from there. Jund would probably be easier. Thragtusk is a must, so $80 or whatever you can get them for is necessary.

I'm looking for suggestions for a W/R deck. I'm open for mostly any style; aggro, control, midrange, whatever works. I'm willing to splash a third colour, but only splash. My budget is decent, but I'm not very keen on Bonfire. People played R/W humans pre-rotation, is that still viable without Hero of Bladehold and Mirran Crusader?

When I hit my 3000 post mark, I'm gone for good.
Stay reasonable, be mindful of your expectations and don't feed the trolls.
I'm taking apart my Jund Zombies deck (It's not working as well as I'd hoped) and I think that for the first time, I'd like to build a top tier deck. I'm looking at Bant control/midrange and Jund Midrange. I have a rule for my decks, that at least half the cost has to be absorbed by selling old cards and I can meet this requirement with both of the two decks. (Assuming I ignore some sideboard stuff in the bant deck, 4 giests sideboarded seems a bit much?)
I would snap build Jund since I have the lands already. I feel like the bant cards have more staying power (jace doesn't rotate, snapcaster will always be good, and it only looses tamiyo as the money card. Compare to jund loosing huntmaster and olivia) I also have 2 snapcasters, a restoration angel, and armada wurm, supreme verdict, and sphinx's revelation so I guess the card difference isn't as great.
I keep talking up bant, but I've always been more a fan of the b/r and r/g aggressive types of decks. Which deck do you guys think is best when considering both power and card price stability?
