It can play very aggressive with the powerful pumping doggies that discard madness creatures for even more pressure. Cards like Grave Scrabbler and Tortured Existence provide so much value in the mid to late game that it's quite possible to keep up the pressure even against removal-heavy decks.
Lead the Stampede is turning out to be an amazing inclusion. It regularly brings out 3-4 creatures, which help fuel the rest of the deck. Commune with the Gods was good at fetching Tortured Existence, but the card advantage trumps the selection, in my opinion.
Rite of Consumption is just something I'm trying out as an "I win" card, a bit like Fling in Affinity. It gives us some inevitability in the face of a cluttered board.
The sideboard should be pretty self-explanatory. Spore Frog and Stinkweed Imp allow us to go into a more controlling role against very fast aggro decks. We then clean up their board with Crypt Rats and play our dogs to finish the game.
EDIT: Rite of Consumption and Moldervine Cloak have both been underwhelming. I really just need more Golgari Brownscales in the maindeck. I also took out Gnaw to the Bone, as Brownscale is just a better card overall. I now have 3 main, 1 sideboard.
I've been watching you play this on your Youtube channel and it's been fun to watch! The one issue I have is seeing Arrogant Wurm get outclassed by some of the bigger creatures in the format. And your creatures that pump requiring a fair amount of resources to deal with Anglers. I'd like to see Moldervine Cloak to help increase your threats! If Rite of Consumption ends up not working out then Cloak be a good choice imo to replace it.

I was thinking exactly this! Moldervine Cloak was definitely on my watch list to replace Rite of Consumption. Extra dredging would also be welcome. Rite is potentially good, but it just hasn't come up in games yet.
This deck has gotten a new toy in Guilds of Ravnica via Rhizome Lurcher. It could replace the Arrogant Wurms to make it paper pauper legal. I'm not sure how much you'll miss the trample.
I don't think I would want to run either. Grave hate and removal are foundational to pauper due to WotC seeing them as safe, and so many pauper decks running Gurmag Angler. TE is possibly the best or second best control deck except hating it out is so easy (spore frog combo kills aggro for instance.)
So a big creature that everyone has both maindeck and sideboard answers to seems bad.

The deck gets its weird name from Wild Mongrel and Vampire Hounds being the main engines of the deck.

Eternal Troops is so close to being a better Vampire Hounds! Why only once per turn?! Why?
