I think the scry burn is too slow. It does very small amounts of damage for the mana cost to get a small scry effect, when simply running less lands and smaller burn spells amounts to the same thing. If Magma Jet were a common then they would pass, it is more efficient and scrys deeper. If you want to run higher lands for searing blaze then maybe bolt of keranos, but you might be better off just running Orcish Cannonade instead and draw rather than scry.

Pauper: UB Wight Phantasm RB Burn UR Faerie Rites of Initiation
Now that Forked Bolt has been printed at Common, does it bump anything? Chain Lightning is something I'll never be able to bring myself to spend $60 on a set for, but the ability to toast 2 X/1s for 1 mana seems pretty sweet.
I bought the stuff for Legacy burn over a year ago to find that there's really no Legacy nearby. That translated to a Modern burn deck--and the chain lightnings and Fireblasts had to have a place to go. So, into pauper they go.
I've been playing Pauper online, hoping to find some play IRL.
I initially ignored all good advice and Ran spark elemental. He hits more often than not, and a lot of times even as a top deck--he can still get in there.
I ran into a u/b control deck running Pristine Talisman. I had 0 chance game 1. And If you don't draw hate g2--you lose. Curse of the Pierce heart is so good to counteract that. And in longer games, it can do serious work.
As far as card draw/advantage--I run 4 needle drops and 3 Forgotten cave. I run 20 lands, and in bigger games find myself flooding. I hate to go less than 20 though because Fireblast eats your mountains. I figure 3 cycling lands is similar to the # of planeswalkers you run in some decks or legendary creatures. You should usually see 1, but won't get overwhelmed with them very often. So far, it's worked out. I've played a few Caves tapped on T3, but for the most part I'm able to cycle when need be.
Would love to hear if anyone is doing anything new with the deck.
At the same time, I've been seeing lists that are completely removing all creatures and going for strict burn.
What are your opinions on this? I don't think I would want to get rid of my Keldon Marauders. As for the Goblin Fireslinger, it seems like a way to run 8 copies of Curse of the Pierced Heart. Goblin Fireslinger wasn't recently downgraded to common; so it makes me wonder why it is suddenly seeing a surge in a play.
If I was to run 4 Goblin Fireslinger I'd probably remove either Flame Rifts or Shard Volley. What do you fellas think? I am interested in giving these slingers a try in my burn deck.
I played in the second iteration of a local pauper tournament (6 Swiss Rounds, 62 players) and made Top 8 as the #2 seed with Burn. Unfortunately I lost in the first elimination round, but I am happy with the results - especially since this was my first organized pauper event. And, hey, I won a Snapcaster Mage.
My Swiss Rounds went like this:
Round 1 (2-1) - UB Angler Delver
Round 2 (0-2) - UB Angler Delver (Way better player than Round 1, also made Top 8 and finished 2nd.)
Round 3 (2-1) - Mono-Black Control
Round 4 (2-1) - Mono-Black Aggro/Discard (Feature Match! I'm at 3:19:19. Watch to the end - the commentators called it a "sick" match.)
Round 5 (2-1) - UB Teachings
Round 6 (2-1) - Jeskai Kuldotha
As you can see, I dodged Mono-Blue Delver which definitely helped me go 5-1. I ended up playing the UB Angler Delver player from Round 2 in the first elimination round and lost again 0-2.
I practiced on Cockatrice a couple weeks before this event (as I'd never played pauper before) and decided that I didn't like the Fireslinger builds that were dominating the MTGGoldfish lists of late. I understand the theory, but I don't like them in practice. On the other hand, they might have helped against the UB Angler Delver deck that took 4 straight games on me.
I believe there will be a 3rd iteration of this event in a month or two, and I'll probably run Burn back. Any tips on how to play/maindeck/board against Mono-Blue Delver or UB Angler Delver are much appreciated. I don't want to run Pyroblast, though. I play Burn in Legacy and Modern, as well, and I just don't believe in Pyroblast/REB. Burn can't afford to 1-for-1 blue decks, and it can't afford to run a bunch of cards that can't dome the opponent. When I've beaten mono-blue, it's because I was able to just stockpile burn and overload their counterspell mana. Pyroblast doesn't really help you do that, and it doesn't do damage.
Anyway, I hope the list helps someone out. Any comments or questions are appreciated.
At the same time, I've been seeing lists that are completely removing all creatures and going for strict burn.

I saw that and still can't see what the appeal is. 4 Goblins just don't seem to do as much damage as so many other options. If you find out let me know.
The fireslingers are a real pain for me when I play Turbo Fog, but other than that, I can't really see why someone would run them.
They were very popular when I started playing online exactly a year ago (burn was fairly popular then, too).
They really feel like worse Curse of the Pierced Hearts. The Curses are notoriously good against Control decks, but those same control decks will deal with the 1/1 on the spot, most of the time. Against Aggro or Tempo, it just doesn't seem to really cut it (then again, neither would Flame Rift or Shard Volley).
So I took burn to my local shop for the very small (6-8 people) pauper tournament. I ran four Goblin Fireslinger in place of 1 Needle Drop and the three Shard Volleys I was running.
The deck performed well and I pulled second if it wasn't for the Soul Sisters life gain deck. (Unfortunately Electrickery can't reset all the life gained from the Soul Sisters )
Anyways, I am really beginning to see the value of Goblin Fireslingers, at least in my meta. To start, they were nice pressure whenever I entered top-deck mode. Often if I used up my hand, and still didn't have the kill, the Goblin Fireslinger could continue to do damage no matter how many creatures they had. However, that isn't the real reason I like the fireslinger in burn.
I think I discovered the real reason Goblin Fireslinger has seen a surge in use, Gurmag Angler. I didn't realize it until I played both a Turbo Exhume deck and a Angler Delver deck; Gurmag Angler doesn't have trample, and your Goblin Fireslinger suddenly stonewalls 5 damage, essentially buying you a whole turn to draw the kill. This happened twice. My hand was empty, Pristine Talisman had my opponent just out of reach, he plays an angler, I go to my turn, draw a land and pass the turn, and he swings for what should be lethal. But I had my Fireslinger, I chumped, drew a bolt, and won the game.
So the fireslinger seems to be a strict meta call. Save for a select few people, my meta is full of decks like Kiln Fiend, Angler, Exalted, etc. All these decks that want to get in big swings with single creatures. Goblin Fireslinger offers another block option along side Keldon Marauders, one that proved to be extremely effective for me. Thinking about it now, it makes a lot of sense. Angler decks are getting more popular, and the Fireslinger gives burn a card that can burn as well as block a big swing. Hope that sheds some light on the recent Goblin Fireslinger trend.
In theory, but with the loss of Delver and Familiars I feel like it's sort of wide open. Hexproof got a lot better. Elves might be the same. I can see Jeskai wrecking things though as the slow control deck of the format.
Now that Forked Bolt has been printed at Common, does it bump anything? Chain Lightning is something I'll never be able to bring myself to spend $60 on a set for, but the ability to toast 2 X/1s for 1 mana seems pretty sweet.
I have yet to see a list online run Forked Bolt and I still can't figure out why. It's been an absolute champ for me - usually killing 2 creatures but sometimes ~just~ a Firebolt.
Why is nobody using this card?
Hi, everyone! I need your help in Bogles matchup!
What do I run main\sb to beat them? I can only think of Martyr of Ashes and Electrickery (the latter is not so good but otherwise we have little to no interaction with their lifelink stuff). I would appreciate any help

You could take moderns approach and splash green. There are a lot of green cards which deal with enchantments, and it lets you add some better creatures if you want more reach.

Yeah, Back to Nature does great job vs bogles at our LGS:)
Though I'm not sure which color to splash (maybe white for Leave no trace).
Anyway, in this case I have yet another question: How should my manabase look like? Just taplands or maybe artifacts like Chromatic Star? Or maybe I'm missing something...

Chromatic stars are slow, so I would avoid them. I would up the lands to twenty and include some manamorphose, thus effectively reducing the deck size to 56.
Green nets you access to the best creature options, like Kird Ape, Wild Nacatl, Scythe Tiger and Rogue Elephant. I like that darn tiger because it is difficult to remove and beats face like a delver, and burn doesn't need that many lands to begin with. Kird Ape is the easiest to slot in and has a big butt, the cat is the worst of the options but could be good if you are pushing into full gruul territory, and the elephant is really big for 1 mana.
Oh, sorry for not making myself clear - I'm asking about pauper burn, not peasant, so back to nature isn't an option here, unfortunately (I mentioned it earlier speaking about modern, actually). Tranquility is the best, probably.
That still leaves Tranquility and Hush. Hush can be cycled out for 2 if it is a dead draw, while Tranquility is more fairly priced. If getting it out fast is a big deal you can run reverent silence, which only takes 1 land. The issue is that burn has less staying power than bogles, so you would need to run more creatures to survive giving them six life.

Ok, thanks a lot!
I'll definitely consider green splash for tranquility or hush if I keep running into hexproof at my LGS pauper events!
This has been a joy to pilot, and while at first I hated Needle Drop I have really come to appreciate it. When I've lent out the deck that's the card I had to explain the most, usually the only one I had to explain (that and just how okay you have to be with blowing up your own lands). There is a hole in the sideboard, I used to play in an environment that allowed stuff that isn't common on mtgo but is in paper, and my local meta was heavy on discard, so I had Guerrilla Tactics in the sideboard for that matchup and it was usually devastating. Now I need to bring it into the normal meta and I'm looking for advice on the sideboard hole.

I think you should use your remaining slots on some amount of Martyr of Ashes or Gorilla Shaman. The Shaman especially acts as a game ender against affinity, as you can kill all of their lands for 1 mana each. Nothing in life is as satisfying as taxing out an affinity deck. Martyr is good against bogles and breaks MBA, as it kills all of their critters and they overextend to win.
